For the 1st story, I'm surprised that she didn't just burst out laughing when the Karen said " Why didn't you tell me there was glass?!? " Because that's what I would have done. I swear these Karen's just turn everything around when something actually happens. "You don't work here", "There is no glass" to "I'll have you fired!!!","Why didn't you tell me there was glass?!?"
It’s basically Karen Blameshift 101, you see they don’t like being told what to do by a stranger and they can probably see somebody as a stranger that doesn’t have the uniform, however if you warn them enough times and say yeah I do work here but I’m off that little nugget remains with them so when they take a fall like this dummy did, she instantly wants punishment for her actions. If it was me I would’ve said to her “if I don’t work here why do you want me fired?”

2nd Story: I think the OP clearly has some deep wounds inside that haven't healed and should seek therapy. While they don't owe their dad or stepbrother a shred of decency or consideration, it seemed like they were way too invested in knocking down a couple of family members whose lives were already a sad mess without their assistance. Hopefully the OP heals one day to the point where they're just indifferent to the people that wronged them.
2nd story seemed far too made up for my liking
If the story is true, I think the grave thing was bit much (not the purple urn part, I'm referring to the national cemetery part).

I must say that 2nd story is one of the best revenge in my opinion because a childhood without parents is one of the most hurtful things to remember as it can affect the child for a long time. But in the end,what comes around comes back around as the table of the event has turned to the OP's father.
And he didn't say sorry to his son that he ABANDONED FOR 31 YRS and is asking for favors while his other son that he choose is a jerk and stealing from him he deserved it

The Karen in the 1st story was looking for an excuse to sue the store. She was probably the one who broke the glass to begin with, then walked away just in case an employee came over. She then returned only to see what she thought was just another customer and intentionally walked and slipped on the glass.
If she did, she probably picked the time when most employees were on lunch break on purpose then.

@@rockandtoon2112 Had similar happen to me with return fraud. She was a regular and kept trying to commit return fraud for years on us on the same item. One day she went walking by nothing new walking by again and noticed supervisor out at lunch so she then got her friend to try to commit return fraud same item and same reason and stood right behind her came tried return fraud on me. Sadly they got a supervisor from another department that didn't care and that supervisor over rode me but we spent 2 hours with the store manager and got that supervisor's department to eat the return fraud.

The First Story reminds me of something that happened during the Summer at Work. So it was a fairly busy day. A old man was getting salsa. He placed the jar in the area of the cart you would put a kid at. (That is without lifting the plastic thing.) So it rolled out and shattered everywhere on the floor. I was busy cleaning it up. So then this Young Lady came by while I was cleaning it up. I loudly and firmly told her there is broken glass here. (Not in a aggressive tone as far as I know.) She completely ignored me and got glass in her foam flip flops no doubt. Along with possiblly salsa. Oh and my Manager ended up cleaning up the rest. I had to get back to the Cash Register. (I do a little bit of pretty much everything.)
Story 2: I would've at least had the cemetery bury the dad's dog next to him.

I understand the OP of the second stories feelings, the need for revenge. My father was even worse, but he went to far. Shorty may have been a crap head, but neither he nor his children are guilty of his mother's or step-father's actions.
I would love to bring my father down, but I would never hurt his new family.

OP in second story didn't owe his biological father - by the same token there was no reason to be as spiteful towards his father as he was. His actions all round were not motivated from seeking justice for his father against shorty but instead were a way of getting back at his fathers new son... just seems like a sad man.

2nd story: I don't understand how people who leave a house in that state every socialize. How do they convince someone to date/live with them and procreate when they are obviously a slob without any redeeming qualities.
For me the worst part of that story was hearing about the dead dog that was locked in that house, rotting away in pain. Dogs are such gentle souls that deserve so much more than this.

I think the revenge was justified. I despise people who make kids and then abandon them to live a new life with a new family. Or who just abandon them at all, but the new family somehow makes it even worse of a betrayal. Aside from OP and their sibling, the only one I feel sorry for is the dog.

I had this kid that climbed the shelves that i just stocked while the mother was not doing anything. I told the kid to get down.
The mother told me to mind my own business.
I was in uniform, told her it's for her child's safety. They refused to listen.
I went to check-out to get my girlfriend to convince them. It didn't work. So, we called our shift manager. He did nothing but told us "see what happens".
True enough, the shelf gave way.
The kid was hurt by the falling cans. We were laughing so hard.
The lady had to compensate us for the broken shelf and all the damaged goods.

The irony of the second story is that his revenge kind of amounted to taking better care of his Dad in his last days than the step brother ever would have, and had he done nothing both would have suffered from it anyways, because the Dad's death would have still eventually deprived the step-brother of his ill-gotten income.

I'm gon be honest, I didn't care AT ALL about the people in the 2ND story after I heard about a dead dog. Imagine the horrible things that dog went through in that terrible house, the helplessness of that poor soul. What kind of monster locks a dog inside a house with cockroaches and rats. If you don't want the dog give them to someone else not fucking torture them. God this kind of shit makes my blood BOIL.

1st story, it's entirely possible based on the description of the entitled customer that she deliberately walking in the glass because she saw an opportunity to sue somebody and OP foiled her plan.
Not the jerk, my aunt had her ex-husband steal her social Security money each month while they were married and continue after they were no longer married and was telling my aunt she was not getting anything until my other Aunt took her into Social Security and found out that he was getting Social Security right away after finding out the 1st my aunts was getting social security my other aunt took her to her bank and set up new account in just 1st aunt's name

*Story 1:* It's insane that some people refuse to take orders from people, even if it's for safety reasons, preferring to learn from experience. Most people see a sign saying *"Warning: broken glass",* or even a verbal warning, they go around, avoiding tracking broken glass around the store. I don't get why this *"karen"* chose to ignore these warnings and go ahead and walk on the broken glass.

And I call possible BS. The local courthouse would not likely have the DD214. It's a federal document. Last time I needed mine, I have to go all the way to St. Louis. There is a document storage facility there that keep these types of documents.

I’m sorry I just can’t side with the OP in the dad story. It sounds like the dad wasn’t doing good either and I understand OP hated him. But making him buried away from his wife and put in a purple urn just sounds like it was evil. I can even side with the life insurance or taking the money since I guess op could feel kinda owed for not having a dad growing up. But that last part makes it seem like he was definently the jerk by the end of it.
Honestly, yeah, but i can kind of see why the op did that, when he encountered his father thrown out and he didn't even asked about op even tho it has been decades without seeing each other... it probably made them lose all the respect the op had towards their father

I hope the second guy has moved on. Dad and his family were terrible people. And the revenge was cathartic to hear about.
But he basically stooped to their level and even a bit beyond to dispense that revenge. It’s just an unhealthy response that hopefully has been worked through now and they can move on with their life.

For the last story, I feel like most if not all of what happened would have still happened similarly even if the dad was on good relationship terms. The only part that was out of line was having him buried in some public cemetery with his least favorite color rather than what he actually wanted. Yes, I think you're the jerk for disrespecting a veteran's death wishes. Outside of that though, everything else that was done felt fairly normal and required? That Shorty guy was definitely abusing his father and taking way too much advantage of him.
I don't think we have a say in the end. Yes, he may be a veteran, but this is years of bad blood catching up and nothing is more personal than your family abandoning you. He was hungry for blood and had a list he wanted to cross out.

Story 2: I think op went a little far. He made his dads last days alive he’ll and ruiithe rest of his sons life. He also was happy someone died form cancer. So like 50/50 you and your dad and shorty are all kind of jerks.
He didn't ruin Shorty's life. Shorty is a criminal, he abused his father and killed the dog (probably by neglect). He will go out of prison some day, and he'll be able to turn his life around.
I mostly agree, but what reassured me a little is that it doesn't sound like he mistreated his dad while he was alive. That, while he was in the nursing home, he had been cared for, probably much better than he was w his step son
