Anna, you have asked several times if Lucifer is wearing guy liner. The answer is; yes he is. In your last Lucifer reaction you commented on how dark Tom's hair is. It is his natural colour. There is a photo of him as a child in various compilation videos here on YT that show this. Also his hair is naturally very curly, they chemically straightened it and then styled it into the Lucifer quiff.

Ah Samael Light-Bringer, the first Archangel or Lucifer Morningstar as he likes to be known. Had a disagreement with God about Humans being prized higher than Angels. Thats what the show avoids going into only the aftermath of God banishing him to Hell. Lucifer turned that into him becoming the King of Hell, ruleing over the Demons and the Dammed. The show is an intresting mix of "the old bible storys VS the DC comic book series VS a modern cop TV show."

I love the repeat use of 'Mr. Set out B*tch', he shows up in every first episode of every new season, with progressively bigger roles. He even has an important role to play for the very last and biggest plot twist. Devinitely a recurring character to keep in mind.

Congratulations, you just discovered the main topic for season 3: The Sinerman ! It also seems that Lucifer is afraid of this person. I hope that they dont meet to soon. ;-)
Although season 3 may have its lengths, it also reveals a lot of information bit by bit. The writers of Lucifer also took a chance and gave some of the characters a more personal episode. That was thoughtfull and I liked it a lot.
I have watched a lot of Lucifer reaction videos now and everytime Tom Welling was shown for the first time, all of the ladies start to moan. It seems that both Toms have some magic charms. 🙂
You seem to have some experience in writing scripts. Your forecast about the squirrel 'Maybe some tires left an imprint on him' hit the bull's eye. Very impressive, very clever !

For his rebellion Lucifer was cast out of Heaven and made the ruler of Hell, but he still had his wings. He could come and go from Earth, but he cannot ever return to Heaven (which was in my opinion his actual punishment). And due to how heavily Amenadiel was trying to get him to return to Hell throughout the first season, it’s implied that if Lucifer stays in Earth too long, then his big brother comes and forces him to go back to Hell and resume his punishment/rule.

The answer to some of your questions will take time for the answers to evolve - some even may drag on into the next season :( And no, Lucifer had already cut off his new wings when he tried to show Chloe his devil face, where if you noticed, just prior, Dan slapped him on the back and he winced in pain.... so he couldn't show her the wings. Yes, Tricia Helfer is such a powerful presence and excellent actress, it would be a shame if she did not play a role in this season, though as you suspect, as actual Charlotte.

More than the details of how that happened, they explained the previous season Lucifer side lost, when his mom was trying to convince him that with the sword he could now win.
We never found out if it was true what she said or if it was a manipulation, that after that god wanted to destroy Lucifer and his mom asked to send him to exile him to hell.
Apparently he is charged with that task, but he is not chained to it, since throughout history he has been known to be seen on Earth throughout the centuries, this time he just felt at home when he found Chloe.

Geez, don't wet yourself Anna. The LT has a story.
We've been assuming that Luci has the freedom to leave Hell, but if Chloe has been prepared for him then it might be a fake choice. Which is why Luci is so angry about it.

As a person that has seen the complete series, I will not give spoilers to what happens...
however from this story of Lucifer... I believe that Lucifer's expulsion from Heaven wasn't meant as a punishment, but because Lucifer was gifted with the ability to draw desire and truth from people and be the "light-bringer" so he was sent to hell to bring light to tormented souls. But Lucifer grew tired of babysitting the worst of humanity so he left.
As for the issues of regrowing wings and loss of "devil-face" will be addressed soon... no spoilers, but it is an interesting reveal.
Also as a huge Smallville fan, Tom Welling was a cool guest... a bit disappointed that "Lex" didn't make a guest cameo just to get a "super" comment it.

  • @jebus7679

At the time Lucifer went to reveal himself to Chloe in the precinct, he couldn't just pop out his wings because as far as he knew he had cut them off again. But even if he could have, I don't know that he would. He's not trying to convince her that the divine is real or that he's an angel. He doesn't want to be an angel. He's the devil. He wants to show her that he is the devil. He doesn't have a lot of proof of that outside of his devil face.
Season 3 is definitely my least favorite in terms of the overall story. That being said, we're introduced to important characters, get a lot of interesting character development, and get set ups for future plot lines.

I'll agree for the most part that season 3 isn't the greatest, except for the last 2 episodes (and I don't mean the extraneous ones Fox tacked on after the actual finale). Those 2 episodes (Quintessential Deckerstar & A Devil of My Word) might be 2 of the best of the series IMHO.

  • @captbunnykiller1.0
    @captbunnykiller1.0 26 дней назад +3

There is one angle to the lore that is reflected in the series which is that the divine conflict errupted because Lucifer was the one demanding that humans be given Free Will, hence the temptation of Eve. In defiance of God's orders he was then punished to serve in Hell torturing those souls whom he had given the free will to make bad choices. His lifestyle on Earth shows his attempt to remedy this injustice, trying to establish that free will doesn't make people bad. You don't have to go far into the show to read the signs; the conversation with Delilah in the first episode reflects Lucifer's sentiment very well. As the Lightbringer he wants to teach people to make their own choices for the best, all to prove his father wrong. As we can see, he has to learn one or two things about that himself still.

You will indeed get some answers about Lucifer's rebellion that got him cast out of Heaven... but not for a couple more seasons. More to look forward to! 😁 But all that's known at this point is he rebelled against God.
I will say, he currently can't access his devil face, but he also would never reveal his wings to Chloe. He wants her to see him as "he really is" -- that is, the way he sees himself -- and he absolutely doesn't think he's angelic. He wants to prove to her he's the devil, and showing her he's an angel would, in his mind, be a lie.

Keeping all the spoilers to myself after hearing the questions you had at the end of your reaction takes some volition. But in terms of the nature of Lucifer's punishment of being sent to Hell after the rebellion, what we know up till now in the series has been vague (most definitely deliberately), between various conversations, Lucifer only states it was a result of the failed rebellion, no mention of the consequences or any actual attribution of guilt otherwise. If you believe the Goddess' account, being sent to Hell was a less destructive alternative that she negotiated, but details are scant.
This season is a good one, but also long - and personally I found the overall length something which was a very slight downside. There are great storylines, character trials and growth, and memorable events, but pacing drags at times which may somewhat dilute the story, or at least the emotional impact. Nevertheless, a great season, just be prepared for marked storytelling differences from the first two seasons.

This isn’t a spoiler but some advice. The last two episodes in the series were broadcast after the season finale.
Lucifer was cancelled suddenly after the network won an NFL contract that was to sit in Lucifer’s time slot. That triggered a fan revolt that ultimately got Lucifer sold to Netflix.
To quell the revolt which included people discussing boycotting the new NFL show, they broadcast two unaired episodes.
The two episodes are character episodes and are really good. However, they make no sense where they are located.
The last two episodes of season three and the first five episodes of season four are a single story arc if you take out the final two episodes because the finale already happened.
So episodes 23 and 24 are logically connected. Episode 24 was the intended finale with its cliff hanger. Episodes 25 and 26 rewind the clock like 23 and 24 never happened but without actually rewinding the clock.
George Washington is crossing the Delaware. He defeats the Hessians at Trenton. Then you watch Paul Revere buy boots just in case he needs to go on a midnight ride to warn should the British attack followed by a guy mowing the lawn at Lexington noticing a gathering of British soldiers and figuring he had better hurry and get finished.
    They are jolting.
If I were you, I would watch 25 and 26 before 23 and 24, even if you broadcast them in the correct order.

Congrats on making it to season 3 and the series first "true" villian the Sinnerman. Now fyi though this season is 26 episodes, the season finale (at the time the series finale) was episode 24. the twenty fifth and twenty-sixth episodes were "bonuses" that have no impact on the seasons storyline and could be inserted anywhere. I recommend fitting them in BEFORE you get to episode 24 so it doesn't lessen the finale's impact

Season three is, if nothing else, a very mixed bag! It's definitely got some _great_ bits, but also has more than one of the show's worst episodes, IMO. (No spoilers on which is which, though.) My understanding is that there was a lot of network interference this season; the network wasn't happy with the demographics of the show's audience. And, of course, the show was cancelled at the end of the season.

Yeah unless you want to go through a bunch of Catholic dogma and literature just the act of the rebellion and its failure put Lucifer in Hell. The thing is most of this is the dogma and literature written in since the middle ages. Does the comic or TV show define it? Not really but relies on what is common knowledge in Christian mythology.
