Do a water change and leave the water low for several hours---even a day if you want--- so water flows out of a HOB filter like a waterfall. Then top off the tank and put in a little extra food and within a few days you will have eggs. They love that feeling that there is tons of food and fresh water. Works every time for me.

That's what I do. Hob waterfall works great
I do something similar. But I use a spray bar from a canister filter.

I feed my pleco's spirulina algae wafers, fresh zucchini, fresh cucumber, fresh baby spinach leaves, fresh green beans. I don't blanch any of my foods, I just rinse them first then let them air dry, cut up if needed and then feed to the tanks. I usually buy a few cucumber and zucchini ever 2-3 weeks, I cut up one lot and feed to the tank that day and the rest I put into freezer bags and freeze ready for later that week or next. I defrost on the day when needed and just put into the tanks when at room temp. Simple. I did a video the other week showing how I prep my foods for the tanks.

Theoretically some of your longfin fry will be longfin, but in real life it could be different. I’ve been noticing a shortage of French cut green beans at my local Walmart’s.

Why don't you just buy regular cut? It works fine and you get more for your money.
I use a stainless steal skewer for cabobs!
Just slide the green beans onto the skewer and tie a small string to the end. Just set the loaded skewer into the tank and leave the string hanging out of the top of the tank. When they have finished the green beans, just pull up the skewer with the string and re load it! Make sure the skewer doesn’t have a sharp point. You don’t want anything that can harm your fish.
I prefer doing things this way because you can load a lot, or just a little bit. It’s easy to remove to add more and the plecos know exactly where the food will be so they can easily get what they need in one place. Green beans are my staple for them, but I also feed algae wafers and pellets for bottom feeders to make sure they get all the nutrients they require to stay healthy and breed readily!

I have Bristlenoses,bought two and was lucky enough for one to be male and the other female.So...at the moment I have the Bristlenose Daddy lol,carefully guarding young,which hatched just two days ago,cant wait for them to emerge from the cave,love this hobby and your videos :)

Hi Michael! Lol Yeah, I followed the green bean instructions to the letter. I got French cut, no salt & drained them. I bought a pleco block (ZooMed) & they eat that, I've seen them! I noticed a couple of veggie six gone, too. Mine are always being unusual. Got GF spitting & moving gravel like cichlids!

Guppy’s don’t lay eggs. They MAY be your first issue.

Question,I had 30 African cichlids in a black Rubbermaid 100 gallon stock tank,with 3 sponge filters and a sun sun canister filter,thing is every other day I would get a fish or two die,no diseases and the water perameters were good,I only ask because I see you use those same tanks
What does “good” mean?

I have a younger breeding group of longfin albino plecos i cant get them to eat the sinking pellets or wafers. Any suggestion on food i can try. Im gonna get some cucumber and zucchini today to see if that works. I was also told they enjoy watermellon have you tried watermelon if so let me know how it went

Someone didn't tell my plecos that they like green beans. Won't touch them! Not cucumber, zucchini, or Chayote (Mexican squash).

I like your videos, but I dont understand letting the mulm build up so much. I'm aware it looks worse than it actually is and a pristine tank is not necessary. Its always been my belief that extra waste is an invitation to fish health issues. I'm not hating.....maybe I'm wasting my time clearing my tanks daily.
I get such good results in the pleco tanks because it is a source of all day food.
