When Asami sings the line "Always I will be here" it is in her face and every gesture of her body language that she sincerely means her words. Magical. 🤘🎸🐺
It's not just this song that gives you feelings of change. Forget about the music for a minute - on the human side, it was destiny to have Lovebites 2.0. Asami, Midori, Miyako, and Haruna had been jolted by Miho's departure. Their future was uncertain. Fami was contemplating quitting. She was lost. Then came the bass auditions, and when Fami first walked through the door, that was it. I believe it was over before it began. It was never a competition once they met Fami. She won their hearts. I cannot think of a more joyful live recorded metal song to watch than this one. In September in Atlanta, from the first note Lovebites plays all the way to the end, my eyes will be watery.
When picking Fami, Asami gave a reason for her selection! It was her bubbly personality and she had the potential to invigorate the band with this personality!! However, I will see this camaraderie soon enough, twice in fact in 5 days!!
Two Japanese women remained in the final round of auditions for bassists. One had extensive experience in metal bands and very good playing technique, while the other had hardly ever been in a band and had never played metal. And it was vocalist Asami who strongly recommended FAMI, who lacked experience. The fact that Asami herself joined LOVEBITES with no knowledge of metal at all had a lot to do with it, but she said, "FAMI's presence brightens up the atmosphere of the band members. The main reason was that she was convinced that "she will surely give LOVEBITES a change".
I agree that Asami was very much in Fami's corner. However, I think the two that definitely had to be on board with the choice of Fami were Haruna and Miyako. The way they were positioned in the studio mirrored the situation. Asami and Midori were on Fami's side while Haruna and Miyako were on the opposite side of the studio. Facing those two during the audition, especially the all business Miyako, was probably a bit unnerving.
@@danw6048 Yeah - I can't imagine too many things more intimidating for a young musician auditioning than being watched by Miyako. But Miyako was very impressed with Fami's technical ability. I remember, she commented on the fact that Fami had a strong fourth finger, which shows just how closely Miyako was watching.
@@1970Phoenix There was a similar experience when Koga invited Angie to audition for Gacharic Spin. Angie was very intimidated by Hana but was able to when her over. My guess is that Koga, Reona and Tomo-zo were very encouraging while Hana gave her the "show me what you got" look.
Still can't believe I'm gonna see them in less than two months! We waited for so long for them, I thought I would never been able to watch one of my favorite bands!
they are a band who love their fans, you can see it on their faces, they appreciate their fans who pay their hard earn money just to watch them, that's why they are love by their fans very much, love lovebites, love Midori💚💚💚💚💚
〖MC comment from Asami〗🎤 Finally, finally, the five of us are all here. I finally met everyone. The day has finally arrived. Now is the time to be United. This is United. 〖Comments at the end of the song〗🎤 Thank you for a really, really great night.
Most of the time with a positive message. Miho's lyrics could be brutal. Even Asami can go dark in her lyrics. On the Judgement Day album, Asami's lyrics on Wicked Witch, Victim of Time and Dissonance are not exactly rainbows and unicorns.
Hi Guys; Glad to see the ladies back on the channel. I hope you're feeling better now Itai. I agree with what you said Itai; I also think that Fami changed the dynamics of the band. It seems that their energy is higher and they seem happier. It could be just because they came off of a long down time, but I really think a lot of it has to do with Fami. In the video bout them picking a replacement for Miho, Asami said that the room lit up when Fami walked in. She has also said that Fami is the first one at rehearsals and practices and is always the last one to leave. She's constantly asking Asami about how to become a better singer, and she's picking Miyako's brain about composing and arranging. She's very serious about becoming better at her craft, and that kind of energy is contagious. I was sad to see Miho leave, but I think Fami has made the band even better than they were before.
Thanks for more LOVEBITES! This song is so unique among all "metal" songs in my experience, both lyrically & the musical expression of unity including M&M playing in unison/harmony from beginning to end, not just the "twin-solo" (as Miyako calls the duets). I especially appreciate Itai's highlighting the lyrics "People who've never made real enemies have never stood up for what they believe" as I consider it, yes, a bit of departure from the other verses, but also an integral part of a wholistic life experience. It is as if Asami wants to 'educate' her listeners to profound truths along with the joys of unity. Interestingly, she does not sing that verse in this performance, but substitutes the earlier verse "Don’t give up on your life, fight for what’s right Live on and keep searching for answers" I have discussed this change in this vocal performance with a LoveBitten friend and consider that it could have been a deliberate choice, this being the "Resurrection" of LOVEBITES and wanting to keep it more positive & uplifting throughout, as a closing song of 2 days of rejoicing at being back onstage & in unity with their new "5th Element". Concerning your (very welcome) mentions of Miho, I think she expresses quite similar joy and interaction during performances of "We The United", as can be seen when it was end-of-main-set in 2019 ruclips.net/video/sl0-U-ykJCU/видео.html , running across the stage to join Asami at the piano, playful smiles & joy, & together with M&M out front following, and also the end of encore in 2020, joining with Asami up on the riser with Haruna & with M&M & Asami out front ruclips.net/video/g1p-9JMS-AI/видео.html I think something that is a bit "out of character" for all members in the "Resurrection" shows (Knockin' At Heaven's Gate I & II) where they are all smiles in so many songs, is that the unbridled JOY of being together & performing LIVE after 2-YEAR hiatus over-powered their usual manner of each member's demeanor matching the subject of the song being played. Almost ironically-inappropriate in the opening "The Hammer Of Wrath" (written by founder & former leader, bassist Miho) where the lyrics & matching music are an accounting of harsh realities (all too accurate real-world conditions) with everyone in smiles from ear-to-ear (!) Ironic when considering the subjects, the joy & smiles seems a contradiction. Nevertheless, you will find that even Fami 'toned-down' emotionally for certain songs, such as "Nameless Warrior" ruclips.net/video/pA3-KXPNhVM/видео.html This aspect of their performance is much more 'back to normal' in the Tokyo 2023 performance that was live-streamed with the continuity of demeanor matching subject of song. 🐺 dreg👁

Only 134 days until I get to witness the Lovebites US debut at ProgPower 2024 in Atlanta. I will be seeing 18 great bands at ProgPower, but Lovebites is the band I am most looking forward to seeing live. Since Lovebites is a headliner, they get a full 90 minute set. Lovebites has still not announced if they will do a US tour after ProgPower. Interestingly, Iron Maiden has yet to announce who will open for them in Japan. They will be doing 5 shows in Japan during the last week of September. The first half of September, Iron Maiden will be in Australia and New Zealand with Killswitch Engage as the opening band. Beginning October 4, Iron Maiden will start their US tour with The Hu as the opening band. Adding The Hu has made me even more excited to see them in November. If Iron Maiden were to invite Lovebites as their opening band in Japan, Lovebites might be able to squeeze in a few US shows before returning to Japan. If Lovebites opens for Iron Maiden in Japan, I hope that Miho can somehow be involved. She is a huge Steve Harris fan and I would love for her to meet her idol (assuming she hasn't already). Although Fami is a fantastic replacement for Miho on bass, I still miss the Miho "darkness". Her songs and lyrics were a great balance to Asami's lyrics. Both are great lyricists but they seem to have a polar opposite worldview. As for Fami, in discussing why the band chose Fami, Asami talked about how she lit up the studio as soon as she walked in. We the United was the final song of the second of two Lovebites return concerts. Since Fami had never been part of a band before, this was the last song of only the second concert of this type she had ever experienced.
I know you said you ignored the lyrics so you really should go back and take a close look at them because they add a whole other level to this song. The lyrics describe hope and unity and are just as important as this performance to what the essence of Lovebites is to their fans.
I love Miho, will always be grateful to her as a cofounder of LOVEBITES, and I was sad when she left the band, BUT I think Fami is a better fit for the band than Miho was. When I watch the old videos, Miho often seems (to me at least) like the odd one out to me.

LOVEBITES - We The United lyrics:
The silent dawn has been broken
Our fate has now been decided for good
Innocence can never be regained
Blissful ignorance turns into guilt and shame
We must first learn to give and understand
That no one is able to live alone
There is no need to be perfect
Everyone has their own problems and faults
Everything is indispensable,
Every person is worthy and valuable
Don’t give up on your life, fight for what’s right
Live on and keep searching for answers
We shall go forth
Prideful, we stand united
We can create miracles
Always, there is a way
SOLO: both
Humans are greedy and selfish
Wanting attention more than the respect
Recognize the pain that others hide
Have the strength to fight even for someone else
People who’ve never made real enemies
Have never stood up for what they believe
We shall go forth
Prideful, we stand united
We can create miracles
Always, there is a way
Always, I will be here
Always, we will be there
