For those on a budget. You can use mod podge instead of slick stick and acrylic craft paint will work great for painting. A clear top coat spray paint for finishing will give you a glossy beautiful finish. You can also iron on the design with decoupage paper. Use a sheet of parchment between the paper and iron.
I'm looking for a side hustle......and today I'm going to completely eliminate all the crap in my tiny apartment to make room for supplies. I just bought a car..so I need extra $..wish me luck! These videos inspire me..thank you!
Beautiful, so nice to see a work of art, instead of painting everything black!
Now that I love. A simple piece with a touch of elegance. Beautiful
Love the wildflowers on the door
Great job a couple of suggestions 😀 Wet your brush a touch before you put it in the paint and it helps eliminate the brush stroke from happening. Trick 2 I use a straight edge razor blade to take off the raised bubbles on laminate!! Again Great Job!!
Thank you! Great tips😁
Also if you tear a lot of that top space it will smooth better
Kimberly, what would you do if the damage was on the top corners? I cut it off with the razor blade but it became puffy again when I painted it. Could I seal it with something? It seems what ever I tried didn’t work. TIA
Beautiful! I love watching your makeovers the most! You are hands down my favorite artist ❤
So pretty... I wish they would make this paper facing in opposite directions for projects like this where it would be nice if they mirrored... My OCD triggers lol but it is just beyond gorgeous. 💜
Love this piece. The flowers on a white background make them really stand out. A great makeover. Thanks !!
SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL
Beautiful! I especially like the decoupaged flowers! 👍😁💖
Thank you!
I love how the doors are done in a decorative framed style as you can put any image or two tone color or anything you want really. And my gosh sweety, you must have a never ending stream of dressers passed along your way hahaha. The biggest piece of furniture I ever done (once) was a grand piano I had to do for my sister. This was long ago. The previous owner painted it with house paint and a roller. Like omg house paint on a grand piano. I died..lol. So I had to strip all the paint off and start from scratch. It was a huge job to do and I painted it black with a two part basecoat/clear coat automotive paint. Then I played it for hours.
I love the decorative materials you use. Especially the choice in stencils and paper prints you use like this Decoupage paper. You have a lot of patience sweety I give you that. It's also fun when you can artistically paint flowers by hand using acrylics. I had to practice a lot before I had the hang of doing an array of flowers and leaves. You are very good at what you do and you make these pieces of furniture really stand out. Excellent work!
Thank you!!
I can’t even imagine stripping paint off a grand piano😳😅 I have seen Furniture pieces done in automotive paint. They turn out so beautiful! Someday I would like to try painting flowers by hand. I’ll have to watch some Bob Ross reruns first!
Love the rose stencil
I do agree.... this is a very in sweet looking piece. I haven't used any transfers or decoupage papers on furniture yet, only on small shelves or boxes. The DB florals, look like you hand painted them!! You really pamper your pieces Amy, and they always are standouts. I'm a big fan🌷
Oh thank you so much Cath☺️that means a lot! The transfers are my favorite 💕
This little hutch/cabinet turned out adorable! Lots of good tips and tricks in this video. I'm getting ready to do my entire 5 piece bedroom suite. It's that awful old honey gold color. It was OK 18 years ago as a fashion statement, but now it just looks old, tired and yucky! So I've been watching videos to get ideas. My bedroom theme has been Gone With The Wind forever. It's my favorite book and I have tons of wall art. So, I'm going for a sage green look and adding a barn motifs on the headboard and sunflowers on the other pieces. My husband is installing new hardwood this week and I'm doing an accent wall of old barn wood. This has been a year in planning and I'm so excited!!!
you have amazing paint brush control.
I swear, every video gets more and more amazing. I wish I had even an ounce of your talent. I am just starting on my journey of flipping furniture and I am just loving what you’re doing. This is such a pretty piece. I just love it.
Thank you so much!! That’s so nice of you to say. I’m sure your full of talent. It’s never easy at the beginning But with a few pieces under your belt I’m sure you’re going to be great😊
@@FlipItFurniture Thank you so much!
Very interesting makeover. The front is awesome. The side flowers ... are too much. Thumb up for me.
Thank you! 👍😊
I agree I love the front, I even like the sides but not crazy about them being on the same furniture piece. But I do love the stencils.
I like the front. And love the knob!
Yeah, I think the mixture of the roses and the wildflowers just didn't work. Also, it might have looked a little better if the roses had been a brighter violet to match the flowers in the transfer paper.
@@VioletJoy Theres so much negativity in the world!! Why cant people keep their personal opinions to themselves?? Have you done any tutorials lately??
Another time you might try trimming the excess rice paper at the top, mirroring tge shape of the flowers. . That way the edge of the paper will blend in more easily.
I started doing it that way with one of the papers but I found it looked better to use the whole sheet on this piece. I just went with it!
Super! Thanks!
That decoupage paper is so cute
Right! 💕
What a pretty piece! I could store my paints in that! Thedecoupage added so much character and interest! I love using rice paper! It is so easy and finishes beautifully! Great job!!
So super cute!! It's like seeing spring all the time ... love it!
Love, love, love!
Just beautiful
Absolutely darling. Love it.
Stunning piece..beautiful
Stunning
This turned out absolutely beautiful! It is my absolute favorite piece of yours. I am loving that flower 🌺 rice paper! It is so precious. Well done!!
I have a whole bedroom set like this. Thought I couldn't paint it. Who knew?? Also I loved it but would have liked 2 knobs instead of one. I guess I like balance???
I agree with the two knobs. I probably should have added another.
@@FlipItFurniture but it still looked awesome.
Thank you 😊
Great transformation, thanks for the bubble tip !
Thank you for watching!
So pretty!
WOW! That turned out beautiful! I love the stencils especially. But the entire piece is fantastic! I guess you could say, I love it!,
Thank you so much💕
Beautiful piece Amy! You are amazing!
Thanks Kim🥰
Beautiful, great job.
Love it how it turn out beautiful 🤩 the flowers so cute 🥰
Thank you!
Beautiful as always
I love the look from the front - the wild flowers are so pretty. And I love the look from the side - so elegant. But, the two types of flowers don’t go together well. The wild flowers are light and free, the roses are so formal and dark. I would have stuck with all wild flowers or all roses.
Really pretty.
Beautiful. I would have trimmed the decopauge design around the flowers to avoid having all that blank paper and filling and painting.
The closer you trim the decoupage paper the more satisfactory the result will be.
I actually did that when I first started. It comes with three papers but I didn’t like the way it looked With this particular design so I used the whole sheet instead
I would have done the same thing.. Still looks good...
Good for you Jane!! Nobody cares what you would have done!! Its a tutorial!! No one asked for the opinions!
@@cathyleslie568 wow passive aggressive much. I was offering support to make things easier as I do this myself. I get tips and share tips with other people. So you comment is totally unnecessary.

❤️❤️ the way it turned out 👍
Thank you 💕
Love white and silver!
Me too! 😊
Wow beautiful and a lot of great tips for several Dixie Bell products!! Thanks!
Thank you! 💕
It would be much easier to lay the piece flat to add the decoupage plus rip the paper off unevenly above the flowers and then the line wouldn't show
I went that route with the first paper And decided using the whole sheet worked better on this piece. Since the paper is so small I didn’t need to lay it down. I would definitely lay down for a bigger Decoupage papers though.
That’s exactly what I would have done. Turned out really nice though!
Beautiful design 💯❣

It’s beautiful!
Thank you ☺️
lovely
Thank you!
Turned out beautiful :)
Thank you! 😊
This is gorgeous. I love the floral detail. A good tip with the decoupage paper is to use a wadded up piece of cling wrap to smooth it. It has a slick enough surface that it won’t tear it like your fingers might. Just a thought. I learned that trick from The Reclaimed Heirloom. Love your channel, I’ve been binge watching your videos all morning. 🙂
Loving your videos. Thank you.... everything is awesome
Thank you so much!
New subscriber. I love that piece and the way you instruct. I use to help my dad paint and he also was a carpenter. I used to work in a signage shop so I've picked up a lot of knowledge over the years that will help me in flipping furniture. I've a practice piece I'm working on. Like you said, sometimes picking out the color is the hardest part.
Thank you!
How wonderful to have to have those experiences. I’m sure you will be great at flipping furniture. Good luck on your journey!
