I am also a teacher homeschooling my children. I MIL is also a huge help. She does their lit, science and social studies and my husband and I teach the math and writing. We do work as a tribe!

At the very beginning when my daughter was in k4 that’s how we had started. However, now our schedule includes my husband homeschooling in the morning as well. I’m sharing with you this blogpost in my website that give a better picture of what our typical homeschooling schedule looks like 🤗 ➡️ joyfulyessi.com/a-homeschool-schedule-is-essential-to-a-working-parent/

Do you or have you use, used book material? if so how did you go about it? My husband and I are planning to homeschooling our k5, 2nd and 3rd grade for this 2024-2025 school year.

Yes, We use the Abeka curriculum and we absolutely love it! We use the Abeka academy because it comes with video lessons. We have done k4, k5, 4th and 5th and the upcoming year we are doing 1st & 6th. I take everything and organize it all into quarters for the entire year before the school year begins and then I put all the things into one binder quarterly. This keeps everything all in one place and efficient (I also have some videos here showing the process of organizing the curriculum 🤗) My husband usually has to work closely with the kiddos along the math class, and language. I work with them both with reading and I use the curriculum and the reading teacher manual that comes with it. The rest they follow along with the video lessons that come in the curriculum. I hope this answered your question 🤗

Our kids are done with the majority of their work 9am-12pm. Then I do about 30 minutes of reading. I actually have a blog post on my website Joyfulyessi.con called “Creating a homeschool schedule…” where I go more in depth about how our schedule looks like that will give you a better break down 🤗 Let me know if you found it helpful 🙂
