Like at least one other person mentioned, I’m currently using the Jackery 1000 and will eventually upgrade to the Bluetti 2000 lithium battery 🔋 power generator. Both offer the option of charging from solar briefcase panels in a pinch. Both have built-in options for charging with the cigarette lighter plug or an AC plug 🔌 and can output via cigarette style plug, USB and 110/120 household sockets. They’re self-contained and don’t take up much space. Literally the whole unit isn’t much bigger than one of those lead acid batteries. Eliminates the need to figure out wiring schemes, fuse boxes, etc. “Eezy Peezy” as you’re known to say, Brother! The days of lead acid batteries, power inverters and all the extra wiring and installation are short numbered, IMHO. God Bless!
@@nevadaruss5352 are you asking if a Jackery will power a rooftop ac? I'm looking at them right now and There is enough for phones, laptops, TV, etc but will definitely not power rooftop.
Thanks for the informative video!! Just added a couple batteries to my van yesterday, just need to replace the cover and bracket on the van battery and I'm ready to go!!! Well after the new year anyways...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
@@EverythingApax ...no problems but I haven't hooked up my inverter...then again everything I have so far is 12 volt. My next investment will be a diesel heater!!
My Hum from Verizon tells me on my phone when my battery gets low. Great investment that Hum. Especially when the engine throws a code. I also use a Jackery for my fan and other things. 😁😁😁🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🚚 Be safe. Out here running around Ohio. Put some shrink wrap on the end of those wires.
Funny you mentioned the wires because when I filmed that I'm like "Wtf!? That shouldn't be exposed. Someone is gonna give me chit now!" Lol. I'm taking care of it.
Great job my brother the only thing I would have done different is gotten a pure sine wave inverter that DeWalt is a modified sine wave inverter and it is very rough on sensitive Electronics like cell phones laptops excetera
Thanks for the info man. I still need to do this but I am trying to wait until I get an extended van and have more room. When I started I just decided to get a jackery to charge phone, run a fan and what not and is what I'm still using.
I have 2 flooded acid batteries wired in parallel right now, no charger set up on them yet. I like the adventure king and redarc dc dc chargers. Going to ad 1 of them soon, it will give me the option to add solar if I want.
Do you not have a "smart alternator" on your van? I was told I would need a DC to DC charger to charge the aux battery. That the variable charging alternators will not supply enough volts to the aux battery once the primary battery is at full charge. Is that not true?
@EverythingApax ok i have a 2018 t250 highroof i wanted to do the 2000 watt pure sine wave inverter with 2 100ah batteries like in your video the heater is 750 watts 12 hrs is more than enough for me thanks for your reply and I am new to your channel n I like the content
Good morning friend, I have a Ram Promaster Cargo Van, could you help me? I need the internal side panels, could you tell me where I can find them to buy them?
@rubenmarin9425 call the Dodge dealer and ask for the parts department. Tell them what you are looking for. Ask them for the part number. Then, do a Google search for the part number.
Hey man great video!! Just a little confused on why you didn't add a battery isolator or a charging cable. You just ran the power from the first battery. I'm assuming that your starter battery is equal to your auxiliary?? If not how do they charge?
There is a simple on/off switch between the start battery and the auxiliary batteries. I'd prefer an isolator, but at the time I didn't know of one that would work.
Allan, so if you install a roof-top A/C unit, is there any way to power it other than running the engine or using a generator? A generator added to either the front or rear of the van looks like your taking the mother-in-law with you; it's totally out of place. Also, the noise from running the generator. Any other solutions? Don't say fans; I can't sleep in a 90 degree box with roof exhaust fans.
No other options that I'm aware of. The sound of the generator is drowned out by the ac running. Get the ac set up with a soft start or hard start I can't remember which it's called, but get it installed and it will allow for a smaller generator which gives you more options to store or mount it.
So please, can someone tell me who to call to have someone do this for me. I have been trying to find a mechanic for years to do this, I am not going to do this myself

I've been meaning to look into those. Would be a huge help and make for lighter load.
yeah but would it power a roof ac

Very effective setups.

Absolutely. I agree that if you want to power those types of equipment it is wise to do pure sine wave.
Can you please show us step by step on how to build it.
Does an isolator basically do the same thing as the on off switch? Thx very helpful.

Today I've been looking into the Jackery more for future vans. I'm curious how long it will run a fridge and diesel heater for.

What's the most kilowatt hours worth of battery youve put into a van?
Thank you for showing this information😊 - Questions: Can that same configuration be used when installing an a/c unit on the roof?
For an ac unit you'll need to power it with a 2200 watt or higher generator or shore power.
