    I do it like you. I think it is a good thing to sit down before bed, go through your bullet journal, cross things out that you finished that day and set up the following day. It calms me down before going to sleep because I know that I have everything ready for the next day to come :)

    hello, love your ideas. so you do not set up your daily pages ahead time. Instead, you set it up the night before. Is that correct? I just started bullet journaling and I haven't found my own style yet. I am overwhelmed! Thanks so much for sharing your tips with us.

    This looks more like an art piece than something you're supposed to do every day. What if you're in a rush? What if you're travelling? How do you manage this?! Seems more stressful than something helpful. But it is STUNNINGLY beautiful :)

      if you look at the website where this idea came from (bulletjournal.com) it is nowhere near as artistic as the super artsy bullet journals it's known for now. the bullet journal as a very flexible system though so you can make it as fancy or basic as it suits you. i've kept a very basic but ugly journal for the past 9 months and i'm kinda ready to try and make my next one a bit more well curated and nice, but we'll see.

    • @sheenachante
      @sheenachante 7 лет назад +6

      i thought like this too, but the original creator on bulletjournal.com has an overview on how it works and it looks very basic & boring which is also very easy to do. its actually very cool. it can be as simple as possible, its what you put into it that can make it look like this one & take this long.

      OMG I couldn't agree with you more. These girrrrrrly cutesy Bullet Journal videos "That's a fun little arrow" "I'll just put a moon right heeeeeeeere" i.e. I'm going to make a calendar by HAND SQUEEEE! make me want to run screaming to a drugstore to buy a daily planner where all of this craziness is already on the page - albeit minus the calligraphy, colors and clouds. I'm going to go straight to the source that others have kindly posted (bulletjournal.com) and see if that makes more sense to me. Can I possibly achieve my goals without pastels and cute little suns to tell me when the sun rises? OMG I DON't KNOW!

    • @nikoskakaris9965
      @nikoskakaris9965 7 лет назад +8

      Julia Caroline you can do this system (bullet journaling) in a much more simple way if you are in a hurry :). That is the purpose of this system, which is flexibility. It can be art and it can be a total mess, as long as it helps you :). You should try it!

    I'd love for you to do a beginners guide journal that highlights what you currently do. The concepts, what you have found works, what does page one and page 10 look like and so on. Im going to go out now and buy all my supplies and i've watched about an hour of your videos and I still feel like i might stuff this up :) I've got the daily down pat, it's the index and everything else im not too sure about. there are other sites, but I like your style and creativity. thanks for inspiring me.

    Came across your website from a random Facebook post about organising. I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety and had to stop working. One thing that was badly affected was my organisation and productivity. I ordered Pamela Henry's The Success Planner, a whole year's worth because I'm in the UK, an stuck with it for about three months. Hoping I can stick with a Bullet journal, and this is a great post for daily planning so thanks! Is there video for additional planning? Like Monthly and Goals in-depth?

    I love the way you set up the events in the calendex, I had never seen it before. Especially with the reference to the page it was listed on. Definitely a nice way to do future planning in a bullet journal. Right now I don't really have things I have to plan ahead that way but definitely a good idea for the future :)

    Had to pause the video just to tell you that your time tracker solves a HUGE problem for me. I tried writing out a full list of times and that took up too much space, and I looked into purchasing a planner with the times listed, but most only cover from like 7 am-5 pm. I work evenings, and I have college assignments due before midnight, etc. This totally solves this issue in a short amount of time. If I see a section marked off with whatever I choose my work color to be, there is no need to write it out. What a simple yet genius idea!

    Just found you on Pinterest today. Just heard about Bullet Journaling today. Just bought a journal and pens today. Got started today. Question though... what's the purpose of putting your "Brain Dump" in a completely separate journal/book? To me the appeal of having everything together is what makes it worth it. But obviously... day one... Thanks for sharing and teaching!

    • @Namoraslife
      @Namoraslife 7 лет назад

      Ashley Musick hey, she mentioned it in another video of hers, that if she does the brain dump page in her bujo, it gets lost between the pages and she never gets back to take a look at it. To prevent this, she separated it. But cool thing: there are no rules in bullet journaling, so if you want to keep everything together, it's totally a go! I hope, I could answer your question. Greetings from Germany ;)

    I have a question regarding how/if you use your monthly/weekly spread anything when you plan your day? For me it would be natural to have appointments in the weekly spread for an overview, and then I would reference that for my daily planning rather than my calendex. Just curious to know weather you use those two as well or just the calendex :)

    Thank you for all the pointers to creating a daily log. Basically what i understood was -- First you have to go to future log,find out the page number written there, and visit the original page where the upcoming event is mentioned.
    Secondly,regarding tasks , find out an unfinished task from previous page and mark that previously unchecked task as having migrated to the current page.
    Thirdly, choose a task from the goal list and also update the habit tracker .

    I just realized what the Calendex is used for. I was confused before. This is actually neat so you don't need to repeatedly write the tasks over and over again, which in my case might not always be a bad idea but it saves time nonetheless. Gonna check your post on it today. Thanks again for sharing.

    Do you have a video about what all kinds of things you have on your journal? Everything looked super interesting and inspiring, and i'd love to steal some ideas! ;)

    I'm kind of binge watching your videos. Not sure how I managed to not find out about this bullet journal thing until now. I'm an obsessive planner but found none of the premade planners ever REALLY work right for me. I'm just getting started based on watching your vids and I am SO inspired. Thank you so much. (And seriously... instagram lets you make landing pages? That's a new one by me!)

    You are very artistic. I don't have the talent nor the time for such a Zen-like appointment book design. But I enjoyed watching you put it together.

    I have always used my phone to keep my appointments. I tend to miss some of them because i don't look at it first thing in the morning. What is the difference between bullet journaling and regular planners?

    Can I add a gentle plea? Could you film so that I can see your journal head on. The angle is causing me to get a pain in my neck as I twist it to look! Not a criticism, just a suggestion.
    I like what you do, and am learning from it. Cheers!

    This helped me So much!! I've been exploring different formats since the beginning of the year and have adopted your tracking and other components into my planner (thank you!!). This month I'm trying the Bullet Journal Style for the daily for the first time. Even though I've been watching bujo videos for several months, setting up my first daily for tomorrow (May 1) I was at a loss (it's surprising how out of my comfort zone this is!) Sorry to be so wordy but just want to cyber hug you for all that you share. {{hugs}} ~ Pam

    I recently got a filofax but you almost make me regret it, I kind of want a bullet journal now!I'm not sure it would work for me though. The creative aspect is really tempting, but I feel like I'm too much of a perfectionist and I'd end up not doing anything with it because it would never be perfect. But yours is so pretty and looks so useful and practical!

    • @ruthcharlton7843
      @ruthcharlton7843 8 лет назад +1

      You can bullet journal in a Filofax as well, you just adapt the system to which ever way suits you!

    • @Milie026
      @Milie026 8 лет назад

      I know, I'm thinking about doing that, but I still think I'll end up using tons of pages because I'll want to redo them until they're perfect. That might actually be a sign that I need to work on that, now that I think about it...

      @Bohoberryshop  8 лет назад +2

      +Emilie Michel As a recovering perfectionist myself, I can say that the Bullet Journal has totally released me from trying to be perfect all the time. In a way, it forces you in the other direction, and makes you realize that mistakes happen to all of us, it's part of what makes us human :)

    Love this! Borrowed your daily spread layout (love the time tracker) and the monthly tracker, which I especially like because it means all my task tracking stuff is now analog (still use Google calendar and the Sunrise app.) New follower btw, love your work. :)

      +Robert “Frank” Martin Thanks so much! I'm a sucker for analog as well, but I still use a shared family iCal calendar to keep everyone on track each week :)
