Great video as usual, I just completed a 6478 mile trip from San Diego to Erwin Tenn, then down to Key West for 3 days and then up the panhandle around back to San Diego, This was on my Model Y long range. I carried my 11 Lbs Lithium battery as a spare just in case. No issues charging around the nation. Will do it once again. Fred
Question - you just have the mppt controller hooked directly to your 12v? Any error issues with it? Or does that come from the fridge drain not the solar?
Nice video. Say, how did you installed the tent on the bended roof rack? I´m using a straight roof rack for my model 3, but it isn´t ava. for the upcoming Y.
Your cooler may run less if you give it more breathing space around the compressor exhaust, my Alpicool 55 ran a lot less after I gave it more space while power use in ECO mode went from 45 to 37 watts on 110 when running, it all adds up. Will be good to see how the tent material holds up with the wind after a while. At first glance your desert shots made me think I was in the Badlands, both beautiful country…..gotta go, Chipmunks going on the warpath!
Touch windy. Interesting but I'd like to see Tesla make a product that's a rear and side foretent fit to Tesla models and then sleep in the car. Less of the south pole we are going to die vibe :) And Tesla should defo have branded high tech stove tops too and mains outlet for it and foretent roof could be all solar. Use the car as storage. Fridge too. Some high tech aerogel stuff. And starlink.
I wonder if it's a different rating for static and dynamic? Ie: roof rack weight limit is when driving and going over big bumps. But when stationary it can support a lot more?
Too expensive to operate and keep when you need a car to daily drive too... Makes more sense to have something that works for all of it and is efficient and cost effective long term.

Thank you for explaining the roof…and that it could handle the bouncing. Lol lol
Congrats to Karen on her Masters degree! That is awesome!
Congratulations Karen!
“Especially when bouncing a round in here”. Get a hotel Brian :-)
Thank you for helping find the limits of the glass roof and 12V system! also Whistle tips!!! Bahhhhahhhh
Wow. That’s a nice set up. So windy. Can’t wait to the next one. I would be so nervous that I would scrape the battery
Yeah, Cybertruck will make this so much better.
I'm glad to see Brian is warming up to the Cybertruck a little. At least we got the little heart emoji.
@@EVMANVSGAS Yeah, his first reaction was 'It looks like a dumpster' ;)
Why would the cyber truck make this better?
Thanks for explaining the solar!

I got the 12V battery warning when I had just a Blackvue Dashcam connected.
hopeful Tesla add a full electronic differential lock... in combination with higher lift kit It could be my next car and pretty useful on the beach.
Totally agree!
There's an aftermarket limited slip differential for the 3 and y. It costs $2500 for the part.
Would you be able making a video how to install the solar panel and how it helps? thanks

Congrats miss 3.9, Magnificent achievement!
Nice setup, but why so close to the highway?
All the RV parks full
@@i1Tesla Darn! Hopefully you can make a video with a beautiful and secluded campsite.
Hi man! nice video, how much this tent effects on consumption of the car? Thanks in advance!
Thank you for a great video! Any reccomendations for Tesla Model 3? Can we use the same tent?
Which models is the roof top setup + tent
Where are the mountain decals from ?
That wrap is very nice! What tires are you using?
Id get a separate deep cycle battery for the fridge and leave you car battery out of the loop.
wow - really cool setup!
tesla model Y car camping 👏👏👏👏👏
While I can't afford one it is nice to see one that is pushed beyond the design specs.

Is that a solar panel on your hood?
🤗 AGAIN THANKS FOR SHARING AND AGAIN CONGRATS TO KAREN…..ENJOYING YOUR JOURNEY AND HOPE YOU ARE AS WELL 👍🤗😍😍😍
Thank you! 🤗
Any problems accessing charging stations in these relatively remote national parks?
Not at all
What is the name of the roof tent?
With that wind, I'd put all of the gear in the tent and sleep inside the car!
Because the tent is more comfortable
WT?????? Just to many things for me, and this why we have choices 😊😊😊😊
Remember I was a 25 day trip. You need to bring a few things with you for that long
Se te ha ido de las manos! 😀
Congrats to Karen!
hey nice video, do you think this system works on tesla model 3 ? i mean is the roof strong enough to support the tent ?
Isn't the weight just going through the crossbars? (Sorry I have short memory)
Hi, please send me the color type, because i like this color very much. Rainer
The Tesla roof rack weight limit is lower than my own weight (90+ kg).
How can it hold 2 adults?
I want this tent and I don't want the rack to break

🎉
Kettle that doesn't whistle = a pot.
Why? Need a new car ?
Dude get an RV

Just not very good video.
What a nightmare not fun camping. Time for an ev or hotel
Sorry, but seems like a super expensive rig to experience the nastiest camping experience ever. Hard to watch.
