Help
I think 🤔 my Betta Fish has an internal worm invasion. I need help on what meds to use. He is very Sensitive to Meds.
Haha, coffee is super-healthy for my attitude - ‘cause coffee and good attitude is everything!!!😃
lol, We are like twins.
THE Greg Jones here, our snow whites are brothers and sisters, i think that makes us adoptive dad bros. When mine start breeding I'll give you some the next time i see you. On the topic of wood and plecos, i'm actually considering carving some shallow wooden bowls to smear repashy gel food onto in order to closely mimic natural grazing and promote more wood consumption, my theory is the softer the wood the easier they get what they need for digestion. From my own experience, when i tried raising fry without wood they randomly died for no reason, so i'm inclined to offer more wood and diverse food choices all day/night long to keep them grazing
You so smart.
Hey Greg! Nice to know you're still in the hobby. Good luck with your projects.
White plecos? I'm intrigued.
Oooooooolong tea while I work a Sunday. Obviously very busy...
Is it weird I read oooooooooolong out loud?
Thanks Michael. I look forward to the updates on how the breeding comes along. I LOVE the beard!
Thanks!
Never seen snow white very cool
Creepy
Loved seeing this vid, I've got 8 of them I'm growing out to breed as well. They're very tough to find here in Dallas, had to get mine online. So far about 1 1/2"
Good Luck!
Good luck with your breeding projects! I look forward to sharing the journey!
Thanks for watching!
I wish you luck🍀!!!
So far, I haven't had even one make it to adulthood. I have no problem with my many other bnp types. They breed LIKE CRAZY! I end up giving many away.
I actually love❤the white color more than the yellowish albinos. Oh, why can't I keep them alive😣? It's gotta be regional genetics.
I hope🤞 you figure out the mystery of these beautiful fish so we can get them from YOU!
Thanks!
Here in Melbourne Australia, I have not yet seen these snow while BN. I love the new front cave looks great.. (I am making my own caves from fallen tree branches, I cut them to size then drill them out, nice n cheap Free hahah) All of my Bristlenose Plecos love wood in their tanks they eat it and the film on it. I have never tried leaves or any botanicals... maybe one day I will try them. I love the bloopers as always.. Best part I rekon haha......
Free is best!
I love the snow whites have an adult longfin pair myself
Nice
Hi there, I just got one, it is pure white. Do they change colour as they get older?
@@demiraygoldberg hi no my pair is full adult and are still pure white
@@demiraygoldberg I don’t think so, why?
My snow whites are machines. They spawn like crazy for me so far. Also growing out some longfin snows to breed $$$$
Nice
Man, if I were half as funny and handsome, I’d start adding bloopers too. One day. Love your vids as always. Snow White plecos should be interesting
Lol
I’ve got 6 juveniles growing in my 90gal summer tub for about a month. They love the drift wood and all the algae the sun grows in there. Cute as Super Reds in my opinion
Nah…creepy!
Something new in the fish room? Nice!
Yes, thanks
Nice - Botanicals are fantastic for many many fish and all fry grow outs regardless of those species . Thanks for the vid Mike
Thanks for watching!
Great set up. Good luck. Can't wait to see the results.
Me too!
To each their own, but I think they're beautiful. I have a friend in Canada who just scored one with long fins and I'm jealous as hell. I'd throw my money at them.
Lol
Plecos for Halloween. Might be a good sales pitch.
maybe
They good to get if you are new to fish
Are you asking or telling me?
@@MichaelsFishRoom I was asking for your advice sorry my spelling is not very good
@@ashleyjones7561 they are more sensitive than other bristlenose species, so I would not start with one.
@@MichaelsFishRoom ok thank u for that
Grab yourself healthy snacks & beverages and share it with Micky ;) thank you for such a breeding advise.
Thanks for watching!
I'm digging the beard !
Thanks
Ordered some mutt guppies today. I love a sale. I'm not a fan of albino fish of any kind. The red eyes freak me out. I have botanicals in all my tanks. I like the way they look. I believe they are good for my fish.
Thanks so much for the order! I’ll ship on Monday!
Best sales pitch ever. They look hideous and creepy. I hate them. LOL. Congrats on the snow whites. Cheers
Lol
I’m kind of like you Michael. I’m not to wild about the white Plecos but I’d love to see how you do with them. 👍
Thanks!
You going ZZ Top with the beard?
You will have to keep watching to see…..😎
I would post a pic, but I can’t 😆
email through my website.
@@MichaelsFishRoom okay 👍
Just a heads up if u feed krill flake to that tank ur Snow White plecos will loose the whiteness and go a pinky/peachy colour
Thanks!
a new video so we can se how much they grown would be nice.
You can see their growth in my fish room tours.
How do you feed the fish when you go out of town, I feel trapped and don’t trust automatic feeders, thank you, definitely would like to see a video on this, been watching your videos and find them interesting and informative 👍
I don't, I've been away for 14 days before and everyone was fine. There is plenty to eat in an established tank.
Will you start supplying smaller plecos varieties like the clown or mini snowball or butterfly plecos? Quite expensive but very cool. Whatever brings you sheckles
Bristlenose stay pretty small.
approximately how many generations would it take to create the snow white pleco phenotype from "L144" blue eye lemon plecos? these guys are hard to find in australia.
No idea
Fried chicken, potato salad, salad
I love fried chicken
Never had luck with the snow whites
On Tuesday im getting L181 and the L471 to hopefully breed i have luck with the other colours of the standard bristlenoses I have the super reds, the green dragons, lemon blue eyes and the standards
Good luck!
@@MichaelsFishRoom you too with your snow whites
where can i find those hand made caves
They are not being made anymore. But www.kjeaquatics.com has some nice ones.
Please help I’ve seen Parasites and many sicknesses in Betta Fish, I treated him with Kanaplex and General Cure. He stopped eating before. Now he comes up to the glass, but has been floating on his side since March.
oof
How did their first spawns go assuming you had both sexes? I'm picking some up today and I'd love to know about the problems you've faced with them, I already do super reds, but I've been reading about warped spines, stunted growth and one eyed fry. One thing I do think you have right is adding botanicals for tanins, this was already my plan. The anti bacterial and anti fungal properties could well help if the eggs are weak, to my mind by making the eggs grow without big attacks from fungus and bacteria, you're supporting the development of the embryo, that being said I'm also not a fan of the methylene blue approach as I dont see how raising them in sterile conditions will help support a strong immune system, they need exposure to certain things, but it needs to be exposure in safe doses. Just my theory, but it makes sense to me. I didn't grow up in a perfectly sterile environment, and I dont think eggs should either.
Never had a spawn. They are not any different than other bristle nose morphs.
Thanks, I have collected my fish, I completely agree that they're ugly, but they are pricey, so definitely worth having if they spawn. I'm pretty sure I've got 3 females and a male, though they're a bit too small to be certain, hopefully you'll have some luck some time soon, and fingers crossed I'll have a bit more luck than you have so far with them.
I am interested in plecos but I wonder how do you see if its a boy or girl ?
Depends on the pleco.
What does it mean if my strip shows Acidic
What does it mean for what? What is the PH?
Any update?
Nope, sorry.
Btw, the ancistrus wood myth isn't one as far as I can tell. Because of how their intestines work, my hypothesis is that the wood fiber (lignin) they accidentally eat by grazing the biofilm on the wood helps with their digestion. This is the reason that often failure with ancistrus is linked to lack of wood. They aren't specific wood eaters, but they need tons of fiber and wood is an easy natural fiber that supplement their diet because of the way it breaks down and grows a biofilm for easy grazing. I've noticed in all my ancistrus breeding tanks, that spider wood especially, gets thinner as the years go by...
Talk to experts , they will tell you wood is Not required for ancistrus - It is all about the bio-film upon it
That being said I add wood and botanicals for that Bio-film
If it works, it’s right for you.
@@kjeaquatics I didn't say it's required. I specifically mentioned that I believe that the reason it helps is the accidental ingestion of fiber. It could be that it's simply the biofilm that grows on botanicals, but I'd argue that grazing on botanicals causes the accidental ingestion of fiber. Have you ever seen a leaf after being grazed on for a while by an ancistrus? It gets eaten. I doubt that's because it was specifically eating said leaf or wood, but there definitely is ingestion of the wood. For the same reason that wood in ancistrus tanks breaks down faster compared to tanks without it. I have spoken with "experts" as that's really a subjective term, and they've said that my hypothesis makes sense.
Again I'd like to reiterate, this is my theory, it could be that I'm wrong and that it's just the biofilm needed. If that was the case I'd expect to see survival of baby ancistrus in tanks with biofilm supplement, lots of algae and no wood, but in my experience, there is always a higher survival rate with wood.
In any case "talk to experts" isn't really an argument. If you could mention names of so called experts I would definitely be more than glad to go listen to what they have to say and see what they think about my idea.
Have a great day 😊
@@Shadow_Arbor ok buddy . Thanks for your thesis
Bro you have been coughing for years... Are you sure that you are fine?
Yup, you can even buy a shirt to prove it.
But what does the cup saaaaay????
You will have to pause the video in the bloopers to read it.....
@@MichaelsFishRoom LOL Couldn't quite read it all, but got most of it.
We did not even see them ! Ehy you didn't put them on display container !
Nope, you just have to keep watching the video.
I'm having trouble with these plecos. I have a proven breeder female and a young 1 year old male. Nothing I do will get them to breed. I've been breeding Super red long fins without any issues for years. Really not sure what's going on. The female is two years old.
Maybe they don’t like each other? What are you feeding? What is the temp?
@@MichaelsFishRoom definitely possible that they just aren't a match 🤣 I've seen the male try and trap the female in his cave but also chase her alway.
I'm feeding them my own DIY dry food that I make from spirulina, BSF larvae, moringa, spinach and more. My Super reds seem to breed fine with it, but maybe switching up the food might help.
It's really hot here in Israel, so atm water temperature is 26. I tried a cool water change with soft ro water today. Hopefully that'll get them in the mood!
