Note: there are many possible causes for poor posture. For example, you may have some muscular imbalances that require more specific work to undo. Wall slides helped me, but may or may not help you. If possible, you're welcome to consult with a doctor or physical therapist to work with you on your posture. However, learning to do this exercise with good form can work as a good mobility benchmark for healthy humans, so it may still be worth your time to learn!
I have not a single wall in my house where I can do this like you here, which is why I do it lying on the ground and lifting my legs up in a 90° angle so that my back and shoulders are flat on the ground. Is that okay or do I have to be standing up for the exercise to work?
Haha I actually left it out of one yesterday. I don't want them to feel annoying. On the other hand, every video has someone hearing it for the first time so... Shrug. I'll experiment.
What he has said is absolutely true. I've done those exercises for a couple of weeks and tried to keep conscious of my posture and it really helped fixing my posture and also my back and shoulders pains relieved a lot You guys should try it if you suffer from bad posture pain
The way he's talking, showing, and explaining everything he makes me feel better already 🤪🤣 The most positive person I've seen ❤ U could listen to him all day long 🤪🤣🥰
This guy is awesome,I did some of the exercises from his beginner home workout and just in a short time i feel stronger and every one is telling me that I look much better and healthier. Also before starting the workout I barely could do half of a push up, now I can do 10! Thanks and have a good day ;)
The back is often overlooked its importance plays a great role in preventing injuries and attaining naturally good posture. Good luck on you fitness journey 🙂.
Hey @hybrid calisthenics thank you so much for all your free content ... I was never able to do pull ups for the life of me and then I watched your video where you do so many reps with easy modified pull-ups and eventually do one pull up and sure enough it worked thank you !!
Subscribed to this like a year or a year and a half ago. Just decided to check how your were doing with followers. WOW MAN!!!! I knew you would blow up! Good for you! You’re a great dude! You deserve to be heard with all this amazing knowledge thanks for helping everybody out! Stay clean!
Thank you so much, Hampton! I was just watching your other video with this stretch. It's nice to see you do it again. I hope if I improve my posture, it can help me with the pain I often feel in my upper back and shoulders
I’ve got poor posture due to sitting down and looking on my phone all the time. This is going to help fix my posture. Great video Hampton! Short and straight to the point
I've refused to do PE at school for around 5 years now, but today I joined in doing core strength and balance exercises and it was really fun and rewarding. I've been really ashamed about my body for a really long time, being a short and fat trans guy, but I'm trying to be healthier and be more physically active and honestly, it helps confidence a lot as well as fitness, which is something I really needed. I love watching your videos and feeling better about myself. Thank you!
The '15 Repetitions Morning & Night' protocol seems like a small detail. With strength exercises, people know about lower reps for strength and higher reps for size, but often with mobility drills such as these, you find yourself asking, "Am I not doing enough? Am I doing too much?" So that small detail is really helpful!
Shoulder inflexibility is easily the most common hidden cause of back pain. Your back, generally speaking, overcompensates for inflexible shoulders. Great video.
Thank you. You're a great teacher. I find it hard to resonate with people, making it hard to retain things. For some reason, I resonate with you easily! I will try this, and I'll update after a week!
Thank you friend! I'm dealing with thoracic problems and been trying to fix my rolled shoulders. I have a very pronounced lower back arch, so thank you for mentioning the legs stepping out from the wall. That should help my process a LOT! 💜
Hey man idk if you’ll actually see this, but keep going and do what you do! You are extremely helpful and insightful, have helped me get back in shape after years of depression! Thank you for helping out!
Thank dude I've been waiting for a video like this for months! Although I actually saw another body posture video you did a couple of months ago, I got reminded and I actually attempted it. This is the first time I did it. Hopefully my posture gets better day by day. Thank you Hampton!
stretching the front of your body and strengthening the back so you can straighten up with less effort is something people usually forget to point out! but it's so important, and can even tie into emotional and nervous system work (protective postures). gently pressing fingers together or pulling them in front of your chest can give a hint about what side feels weaker (front/back) or what protective strategies your nervous system defaults to (fight/fold)
Thank you thank you!!!....I was just asking the universe for help with this. Something gentle to strengthen my upper back as I have physical limitations. This is exactly what I needed to see. Love your videos Thank you again! Sending L🕯GHT and L💗VE
I wish there was a keep recommending me button on YT so that videos like this would keep showing up in my feed when I refresh. Like 'Keep recommending me this video daily or weekly or even hourly and the video would just pop up as a reminder that I have to do this.
I did this once, stepped away from the wall and I held great posture with almost no effort. Thank you. I feel like this showed me exactly what muscles I have to engage to stand up straight. Before I was just pulling everything back and holding it tight, and I’d end up getting exhausted
Holy shit the struggle with the lower back is real been doing this for 2 hour still hard asf to maintain my lower back on the wall, either way i trust this guy most of my stuff comes from him he is genuine with these typa videos
Fun fact: Having a Chest-to-back imbalance can also cause hunching. If your chest is more developed than your back muscles, then it can draw in the shoulders and gives you the “hunchback” posture
I just did it for a minute and I can feel my back has straightened up for the time .. I know I need to keep this practice as a habit to see long results. Do it !!!
@@metheguywhoasked I don't remember if it was 3 days in a row. I just did as many as I could in one go, I think the first time I did this it was 10. Then at some other day I did it again, as many as I could. And I did it again on another day. After doing it for the 3rd time I noticed that I kept my back straight when walking without thinking about it. Before I had to think about keeping my back straight.
Hey Hampton, I know you will not read this but this exercise helped me! Following this exercise for more than a week and I see changes in just a short period of time and I didn't expect, thank you very much Hampton! Have a beautiful day!

Is this harder to do with scoliosis?
