Played through as Mega Man on the normal difficulty mode
The first time I played Mega Man 10, I can specifically recall not expecting a whole lot out of it. I really wasn't a big fan of Mega Man 9, feeling that it was little more than a cheaply done cash-in on one of Capcom's biggest franchises.
I can also quite well recall just how much this game shocked me by blowing away any expectations that I did have for it. The format is similar to that used in MM9 - it is a "new" NES lookalike game based on Mega Man 2's mechanics, but unlike MM9, all of the graphics and sounds are new! The robots were more creatively designed, the weapons weren't merely recycled from older games, and the branching paths led to surprisingly different areas in their stages. Granted, the story is virtually copy-and-pasted from Mega Man Battle Network Transmission, but really - nobody plays Mega Man for the plot, do they?
I loved the graphics and sound on this one. They stay mostly faithful to what you'd see in a late-era NES title, and I really liked the creativity that went into some of these level designs. A few fall flat (like the ugly poo-brown sewer stage), but most of stages are really memorable this time around. Those cutscenes are not something you'd see on the NES, though. They're way too colorful and in my opinion, they're just ugly and cheap looking. Oh well, I guess you can't have it all.
I also loved the soundtrack - unlike MM9's music (which I felt was generally lame - too upbeat and totally generic sounding overall despite a few standouts), Mega Man 10's music made me feel like I was actually playing a new (old school) Mega Man title once again. These composers managed to perfectly align the style with the spirit of 1988 video gaming, and my inner child thanks them for it.
Finally, the game play felt good - just like 8-bit Mega Man should, and thankfully, the weak-sauce difficulty level of Mega Man 9 was upped a bit here. Playing on normal mode is a fair step up from the challenge of MM9, and I think that is a large part of why I enjoyed it so much. It's not an insanely difficult game by any means, but it's not a pushover.

After Mega Man 9, I didn't expect much from this sequel. Big mistake! Mega Man 10 is *awesome* in a way the series hadn't seen since the early 1990s. Who else is ready for 11?

Croby Yeah ik! I have this game on Legacy Collection 2 on my Nintendo Switch, which is the first time I played it! (Idk what emulators was back then so Mega Man 7 and 8 was what I really wanted) but still it’s the best Mega Man game ever! (It’s better than mega man 11 because it has Proto man and bass, a cooler story, More Levels, Even more things you can do after story mode, (geez those dumb challenges from mega man 11) and mega man 10 brings back the retro just like mega man 9! So yeah, playing mega man 10 was the best game of my life. In fact, I love the Wily Stage Boss so much that I listen to it every single freaking day! So yeah, playing mega man 10 was the best game of my life! And I still like it to this day! Again, Happy 10th Anniversary, Mega Man 10! 😄

Devils advocate, both MMX and MMZ have overarching plots through all there games (Even though MMX was supposed to stop at X5). OG MM really didn't have an overarching plot until MM6-7.

@@amso7169 Using 8-bit at the style and using actualy 8-bit limitations are different.
Mega Man 10, along with games like Cyber Shadow - are examples on how great 8-bit can be.
Most other 8-bit sytled indies are just... mimicking 8-bit style, or at least, what they consider as 8-bit.
Mega Man 9 and 10 are definitely two of the best in the series. It’s easy to forget while playing them that they didn’t actually come out for the NES.

This was the last Mega Man title they did, not only original series, but also in the entire brand. Afterwards, we infamously enter to a long dormancy for 8 years. Thankfully, said dormancy will finally end later this year with Mega Man 11. And yes, Im ready for that game!

Every Mega Man seems to have that one, or maybe two, stage song or songs that just make the game epic... Solar Man's theme was just kick ass right from the start.
Mega Man 2 and Mega Man 5 had the majority of their tunes be absolute bangers. Mega Man 3 and Mega Man 6 had about half good tunes. Mega Man 1, Mega Man 4 and Mega Man 9 had very meh music.

Chris Lol Yeah if you look on the wiki Roll is Mega Man’s little sister. Proto Man is Mega Man’s big brother because you first meet him in Mega Man 3. So yeah together Proto Man and Mega Man are both brothers of Roll

I dunno, I can see why you'd make that mistake, especially with other versions of Roll, like in Legends or Battle Network, harboring deeper feelings for their MegaMan counterparts.

Almost too retro. They fixed what's not broken by taking away sliding and charged shots. They should've picked up where MM6 left off stylistically.

@@GlitchAGES Roll is a robot. I'd doubt the virus that mustn't be named would affect anything inorganic.
While I like that her compassion is what saves the day, the Roboenza is supposed to turn robots hostile yet she never succumbs to it... missed opportunity to fight a corrupted Roll in another callback to MMBN.

Am I the only one who feels Mega Man 10 is _severely_ underrated? I honestly think Mega Man 9 was a very weak game, and this game fixed a lot of the problems for me, such as the cheap level design and spike fetish.
I still prefer the evolution of the series that we saw in games like 7 and MM&B, but I thought this was a very good second shot.
9 was built for the fans of the earlier hard games, my guess is 10 was built for the fans of the easier later games, or enough people complained about 9's difficulty (I had no issue clearing it) that they decided to hold back on the difficulty a bit for 10.
MEGAMAN 10. After they added Bass as a playable character, it felt like 3 different games in 1, one featuring Megaman, the 2nd Protoman, and finally one with Bass, it feels like a triple package.

Imagine in Megaman 12, if we got to choose either Splash Woman, Kalinka, or Roll as a navigator during a level just like Megaman X8, and we got to play as Megaman, Proto Man or Bass just like in MM10, and there would be different armors for each character (a Quint armor for Megaman, or a Breakman armor for Protoman).

I am surprised how this Mega Man video game for the Wii that was released way back in 2010 still managed to retain its retro nostalgic style, look and feel!
Almost worth it just for the awesome shop music.
Pretty easy compared to mega man 9 in both modes, but a great game, I enjoyed the power ups (not as much as the 9 ones) but the music was great too. Definitely one of my favorite mega man games for me

This is so strange why the heck did mega man 9 and 10 get down graded to 8 bits like it's back on the original Nintendo 🤔 and its on a more upgraded system.
To my knowledge, it was made during the time Keji Inafune or CAPCOM in general thought since Mega Man 2 was the best recieved Mega Man game, they wanted 9 and 10 to be as much like it as possible. That's also why Mega Man has no slide or charge shot in both games either.
The quicksand from Commando Man’s stage reminds me of that from Super Mario 2! And those groups of flying flame enemies from Solar Man’s stage remind of Fryguy, also from Super Mario 2....

The ONLY thing that i dislike about mm9 & 10, is no sliding, and no charged sh0ts.....otherwise, they look like badass games. I say that, because after 4-8, they took away 2 those vital attributes after youve basically had the charged for 4 games already, and the slide since mm3.
If you want Charged Shots, go for Proto Man. If you want the slide, go for Bass.

The new(er) gen consoles, when releasing retro style megaman games never seem to go for the 16 bit style but always the 8 bit which makes sense as I think the 8 bit games are more beloved.....I even think they played better, had tighter more accurate controls and more character.

I spent like an hour trying to find which game it was, I thought it was one of the first ones on the NES. I can’t believe I misremembered part of my childhood this incorrectly! I went through a bunch of channel’s videos going in the games’ release dates (some from this channel, too) and I kept thinking the Mendela Effect got me. Glad I made it, though.

No joke. Please don't argue in the comments, please. But this is my favorite Mega Man game of all time for a few reasons. For one thing, I just really enjoy the Robot Masters and their stages, they're all just some of the most creative in the series. I mean, come ON, SHEEP MAN, anyone? What a brilliant idea! His stage is cyberspace! I love it!! Nitro Man is also epic, because he is a motorcycle. The soundtrack is great, all around too, and the Wily stages are some of my favorite of all time. Who knows: Maybe Mega Man 11 will be *even better?* I'll just have to wait and see! ^^
Mega Man X4 is probably my 2nd fav Mega Man game, overall. ^^
megaman 2 has some major flaws that cant be overlooked, so i dont sound like i only hate megaman 2 ill point out the flaws of 3 since its my favorite
1st of all: metal blade, i know i use it but it breaks the game in many ways, (quick boomerang is another alternative of a broken weapon)
1st in megaman 3: the bosses, Top man and hard man what a lovely pair of robot masters.
2nd: Heat man's yoku blocks, i dont need to say anything else.
2nd in megaman 3: theres 2 weakness chains, top man, shadow man, spark man, magnet man and hard man, since no other 3 robot master has a weakness that you have, you need to do snake man, gemini man and needle man.
3rd: Wily 1, The music is WAY OVERRATED, the stage is short and the fact that it requires item 1 is awful design (oh this isnt the last of it)
3rd in megaman 3: DOC ROBOTS, who ever thought of these must rethink their life, theres new weaknesses and these guys are a PAIN to do buster only with some doing 1/3 of your life by contact damage, or they changed the original AI for whatever reason.
4th: E-Tank system, we dont keep our e-tanks if we get a game over
4th in megaman 3: Wily is very generous with e-tanks/1-ups in this game.
5th: Wily 4, long stage, invisible blocks, grinding is impossible since the only enemies are sniper joes and walker joes and the boss... SCREW IT making it so that the only weapon its weak to is the crash bomber sucks, 60% of the time you have to die in order to grind again.
5th in megaman 3: rush jet... oh look its broken rush jet yay.... flty freely and dont consume weapon energy when you jump, i can easily see how you can manipulate that.
6th: final boss, it sucks alien is weak to bubble lead and really... the fight is boring
6th in megaman 3: Top spin weaknesses, Shadow man, megaman holograms and gamma... wow so much bosses, its like the silver tomahawk in megaman 6.
7th in megaman 3 (2 only has 6): Gamma, simple: rush jet then fly on platform -> hard knuckle and kill the brain? -> top spin and jump on wily and game finished.
Well well. Nice to see someone really liked MegaMan 10 because i really don't see alot who like it, it's my second favorite MegaMan Game and i completely agree with you.
Also MegaMan 6 is my all time favorite

I had an item to protect against spikes. Right afterward, I went into the menu to show it. It's at the bottom on the Item screen. You can see a shoe with triangles under it - that's what saved me.

Mega Man 10 is where Mega Man fights eight new Robot Masters, who were created by different companies and went berserk because of a disease for robots called Roboenza (I look at it as the series’ own influenza and coronavirus), which came from an unknown source (Sheep Man, Pump Man, Solar Man, Chill Man, Nitro Man, Commando Man, Blade Man, and Strike Man, numbered 73-80 because there are 72 others before them in the first nine games). It’s where the graphics were copied from the first two games for nostalgia, as you don’t charge your weapon or slide, but you can use Rush and buy stuff, like the ninth game. It is also where you can play as Proto Man. It has the DLC, where you get to play as Bass, he was gone in Mega Man 9 for some reason, and fight Wily’s three powerful and completely evil robots from the five Game Boy Mega Man games, Enker, Punk, and Ballade. It was sad to see Roll getting sick from the disease. Doctor Wily was kind enough to help Doctor Light find the cure for the disease, but actually, Wily is the one who created the disease, so he used the cure to blackmail people into letting him take ver the world. He made Mega Man, Proto Man, and Bass sick with the disease, but they got cured. Roll did a noble thing in MM10 by sacrificing her dose to cure Mega Man. She also got cured by another dose during the events of the game, anyway. After Mega Man defeated all eight of these RMs, he freed them from Wily’s mind-control, and then Doctor Light cured the robots from the disease and adopted them as his new sons. They are doing jobs (I can say the same to the RMs from the first nine games). I love the part where you enter three rooms that copied powers from nine Robot Masters from the first nine games. Boy, I want a remake that has the same graphics and bonus stuff as Mega Man 11. And/or, a 3-D action-adventure remake/version that does all this, and the 3-D part would be like Kirby and the Forgotten Land in 2022 rather than Mega Man X7 (that game was weird).🙏 Commando Man is my favorite in MM10.

Great. I love Mega Man but this storyline is eerily similar to the pandemic happening right now. I'm losing a lot of interest in movies, music, and video games because it has conspiracy elements everywhere in everything you see and hear, and now play! Sounds dumb if you really aren't paying attention and the rest are purposely ignoring it pretending nothing is wrong but you'll see and you'll have no choice but to make a decision where you stand
I have been watching mega man speed runs to try and relax (health care worker) and I stumbled on this game and it really is spooky how similar this story line is to all the bullshit going on. Anyway, stay safe out there brother

I'm from the Megaman 1 Era and done played many Megaman games but Megaman 3 is the best you got to beat all mm3 bosses 2 times plus you gotta beat the mm2 bosses also

Mega Man & Bass (No reason other than the level design is awful.)
Mega Man 5 (Kinda bland in my opinion.)
Mega Man 3 (I agree with Inafune; the game does feel rushed.)
Mega Man 8 (Laughably bad voice acting, and the controls feel kinda loose.)
Mega Man 1 (Three words: First Game Syndrome.)
Mega Man 2 (Overrated, but still enjoyable in my opinion.)
Mega Man 4 (A very nice increase of quality.)
Mega Man 10 (Gets _WAY_ too much hate for me.)
Mega Man 7 (This game was the introduction of Bass; how could I NOT love this game?)
Mega Man 6 (Tournament Arc!)
Mega Man 11 (The Double Gear System is a cool mechanic, and they brought back the charge shot and slide.)
Mega Man 9 (Easily the best in my opinion.)

Mega Man 2 (the classic of classics still holds up!)
Mega Man 6 (Didn't revolutionize much but has stellar music, levels, and the Rush adaptors)
Mega Man 11 (the most recent Blue Bomber is short yes but makes up for it with everything else, some music tracks are forgettable though)
Mega Man 5 (it is fairly easy but reminds me of 2 and is fun anyway)
Mega Man 3 (a great time but feels rushed in some parts and I hate the Doc Robots)
Mega Man 7 (pretty good, a nice 16-bit jump for Mega Man, feels cheap in some places though, and that damn final Wily boss...)
Mega Man 4 (a good time, underrated for sure, though suffers similar flaws to 7)
Mega Man 10 (good game, but a little repetitive for being #10 and the weapons aren't that good)
Mega Man (it's alright, screams first game in a series for sure)
Mega Man 8 (the only game I can legitimately say I don't like, it can be cruel, the cutscenes are hilariously bad, most of the music is bad, the gimmicks suck, the weapons suck, never play this one)
I haven't finished 9, and I haven't played Mega Man & Bass yet (though I will in March when my Super Famicom cartridge comes in the mail)

Not quite as good as 9 IMO, but I loved me some 8 bit return of Mega Man, even if for only 2 games before Capcom completely changes everything for Mega Man 11.

@@xwf1000v3 It was a return to form after Mega Man 7 and 8, neither bad, but neither as great as the 8 bit games, whether it was sprites too big, like in 7, or the unbalanced final Wily battle, or the fact most don't like the game (I'm not one of those people, I am fine with 7), and 8 having music that really didn't feel like Mega Man, not to mention the painful snowboard stages, or Rockman and Forte, which was heavily unbalanced against Rock/Mega Man (still a good game though). 9 returned the series back to it's roots, no slide, no charge shot (And I am one of those whose favorite game in the series is 4, the first to introduce the charge shot). I had no issue either clearing, watching enough playthroughs of it to learn the game, and let's not forget the soundtrack, which was back to form for Mega Man.
Let's face it, 7 and 8 (Rockman and Forte can't really count as we never got it in it's original format in the west) didn't live up to the first 6 games.
@@Bloodreign1 You may have a strong opinion on that game but still don’t like the game due to the weapon system & some of the levels in the game. Should have been more specific on why the game was bad when I made that comment but eh not going to lose sleep over it. Have no issue with the game going back to Old School & whatnot. 7 & 8 was good & also there was a 8 bit versions of those games in Japan. Do know they are working on the 8 bit version of 11 right now but not sure when that will be done.
