    Love this idea! I've already started something similar to save his completed work but love the idea of including a photocopy of the index of what each workbook encompassed, as well as adding a tab for field trips. Saving this video!!

    Omg!!! I needed this in May but now that I have this GOLDEN nugget, I'm not letting this go. I'll be going back through our past years and doing this so I can ditch all the other clutter that's been collecting dust! You're a gem! 🙌♥️

    This is a super informative video! I generally just stack the whole book that’s been finished in a spot in a closet for all that but I love the idea of just taking samples of it! Great video as usual Katie thanks!

      Yes I used to do it the same way but I love that this saves so much space and makes it easier to look back. Glad I could give you a few ideas.

    Totally adopting some of your ideas! This was our first year and my son was only in preschool but I ended up just taking pictures of everything and having it printed on Amazon photos into a book 🤣 it was the easiest thing I could think of to have some sort of record of it and most of our Preschool was activities so pictures were easier

    I have records from my childhood and it wasn’t needed. It’s awesome to look through and my kids love looking at my old school work. Im not as good as my parents where. I love the idea of putting scope and secence in the records. Sorry I can’t spell

    This was very helpful, as I'm always wondering if I'm keeping TOO much, but I wish you spoke a little slower. Also , I really liked the newspaper idea. How old were your kids when they did that ? Did you give different requirement/guidelines based on age?

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  Год назад +1

      I’m glad this could help. As far as the speaking to quickly it’s been a problem all my life lol 😂 but fun fact there is a way to slow down my videos without distorting the sound. If you click the gear ⚙️ in the bottom right corner of my video.
      As far as. The newspaper assignment I think they would have been 6th,5th, and 3rd grade and yes I varied my expectations.

  • @sherpol

    For other activities like wipe clean and counting bears etc...do you just take photos? My twins are autistic and in kindergarten and i find thst a lot of what we do is hands on but i dont want it to look like they are doing nothing. I've even bought curriculum that's all paperwork but that doesn't seem to work for them as they are hands on and we need to go slower and review with manipulatives.

    Besides being audit, you don't have to show work at all? How does the state know for sure your kids are doing work? Specially if they don't require it or your doing unschooling? And who is grading them?

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  10 месяцев назад

      Each state has different laws. Our state does not require records to be shown but I personally keep records & grades for my kids.

  • @juliehamilton4827
    @juliehamilton4827 2 года назад +1

    do you log hours. I know you had said in your state it is not nessary but I just wonder how you know that you have gotten through enough hours in each subject. 3rd year mom here still learning the best way. thank you for your video

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  2 года назад +1

      We are not required to log hours so I just record days instead of hours. We finish our books fully so I’m confident we have done an adequate amount of hours for each subject.
