I do mine a little differently. I put a dot on the day I start a task and an x when I finish the task so at a glance I know when something was started and finished.

Watching numerous videos by many people did not help me understand Bullet Journaling until watching your videos. It finally clicked. I have watched many of your videos and videos by other people learning a lot. Ryder Carroll's website helped a lot also. Thank you for making your videos. Looking forward to using bullet journaling and watching more videos. Randy

I really like this method. I manage 100+ utility construction projects simultaneously that have numerous phases, steps, levels of difficulty and dependencies. I’m going to try this weekly running list. What I really like is the “1/2 X” or / to indicate worked on but not completed. This will help serve as a reminder that even if I didn’t finish something I DID work on it. 👏👏

I’m going to definitely try this weekly spread idea. My week is pretty up in the air with work and I end up making a mess of “traditional” weekly spreads. I’m a manager so some days are just really bad and I don’t want to do anything when I get home. This will still give me a bird’s eye view and keep things orderly. Yay!

This seems to be a great method, going to give this one a try, nothing else seems to work that well...I also need to carry a journal or something for work because from one day to the next I forget what wasn't done, what I need to add to the next day's schedule, etc. This would be a very quick method to track all those things. Thank you for the awesome ideas.

I do this in a spreadsheet on my computer and have written a few easy macros that keeps the list up to date and sorted. If something needs to be carried over to next week it does it automatically. There are programs that you can buy but making my own spreadsheet was very easy.
Also I have it automatically sort by days of the week so I don't miss anything. Looking down a list in any order is one way of missing an item to do. One last macro is set up to sort by various tasks that need to be done prior to others.
Finally, if I need to I print out a task report for the day, week, or month I can do so easily. I also have it linked to my calendar on my phone and desktoo to set reminders.
Doing it by hand is way too time consuming and old fashion.

Interestingly, this is very similar to a Franklin Covey planner method - their plastic bookmark was also a to-do list and you created a master list of things to accomplish that shifted to each day as you moved the bookmark, and then you organized your rolling list with priority colors or symbols to help you decide which was the most important to finish first. I use a variation of this in my weekly pages where I write the to-do list out on the left side of the page (I have a blank column) and then migrate individual items to specific days if I know that ahead of time or pluck things off the master list as I plan each day. It seems like a lot of repetition in writing, but it helps me organize my thoughts and reinforce what I am doing for that day by writing it again.
