- Welcome to Flip It Furniture! Today we are giving this curbside find a furniture makeover. The top is a little damaged, but the bones are good. I Give this piece a nautical design using Sandy Dixie Belle chalk paint colors and a nautical transfer. I added nautical hardware to tie it all together. This is a trash to treasure Makeover. I include all of the start to finish steps to show you how to use a dry brushing technique using chalk paint.

This is really a nice piece! I agree it gives a beachy vibe, and i especially like the knobs! They tie it all together along with the transfers. Job well done, Amy!!!
I love how this turned out
Nautical is one of my favorite themes. Maybe because it goes with my last name. Lol I really love the knobs, so cute.
Not a nautical fan but I would have this in my home with no problem. The paint makes it look like a piece of driftwood.
Looks like you created a white driftwood effect👍
I love the look of driftwood and the nautical theme. It would be very nice I'm n a little boy's room
Gosh, you make it look so easy.
❤️
Thanks so much for explaining the order in which you used to colors. Finishing off with the light colored really did tie the whole piece together and I’m just about to start tired. Using three different colors so it was helpful to understand why you layer them in the way you did thanks so much
What a beautiful technique
Thanks Holly😊❤️
Absolutely stunning …😍
Absolutely beautiful!!!
Love your videos lol can’t wait for the next one!!
That you!❤️
So cute, love how you did the dry brushing, outstanding !
Turned out beautiful, I love nautical. Love the knobs, they added a nice touch
Turned out great love the dry brush technique and learned some things.. would love to see more of the technique with other color combos. So good!!
Great job! Thanks for sharing your technique. I would have thought that chocolate was too dark but I get it now! Love the shadowing
I love this piece and the transfers was the icing on the cake. Very nice!
Turned out wonderful
Love this piece and the colors. Makes me think of an old piece of wood. This piece would go with just about any decor. Thanks for a great video !!

Thanks Sarah😊
Beautiful.
Adorable! I love the hardware!
Love this! Wish I had time to do this on my dresser!
I absolutely love how this turned out. 💯 Great technique and thanks for sharing ❣
This video is perfect timing for me!!! I love this color combo!! I have a dresser I have been wanting to do and this will be perfect. I also make front porch signs using the IOD Barnwood stamp. I’m going to do one using the burlap and sawmill gravy dry brush followed by the stamp in the chocolate!!!
Wow! I love it!
OMG, this piece is beyond amazing! 👏👏👏
This piece turned out beautiful! I love the colors,
it looks like real wood!
Stunning.
Beautiful
Beachy was exactly how I thought this color looks. Very cool.
I love the beach wood effect & so glad it’s not gray. Looks like weathered wood. Great job.
Love it!
Live thus! I need to do this too. Lol I will never get all my want to tries and doc's done!
This turned out so cute. Another awesome job!
Meant 2 say: great job! I really enjoy ur presentation manner & that u remember 2 b specific with stating & showing brushes, paints, etc. & 'why' these choices; so helpful. Thank u! 💥💫
Thank you! I appreciate your comment. It will remind me to keep doing that in the future😊
Those pulls were so perfect!

This is just incredible! I have these transfers and have been wondering what to do with them. This is actually what I want to try now. Just amazing!
It’s so enjoyable watching you doing your magic. Lovely
Girl, I like the way this turned out too. I think it’s really cute. Besides the transfer, the hardware set this piece in motion. Did you already know what this piece was going to look like?Fantastic!!🥰

I love how it turned out for the person who wants that theme great if you want a different theme use different rub ons I would use this piece in a heart beat just change the theme to my area of liking
That piece turned out so awesome. Love the transfer as well. Great job.
Thank you!
Very cool! Nice job!
This is really nice!!
Very well done.
That turned out really well! I must admit that while I watched the process I had some doubts about how well it would turn out but I'm very happy to say that I was too quick to judge the piece.
You're a talented lady! Another inspiring technique...great job!
Very nice!

Hi Amy wow this piece is amazing I love the colours you've used the finish and texture are gorgeous and I love the transfers the are perfect ,the whole piece definitely has s sandy beachy warm feel, I agree blues and greys would have liked nice too but the co,ours you used I think are better ,o e if my favourite flips I've seen for sure, take care all the best Mary in Australia🌻
Adorable. It would go good in my home
😊❤️
Love your videos
Thank you! 😊
This is art🥰
Wow, so clever!
I'm going to give the technique a go - it looks just like wood. Thanks for the video 😊
beautiful! I'll try this on some old wood oars I've been saving. I wonder if you might have had easier time if drawers were out to paint
I have to say from beginning to end I questioned everything you were doing including the decals but the knobs made the decals work and honestly you are so talented because I don’t know how you made all that paint look that good 😁😯 I would never attempt because I do not think I have enough skill. Great job!
Thank you so much! I know what you mean. There is an ugly stage for sure. I’ve done this technique before so I knew I had to trust the process and keep going😂
Looks like drift wood savaged from a ship wreck!
What a little treasure of a chest 😉 Glad you went with the beige because it gives a scrimshaw look --- goes with the theme 😀
One of the cutest flips I have seen!
Are you keeping it?
I LOVE LOVE this. watching you flip furniture is like watching a Artist with her masterpiece You are Gifted. I Love being subscribed to your channel.
Thank you so so much❤️
Wooooww
Great job ! i really enjoy watching you create . New subscriber😊
Thanks so much! 😊
I really love this paint finish looks so good. I would love to try it myself but a little scared.
Go for it!! You’ll be so happy that you did.
It's cute lil peice
Yes, it's turned out great / the beiges..Defintely like this better as the blues-whites-grays would have left the home owner limited as 2 options 4 decorating, & love the drawer pulls..not cutesy at all!🙂
I absolutely love your videos! You are so talented and your dad is a smart fella to grab that piece! I can’t wait to watch another.. Are the transfers hard to apply
Thank you! I would start with transfers on a flat surface first that way you get used to the feel of them. They are pretty easy to apply. They get tricky when You apply them on a none flat surface.
This is beautiful! Can you try to speak up some in your future videos!? It gets hard to hear you sometimes bc I have to watch on my phone! Great job!!
Thank you! Yes, I will speak up. I have a new microphone to fix my audio😊
@@FlipItFurniture It may just be me lol but I appreciate it!!
Can you do thiscame technique with fusion mineral paint? Also what colors did you use? What is base coat on furniture? I heard you mention a brown? Plain old brown & can you confirm that it was saw mill gravy?
Real nice 😄
Q: when using Dixie mud to fill in the holes, I noticed that the front of the drawers are filled in but never the back (inside of the drawers )!?!?
Won’t that look weird when people open the drawer and see 2 holes there???
Thx….
Hi, I never made over a furniture, but you inspired me to make over my dinning table, it's a very dark oak colored, turns into grey 🤮 when I put warm things on the top of it I don't know why 😲, I want to turn it into light grey-ish warm see through pattern. Any suggestions? Thank you for your videos x
It’s a very cute little chest Amy. You made trash beautiful…again!
Thank you! 😊
Have you done this with a black tone third color instead of brown?
❤
😍
I thought the transfer would go before the top coat 🤔 it looks amazing though
Thank you! Usually the transfer goes on before the topcoat but if you are applying the transfer over raw wood or a Textured surface it is best to apply a coat of sealer first.
Where do you get your transfers?
Sorry to say this is not my favorite. Everyone has different tastes which makes life interesting. Thank you for the video. 😁
Do you let the paint dry before you do the next color?
Yes, Otherwise the paint will mud together. I thought I saw that in the video. I’m sorry
Subtitulos en Español por favor
Why Dixie Belle mud? Why not just wood filler? Bet it's cheaper.
Why would you put an anchor and lighthouse stencil on furniture like it’s a costume???! I just think you should convey “I live in a lake house” in a more sophisticated way.
It’s in my nephews room. He loves it.
That’s the beautiful thing about people. We all have different tastes. Wouldn’t life be so boring if we all painted the same pieces?
Love it!!!
Love it!!!
