    I agree on the High-Wing rear spoiler. It makes the the rear side profile more complete/aggressive.

    I bought a 2021 C8 HTC Z51 with only 1LT. It was more important to me to have the HTC and Z51 over a better interior package. I buy my Corvette’s for performance not bling so I always go with the higher performance packages. Plus the HTC is way more exotic looking and practical in my opinion.

    Our 2023 3LT HTC non-Z51 Arctic White with magnetic ride, front lift, performance exhaust, front splitter, black exhaust tips, two tone (black/red) interior and carbon flash painted top, nacelles, low spoiler, mirrors, intake blades, and wheels is the perfect car for us. We will never track it and it’s capable of more performance than we will ever need. Our 2nd Corvette and the best vehicle this 76yo has ever driven. The difference in the handling and ride in touring, sport, and track is extremely noticeable, although it performs very well when cornering even in touring mode.

    Videos like this helped me a lot. Went with the 2LT convertible. I don't think there are any must have options, it's subjective. But the 2LT gives so many more things I'll use, the 3LT doesn't give anything. For the convertible vs coupe, my hardest decision, I went with the convertible because I think the coupe looks slightly better with the roof on, but the convertible looks substantially better with the top down. Ultimately, you really don't have any bad choices in front of you. Except cacti green. ;)

    My decision came do to the 1lt with z51 or 2lt with options. I plan to daily and not track so I went with 2lt in artic white,gt2 seats with two tone option, 20 spoke wheels with stinray caps,performance exhaust with black tips,stealth interior trim,carbon fiber trim,stealth crossed flag,high wing spoiler with ground effects front and side and of course the radiator grille screens.

    DAAAMN bruh.. I've never been a massive fan of american cars but this one's FIRE.. OMG. And that massive spoiler looks just stunning on it. I'd probably potentionally swap it for some aftermarket one. Such a shame you didn't show the spoiler on that white corvette which had two pylons instead of 4 like the red one.

    Mag ride is not about making the ride smooth. If that is what you want don't get it. It is about changing the handling of the car. It is also NEEDED if you get the Z51 package. Mag ride enables five more track mode options, has impact on stability and launch control results. Z51 without mag ride is like a gun without ammunition.

      Agreed. If you going to track your car z51 you should get the mag. But as a daily driver, you don’t need those 2. I actually found the ride without the mag package much smoother.

    I had the 2022 HTC and to me it was worth it...I just ordered my 23 and got the HTC again...I had the z51 package but chose not to get it this time...I did get the stealth package and the mag ride with 2 tone leather seats...I wish I had switched the mag ride for the performance exhaust but my thought process was I could add that later on and with the mag I doubt they would be able to do it afterwards

      I do not have mag ride and mine is not equipped with Z51. I can still use the knob to change between driving modes and that also impacts my exhaust because I have the performance exhaust option. Thanks

      @@NLM What? Ok so I’m really confused. So I’m trying to order the right C8 and no mag or no Z51 and I’m assuming you got the performance exhaust? Mode will open and close exhaust? Won’t give a stiffer or softer ride tho?

    • @NLM
      @NLM  2 года назад +3

      I personally opted not to get Z51 or mag ride. Those are more options that go hand in hand with track use. Many people still choose these options for daily driving. Yes, I got performance exhaust. This does not change ride quality, only changes exhaust note with the valves.

    I just put in my options and the dealer talked me into the sports exhaust , you like it also huh? I don't like that really loud gaudy exhaust that some race cars have so I'm wondering if it would be a waste for me. Why do you like that option so much?
    Also I'm goin to look around for custom chrome rims , any suggestions?

    • @NLM
      @NLM  2 года назад

      I do not have suggestions on rims but I will say the exhaust is great because of the ability to change between the volume in different modes. Even in its loudest mode, it still is not super loud but it sounds great and let’s you hear it. Even with the NPP exhaust option you can still lower it all the way down in “MyMode” if you prefer it that way.

    • @lilbull6245
      @lilbull6245 2 года назад

      @@NLM So there is 2 options with the sound ? High and low? Or is there 3 modes? High, medium, and low ? I would think the stock exhaust would still sound good though, no?

    • @NLM
      @NLM  2 года назад

      3 modes/levels. The regular exhaust is fine but some prefer a little more volume and the NPP gives +5 horsepower. Totally up to you but it’s not a cosmetic type of mod that you can do down the line. It is something you do from the start or not at all unlike the high wing spoiler for example.

    Nice review! So, I happened to surprise my wife with a 2022 C8 LT2 with the Z51 package. We both had corvettes when we first met in our twenties. So, it was a sentimental purchase.
    I've been a car enthusiast since I was a teen. Had muscle cars, then bought my first vette 1962 at 21. It was semi customized, and it was and still is beautiful. It was a great feel to own, just not a great drive. but a head turner!
    So, she took delivery of the C8 in March of 2022. She now has 11k miles on it (two long road trips attributed to half that mileage). She has no hesitation pushing the envelope with it. We do track it locally and even get it on a drag strip with some of the muscle cars. I am not a typical collector as we own them to use and really enjoy them.
    We've had several other corvettes, and the C8 is impressive as its unlike any of the previous generations. The mid engine dual 8 speed clutch and much more chevy implemented changed the game for the corvette.
    Now it's a far cry from the two Ferrari's. A 2020 F8 Tributo & 2019 Ferrari 488 GTB! You're also talking about a hugh sticker price difference.
    We have 7 adult children and our 5th grandchild due soon, but there is still room for another car. I always wanted a Z06, so I have one on order, but a 2023 delivery is questionable. The vettes are just in my blood, but lean towards the Italian super cars.

    I enjoyed this video that you have presented based a great deal on your ownership of a C8. However, was a little disturbed by your misspoken comment that repeats what many “non previous owners” say about the “Sueded Microfiber” steering wheel. These negative comments come up on nearly every Corvette based forum, virtually always by folks that have not ever owned or driven a car with the option. In every case, folks who have the Sueded option rebut that statement that seems to fall on deaf ears. Sueded micro fiber is not suede leather, does not behave or perform the same. Where folks that have little or no personal hygiene and fail to drive with clean hands can indeed soil or mat the microfiber. However, given the same practice, a finished “leather” wheel will become “shinny or modeled” in its appearance as well. The sueded micro fiber is as easily cleaned as the leather wheel but, it is warmer to the touch, in the winter cold, cooler in the hot summer sun and less slippery for aggressive driving, without the need for gloves. Objectively, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Finally, it is not an accident that very high end Sport Cars from Europe come with sueded steering wheels. JMHO, as a 8 model year owner of a C7 with the option and, having only “cleaned” the steering wheel twice in that time period. Don’t get me wrong, everyone is entitled to their opinion but, information they “responsibly” disseminate should be based on experience not conjecture.

    • @NLM
      @NLM  2 года назад +1

      I appreciate the kind words. My mistake, shouldn’t have assumed sueded microfiber is the same as a regular suede. I love the way it looks especially with the yellow stitching. Thanks for the information.

I asked if bucking up to the Z06 was any better was told 2030 for that one, lol. What a clown town company. GM will go bankrupt AGAIN mark my words they can’t even produce product.
