  • 11. This one may sound really obvious but it's not. From my experience I would always advice anyone to sketch what they see, even if it doesn't make sense. It would always end up looking like something else if you sketch what you know about something rather than what you see. You have got to trust your eyes. It's very important. Naturally we are not wired to see this way- but for the sketch inspiration to flow you have to change from what you know to what you see.

    I enjoy your lessons since they include repetition of reinforcing statements. This is exactly what DaVinci was trying to emphasize in his lessons on drawing, to draw what you see versus what you know about the object you're trying to draw. Our brains automatically interpret based on stored information to make processing faster but in drawing we must take the time to force our minds to draw what we see at the moment.

    Wonderful demo! Really great point too, it takes discipline of vision to put down the marks we actually see. I suppose it's that visual database we create as we practice this that allows us to make better synthetic forms.

    sir, i was just curious about what type of pencil you are using.. seems to be so expensive.. I definitely like your lessons though.. God bless

    • @protorampager6487
      @protorampager6487 7 лет назад +3

      Its not expensive. He's using a carbon pencil taped with a stick. and the pencil has been stripped from the smooth surface allowing him a rough grip.(it looks like a tape instead of a pencil gripper)
