Woohoo!! I finally have my first batch of longfinned Albino pleco babies in my tank that had not had any breedings. I took your advice, moved things around and bingo!! Thanks for the advice.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who has multiple brain farts in a day sometimes.
We aren't in lock down yet but have gone to only essential businesses open, social distancing & only go out if you need to etc . They have not closed schools in our state just yet but asked if you can keep kids home, keep them home . My 2 are home from tomorrow onwards.
We have had kids home for a week now, as well as I have been working from home for a week.
I will be happy when we are passed this.

I’m new to bristlenose plecos, I’ve got one large male for sure, and 3 other bristlenose of which I’m pretty certain 1 is a female, I’ve watched your video on breeding them. My water temp is 79f the ph is 7, but could you please tell what are the best water conditions for me to try and get them to breed. 🤔

Thank you for the great video. Just getting started into plecos by accident. Have one male albino and two female albino and dark bristle nose. Found out they had bred when I was cleaning out tank inside a nice china made resin decoration. So have fry in 20L. Wasn’t expecting 50 fry when I went to take it out.

Michael's Fish Room already talked to local fish store to sell there. Just started taking my angels over there when all this hit. So hopefully they will be ready for some more angels and possibly some plecos after this is all over with.

I couldn’t find anything that didn’t cloud the water, until I tried Extreme Aquatic Foods “cat scrapers”! The fish go crazy over them and my water is clear as a bell! Thanks for sharing!

Just the styrofoam board type. If I had to do it all over, I would insulate much better.

I have two chocolate bristlenose and have been struggling with breeding. One day I noticed nearly 30 babies all over the wall of my 20 gallon. Within 2 weeks, the babies dwindled one by one, til I was left with a single baby. It has continued to grow out in the same tank for the past 6 months. Since then, I've seen my male eject hatched eggs from the cave, but no babies.
I have cherry shrimp and endlers in there. Possible they are interfering with hatching? Could they have killed the babies?
I doubt it. Plecos are pretty good at protecting the eggs. What are you feeding the a babies?
@@MichaelsFishRoom on the first batch, I fed repashy super green, repashy morning wood, hikari algae wafers, and bug bites pleco formula. There haven't been any new visible babies since the first batch.
The fry my guppies had about a week ago have gotten so big!!!

Good info. I have one tank of red and albino longfin plecos and one tank of just albino longfins. The red male and albino female have bred several times and have had only brown longfins. The other tank has not bred at all. I have red females but they have not bred!
What is different?
Nothing that I am aware of. The red females are in with the red male, but he rathers the albinos. The other tank has both adult males and females. I will rearrange the tank and see what happens. Why do I only get brown longfins from the red male and the albino females?

Yup, but it depends on what is the tank if the eggs survive.

I have 4 in separate tanks, 3 are pretty young a few months old, then I have one a bit older and I think it’s a male because I see whiskers growing, I would like to breed them, I do have a 20 long I’m going to set up, just curious if they are to you g
They are slow breeders, unlike guppies. They usually start breeding around a year.

I don't know if you are aware but a US gallon and a EU gallon aren't the same and most people in the Europe don't have any idea what one is as it was made illegal to use any thing other than the metric system when selling things a long time ago

OMG! I forgot the wood! My lemon, blue eyed plecos bred. I had to move them out of the tank because the tank has killi fish in it. I totally forgot to add a piece of wood to their grow out tank. Going to get the wood now.

When a sick person goes and buys essentials from the same place as healthy person is where problems occur.
*If your sick stay home.*
*If your showing flu like symptoms, stay home.*
If you need essentials and your sick ask someone close to you who is wearing a mask and gloves so they don't spread your germs to go and get these essentials.
It is advised you shop online. If Amazon doesn't have "it" doesn't mean you local big name distribution center (Walmart, Canadian Tire, etc.) doesn't.
Wash your hands, cough into your sleeve, follow the stuff we were taught in kindergarten.

I wanted to sell. My mutt guppies to my local fish store and he told me 25 cents each he selles them for 2.50 or something like that I said can you trade he side no so the only way I can sell them is on offer up I sold like 7 or 10
Guppy boy woah $2.50 isn’t bad especially if they’re decent looking.
That's the issue. The LFS know's you have no other place to sell them. You have to figure he is buying pairs at about $1 a piece or so. Make a counter offer, $1 per pair in store credit. Or bring him your absolute best pair and tell him he you can sell these at $3 a pair easy so you want $1.50, then see if he will haggle.

Stacked up a bunch of the water spikes and most of my Pleco’s prefer the back of the caves made by the back of the back points not meeting.
