Bugatti (part of VW Group) delivered the first Chiron in 2016 and broke 300 (one way) in 2019. We delivered our first F5 this year. If it takes one of the biggest companies in the world 3+ years then it’s certainly not easy to do. We will continue the journey and appreciate you coming along with us.
@@HennesseyPerformanceF5 yeah but Bugatti released the Chiron Super Sport 300+ in 2019 to specifically break 300, the normal Chiron was not made to. Your F5 is made to break 300 from scratch so u cant use that excuse
you should have also caught that the car started to swerve....something you dont want at those speeds not to mention the idea of diminishing returns, ever extra mile per hour needs far more power and aerodynamics then the mile per hour that was just crossed (its not a linear scale)
This is the best way to tackle this. A test-run, a discussion, and future goals. not quite 300+, but seemingly considerably more transparency than another company's initial run
i dont think they deserve 100% of the slander they've been getting, but videos like this remind me of what you said: more transparency = better trust and fandomship
That sounds amazing. I can't wait to see it break that 300 mph barrier. I have been following along since day one. The original venom was and still is one of my all-time favorite cars right next to this generation. I wish I could afford to get behind the wheel of the original and next generation venom!

So nice to see Hennessey giving honest updates throughout their development of a car that 99.999% of us will never own but are gearheads invested in watching the development of an American hypercar. I would love to see vids of this car inch closer and closer to 300MPH. I hope none of the owners attempt a max speed run without a firesuit, HANS, and a parachute.
The only thing a driver is going to need if one of these gets away from them at 275+ mph is their head between their legs to kiss their ass goodbye. Going to be nothing left.

Just met John at Goodwood Festival Speed today. What a cool guy and big thanks for letting my son sit in the Venom F5, he will remember today for the rest of his life! It's a truly stunning car and sounded fantastic going up the hill breathing fire.
I’m really proud of the Hennessy venom holding up to the hypercar standards, i would love to see it break 300mph, but I’m glad this car is nothing too lie about
29 mph doesn’t seem like much but at those speeds that last 29 mph to reach 300 is absolutely an enormous hurdle to overcome. I really hope they can pull it off. I know how long and hard they have worked on this and unlike Bugatti they don’t have a billion dollar company funding them….. it’s a reality tiny team of people who just love performers cars which really makes you want to see them on top. A bit of a David vs Goliath situation.
in all honesty that ship has sailed.....i'd love to see them achieve their goals....but there is already cars in production that are homologated world wide that will touch or damn well nearly touch 300,,, i.e Jesko, Chiron.....most people don't even know what the car is when they see it.....they need to get promotion and get a decent customer basis
Yes, but I chlocked the time it takes to go from 200 m/h up to 271 m/h and it was 25 sek. I also checked the video of the Bugatti Chirion SS 300 + going from 200 m/h till 271 m/h and it took 17 sek...... That is 8 sek. faster than Hennesy Venom F5. But anyway, I am impressed.
1:44 - that pull from 130 up to 180 was absolutely insane. Raw power, perfectly placed into gears. I still love the Venom GT more (look and sound), but this was incredibly impressive.
I remember as a kid in the 90s how it was such a big deal for the F40 and 959 to break 200mph and now cars breeze past 200 like it’s nothing. The idea of breaking 300mph still blows my mind! I remember just a short time ago, watching the video of the Agera RS hitting 284!! Then the “special” Chiron breaking 300!! What a time to be alive as a car guy!! I think you guys should do what the folks at Koenigsegg did and shut down a 12 mile section of straight smooth asphalt and show what the F5 can really do when it has room to truly stretch its legs!!!
Maybe some GoPro stabilization is at work here, but that looked incredibly smooth for a hard-charge up to 271MPH. Really impressed by the Chiron-like stability, can’t wait to see this thing stretch it’s legs up to 300+

Ever since I got behind the wheel I've always had a goal of doing 200 miles an hour. You know responsibly in control and I got to tell you that video gave me goosebumps.
For a moment there the car was accelerating so fast I thought the speedo was reading in kph not mph. All I can say is Jesus Christ guys, even if it doesn't go 300mph that thing gonna whoop some ass at 0-400-0 challenge. At the end of the day, the track makes or breaks a top speed run, hope that Nevada road Koenigsegg got the previous WR on can work out well enough.
Thanks for update. Glad you are still aiming for +300mph (it is not cheap to do it right). I think it can hit 300mph on the right tarmac and the right air density. Even you never hit it, it is a fantastic car from such a small shop.

My original comment is based on the fact that you wouldn't want a stand out supercar to sound like a typical 30-40k American car/truck with a magnaflow exhaust. Those guys are literally the equivalent of the Honda going 0-60 in 4 business days at 3am in the morning.

Especially among the lesser known brands, because alot of them will cut production costs and slap a variation of an LS in there. I wouldn't say that's adding spice. Now if you just prefer that typical American v8 sound, that's a different story. Nothing wrong with that at all. I just hear so many of those day-to-day that the sound isn't a head turner for me personally. If I heard that while I'm pumping gas I'm just going to assume there's a modified Mustang, camaro, challenger, charger, Ram or vette gunning it past me. On the contrary, you hear a v10 and it's either a huracan, r8, or viper with the slim chance that it could be a bmw. I hear a flat plane, and depending on the exhaust note, it could be a myriad of Ferraris, the newest version of a c8, or a mclaren.

I think the heighest it could do is probably no more than 280, theres no way it can do 300 if it was already struggling at 270

The 100-200 mph is about 9 seconds and not even at full throttle. 9 seconds is faster than most cars 0-100 mph. Impressive! Great job Hennessey.

On the contrary, you hear a v10 and it's either a huracan, r8, or viper with the slim chance that it could be a bmw. I hear a flat plane, and depending on the exhaust note, it could be a myriad of Ferraris, the newest version of a c8, or a mclaren.

Something happened there for sure. Test and tune, bad ass either way right
Losing 2mph is not bad at all at that speed. If the car had standard manual it would’ve lost 5+mph during each shift in upper gears at high speeds
