i know what it is. it's like the doc robot fights from megaman 3. but it uses 9 bosses from the previous megaman games. 1 from each sequel. capcom chose which ones to be used.
It's a fortress. I think it just has the impenitrable feel to it only fortesses have. That, and it lacks towers. Another thing Megaman always did nice was the music. Love it. The weapon archive bosses are... interesting, to say at least. Interesting way to add difficulty without making more Robot Masters. Or increase the health cap of 28 units. BTW... did you buy the energy balancer in this playthrough?
Correction: you CAN jump over Frost Man's Ice Wave. Not sure why you said in the description that Frost Man's Ice Wave is too big to jump over, especially as you did jump over one at 10:50. Still, your plan of jumping over the Frost Man unit as it's about to fire off an Ice Wave does seem to work.

There is no slide in this game. (There is no charge shot either.) This is also what I refer to as an "honest playthrough." I was playing the game with no prior knowledge of it and have recorded and uploaded every single death that I succumbed to in this stage.

Thank you. Part of why I put this up is to show that, to a normal person, the mega Man games ARE pretty hard. (Many people miss the point though.)
