I just got my M850xi. I have owned Porsche 911S, Panamera, Porsche 911. I am 6,3" and in my opinion, best car so far. Yes, the steering is not as sporty (feel)as my last 535i or 640i but still when driven in "SPORT" mode it feels great, sounds great, looks great. If you can afford it, try it, you'll like it!

Beautiful... Extremely capable car... Way better than any of the cars he mentioned and great value for money. BMW is on a role these days.

I watched the Grand Tour Episode on these GT cars and the 8 series which May drove came out as winner in all the tests!
It did indeed, the AM DB11 was garbage compared, remember how they had to wait for the road to dry before they could do a drag race?
The interior is based on the original 8 series.

Grrrreat looking car, fantastic performance for the M850i and excellent fuel economy for the 840d. The X drive can haul you round corner like on rails and the laser lights !!

Why do you still say the Merc is better, they all have stretched ipad screens and so only for the fruit phone fans! the usability of the idrive is sooooo much better than merc and audio!
An S65 Coupe is 190k, more expensive than the DB11 and Conti GT??
Why is the sun blasting into the camera?
The bright background sunlight seems to have darkened the exposure for the exterior of the car resulting in it not being appreciated.....

I would disagree with the DB11 this is much more produced and slightly slower . Only the v12 would . V8 or i6 wouldn’t

435d is a pretty good 840d alternative?
Yes. It is. Costs less..
Or 640d is better...I didn’t buy a 435d due to non exclusivity and interior is rubbish
The Bentley Continental GT is the king of this class but I'll take an S63 AMG over the 8 series.
Max Troy The S63 gets less attention people will think it’s just another Mercedes . Bentley is also sportier and would be heavy

What is the point of this car? It just looks like a slighter jazzier, bigger 6 series.
It's hideously overpriced, ugly, cramped, dated, charmless and will drop like a stone depreciation wise.
I'd much rather have a original 8 series tbh.
BMW have really jumped the shark in the last few years design wise. Bring back Chris Bangle.
