yes i know what you mean, this notebook is actually dotted grid, so i have the dots to use as guides when i´m writing or creating my layouts

itsbinkybee you can put a straight object on your journal and write above it. Something like a ruler, or a piece of paper. I have the same problem, but if you use lines paper, like i did, it'll look weird and yiu'll habe to make way more lines, cause there aren't enough lines for all days of the month. Dotted lines are way easier to handle. Believe me
binky I have the exact same problem! I wish I could make my journals look as beautiful as this but unfortunately I need lines. Sigh!
Don't worry! There are other kinds of notebooks for bullet journaling too. There square grid paper as well! That is what I use and I never had fuss while writing :)

I must say I really like the idea of the mood tracker! I sometimes struggle with depression and I think it will be nice for me to incorporate this in my own bullet journal, as it is a visual reminder that I do have good periods as well :)

My planner is just functional to settle my plans and ideas down on paper, but I would like to try more colours and personalize it a little bit more..
You can definitely do anything you set your mind to. I love using my bullet journal as a creative outlet as well as to keep my life organized. The great thing about the system is it´s totally up to you how you want to make it. My book has definitely evolved from when I first started using it.

Hi Emma, I know how you feel, before starting my bullet journal all the videos I would watch were really intimidating, I didn´t think I could make my notebook look organized and pretty. But really the trick is just to start. Once you fill out that first page it all slowly comes together, and it´s okay if sometimes i looks messy, it´s just part of the process ;) Don´t give up!

yeah I know what you mean! :) I mainly use my fauxdori for lists and art journals/journaling itself. I get new calendars from my boyfriend's work every end of the year so I can plan perfectly fine in those (for "regular" everyday stuff) :) The fauxdori is really just for traveling or if I want something extra :3

Thank you so much Kaila, well the energy levels tracker was just something I created since I wanted to measure different things in my life, but most of my inspiration came from Instagram, Pinterest and lots of YouTubing, lol.

Hi Esther, I have recently been wanting to bullet journal but was unsure if I'd have enough space/pages. Do you think that if I started this month (July) and continued up until May of 2018 that I'd have enough space in a Leuchtturm notebook? Thank you for your feedback!
I like the idea of bullet journaling so much! I'm thinking about starting one :)
But I think I'll also keep my regular journal for my normal planning, since sometimes I have to plan some things months ahead, meaning I'd have to draw a whole year in advance, not sure if that'd work out great. Anyone has experience doing this?
You could do a future log. Pinterest has a lot ideas for it. ;)
+Saskia V but the thing is, I like to write my tasks on the day that they need to be finished or events. So in a list wouldn't be handy for me... That's why I said I'd have to draw out a whole year...
Bullet journaling is really awesome, however it´s not for everyone. I guess the biggest "handicap" is future planning, however there are many ways to do a future log. I found the Alastair method was the best one for me. I left a link in the description box in case you want to read more about it.

Margo Willaert hi! I might be a little late. But I do use my bujo as an actual planner. So for every week I have two pages, one for normal planning like where I need to be and what time. The second page is my to do list, I sorted my to do list in three sections, but that's up to anyone to decide. I work ahead about two or three months, but it's a little bit more work in the beginning, but after that you can add the same amount of pages as for a normal bujo! I hope you find this useful, if you have more questions please ask! I hope you can still start your bujo if you haven't yet!

Can you recommend a color wide or thick marker that doesn't bleed ? I hate to turn next page and see the color coming trough
Hi Maria, I´m currently using Stabilo Point 88 pens and an Elegant Writer calligraphy pen, they both work great, they shadow a bit but don´t bleed through. Unfortunately I haven´t tested the pages with many other writing utensils. There´s a great review video by Boho Berry where she does a couple of pen tests, maybe you can get a few tips from there : ruclips.net/video/FBVGP6772yQ/видео.html

Hi! Well, this is actually my first BuJo, so I just have this one notebook so far. The Leuchtturm has over 200 pages, so I think it will probably last me the entire year. I´ve seen some people use multiple notebooks throughout the year though. It all depends how much you use it and fill it up.

I would really like to create a bully journal, and I have been watching video after video seeing what different people do to their journals... and I have one question that I feel I really don't want to know the answer to but I am going to ask it anyways :)...
On average: how long does it take to you create layouts for the pages? I understand that layouts can details can vary, but if you were just going to draw boxes on a notebook I would rather buy an actual planner and go. However I am artistic and I have the spare time to spend doing this... I'm just curious on how much time you actually spend creating it, versus the time you actually use it.
Kaylyn LeGrand It depends in how much time you want to spend on it. I draw pictures with my spreads, so I can spend easily 30 minutes or more, but that's my mommy time lol I use mine everyday,and I love it!
Kaylyn LeGrand also Google bullet journal inspiration, there are so many that aren't simply drawn boxes!
I agree with Yolanda, if you are more of the artsy type I´m sure you can easily spend hours doodling and creating your bujo spreads. I used to create my layouts based on how busy my week was, I would spend a few hours setting up the start of each month, and then fill it out as the week progressed.
How do you know the monthly challenges. I am curious on his to find out
I find them on Instagram. If you follow Bohoberry and a few other bullet-journalers you are bound to find a ton at the end of each month.

How long does it last?
Do you mean the notebook? I guess it depends on how many pages you fill up in your planning system. I´ve estimated I use about 12-14 pages for each month. The journal will probably last me till the end of this year with a few more pages to spare.

Thank you! The notebook I used is the Leuchtturm1917, I bought mine from Amazon. But you can start with any other type of notebook that you like.

I like the dotted grid because it´s very faint but it´s really helpful when you create your spreads, but it´s really personal preference.
