Nathan Fillion looking directly into the camera to say "Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down" feels very much like them telling the fans, "YOU are the reason this movie based on a canceled show exists."
Dammit. That's beautiful. 😢
Double meaning... like Mal asking Zoe how Serenity is doing, and she answers, "She's tore up plenty... but she'll fly true." She really wasn't talking about the ship, and it kinda broke my heart.
Maladaptive parasociality
This is why I would put Out of Gas last in the TV series. That, “Y’all gonna be here when I wake up?” would get a heartfelt “We’ll be here” from everyone who fell in love with this crew.
Wow never thought of it like that
"She always did love to dance."
Summer Glau's first profession was as a ballerina. Unfortunately, a broken toe ended her career in ballet - she can no longer dance en pointe - so she made a new career for herself as an actor. When we see River hiding on the ceiling, using nothing but her muscles and friction to cling there, that's Summer Glau doing EXACTLY that; she is that strong.
All of River's fight scenes are actually Summer Glau dancing. In her final fight with the reavers I've heard that she found out the camera man was also a dancer, so they choreographed the fight as a pas de deux, a dance of two people, in this case Summer and the camera, with occasional extras getting in the way of Summer's foot or hand. Which is how they could film it in one long take, with no cuts - the choreography made sure that the camera was always in the right place, pointed in the right direction.
That I did not know. Interesting.
Also, Summer demonstrated the ability to kick around a pole, so that added a pole to the middle of the room in the first fight scene just so that she could kick someone around it.
I heard Summer did 95% of her stunts.
@@davidmundy2906 Is it that low?
I always remember Nathan Fillion's joke at a panel... "How do Reavers clean their spears? They run them through the Wash" He said it right next to Alan Tudyk, and the crowd was stunned into horrified silence
holy shit i just cackled
@@TheBloobster same lol
I'd heard the joke, of course - never knew it came from Nathan. That's....hysterical.
How do you clear out a room full of Reavers? You run a River through it.
@@olddog330 Well played. A bit on the nose, but well played, friend 👏
No one ever recovers from Wash's death. 😢 A story I've heard that I hope is true; at one of the comicon conventions after this movie came out, Alan Tudik met a woman in full Zoe costume but she was carrying a severed head under her arm. When Alan asked about the head, the woman replied, "It's Joss Whedon. No one messes with my man."
I think this series could pull its own super-con and have half the world show-up to cosplay literally ANYONE from the 'Verse.
Ariel, Beaumonde, Haven, Whitefall, Persephone, even Miranda...costumes would be easy.
I'd go.
Better to be a browncoat and get wrecked than to never feel wrecked at all!! Thanks for joining Firefly forever.
Couldn't have said it better myself!
@@meltorme-ntor2933 shinny!
Well said.
firefly fans were given the short end of the stick, but we took that stick, and well, we took it, and that's something
There will never be another series like Firefly.... Serenity had a unique crew. 💘 🎥 🏆 I truly enjoyed all of your reaction videos to the series and movie.
My favorite part is when they're at the table, planning- Jayne says his bit about Sheppard Book and slides the bottle he's drinking from to Simon- FINALLY accepting him as part of the crew.
It's a little thing, but it's really cool too.
The very end is nice too "Storm's getting worse."
"We'll pass through it, soon enough..."
"I swallowed a bug" was River's cryptic way of saying that Serenity had taken in a Reaver during the barnswallow maneuver. When you re-watch the series, you can try to figure out all of River's cryptic non sequiturs.
"She's tore up plenty, but she'll fly true..." Zoe wasn't just speaking about Serenity. And 20 years later it's still too soon.....
Yes, she was. Serenity was their home, and she voiced her concerns earlier about turning Serenity into a Reaver ship. Given the extensive damage Serenity took when it crashed down, losing engines, it was doubtful it would ever make it back into space.
@@jeffburnham6611she was talking about Serenity - but she was ALSO talking about herself.
@@ernesthakey3396 Indeed. And in the same vein, Mal wasn't really asking about Serenity when he asked the question.
There's a follow-up comic that might add a little hope to the Zoe-Wash story.
@@ernesthakey3396 exactly....
One of my favorite parts is the exchange between Mal and Zoe when they talk about how Zoe is doing without actually talking about it.
"Think she'll hold together? "
"She's tore up plenty, but she'll fly true."
I hated Wash dying, but from a storytelling perspective, it really made you believe that no one was safe in the final sequences. I'm glad it had that impact, and wasn't just a shock death.
So true! I didn't think anyone was safe after that
@@AddieCountsI think that was Whedon's intent.
@@Caseytify Yes it was. Books death was the point where movie got serious but when Wash died - it was when movie became realistic. No long goodbyes, no drama - just a guy that was there one second and next second he is gone.
@@AddieCounts Exactly. It was Book (Ron Glass) and Wash (Alan Tudyk) slated to die because they couldn't commit to a contract for more, due to having other commitments. Although Joss Whedon hinted that he had ideas of ways to bring them back.
@@AddieCounts Yep, I was in the movie theater it got deathly silent and then someone behind me said she felt like she was going to faint and suddenly everyone was crying.
Twenty years... it's been 20 years.. and I still tear up at "I'm a leaf on the wind"...
Addie - you're a Browncoat now. When you've rejoiced for River, and cried for Wash, you're a Browncoat.
If there's any solace - in the comics that followed the movie, it was revealed that Zoe was pregnant. So, something of Wash lives on!
As a younger sibling, I tear up whenever River says "my turn". I can't express how much I understand that.
It felt so incredibly wrong, laughing at Kaylee's declaration of intent to live, so soon after Wash died. But it was exactly what we needed, and Joss Whedon knew that.
..'cause he's a toxic - NOW OLD - horny male?
For me, River's fight with the Reavers has become more intense the more I think about it. Basically, she's using her mind-reading power to know what her opponents are about to do, which is obviously a great advantage in combat. But it also means that she's being assaulted with the full force of their malice and hunger and god knows what else. Plus, because her amygdala has been surgically removed she can't ignore any of it (ep9 Ariel). By the time the Alliance bursts through the wall, she's probably on a knife's edge between human and Reaver and the look in her eyes gives me chills every time I see it.
Wow, that's a great take.
It's been debunked, but my friends and I, after seeing this, feel the movie kind of sneakily addressed Book's past.
He talks about how the Operative believes, and believes hard, in the "Greater Good" of the Alliance, and how that makes him incredibly dangerous, and how Mal needs to find something to believe in himself if he's going to defeat the Operative. Then, the Operative has his faith in the Alliance shattered, to the point he says "there is nothing left to see" of him after. It feels like they were really strongly implying the Operative and Book were essentially the same character at two different points in their journey: Book was once like the Operative, lost his faith in the Alliance but found something else to believe it to give his life meaning. At the end of the film, the Operative will now have to find a way to follow Book's path, or one similar.
Imagine being in the theatre watching this movie, surrounded by Firefly fans many of them wearing knitted Jayne hats. The joy and laughter as Wash utters his "leaf on the wind" line and the shocked silence at his sudden death. I've never experienced anything like it.
I have very little idea what it was like too--even though I did see it in the theater. Rest of the world kinda dropped out for a spell...
Wash dying, even just watching it in this reaction video, always tears me up.
I only WISH I had seen this in the theater! 😭 When it was released, I hadn’t even watched my first episode of Firefly yet…
Joss Whedon is that kind of writer. He will kill beloved characters in his shows when least expect it.
@@kHanSolo469 One of the reasons my best friend is my best friend is that when I came home from college for fall break, she handed me a copy of the DVDs and said, "Watch this in 3 days--we're going to see the movie in theaters when you're done!"
Passion of the Christ on Ash Wednesday opening and the funeral procession at the end of American Sniper are the only two like it, and they were quite a bit more uh... felt. But yeah, Wash's death makes 3rd, actually.
The stunt scenes (including the one where River is on the ceiling) are *all* done by Summer herself. The roof bit was measured so she could do the splits between the walls (she has serious gymnastics/dance training, so she had the flexibility to do it). According to the commentary on the dvd, Summer was asked "what she could do" by the stunt team, so the main fight was based on that. The reverse flip kick was done without a wire and the leg kick to Jayne was done with her just standing there unaided xD I met her irl. She is so tiny, but so lovely as a person 💜
Oh! I forgot. The fight scene at the end where you see Mal hit the floor with his face. Most of the swelling is, in actual fact real! He'd been throwing himself down so hard in previous takes, that when he got his make up touched up, the make up artist went "This is really good special effects..! Wait..!" The bloodshot eye looks that realistic cos he was wearing contacts and the dye used to make the effect got behind it and made that effect.
And Addie, you now feel how fans all felt when we first saw it. Welcome to the Browncoats! 💜
Not going to lie, I've been waiting for this reaction since you watched the first episode of Firefly
Me too!
same
🙇♂️
Yup! Same
thanks for not lying.
I think the two things that emotionally affect me the most in Serenity are...
1. Zoe's non-reaction to Wash's death. She shuts down her feelings and carries on... and it feels terrible.
2. Simon talking to River at the end when he thinks he's not going to survive.
We all had to go through this, Addie. Congratulations, you are now officially one of us. Please head over to your left and we will start getting you fitted for a brown coat.
Don't forget the pledge: "I aim to misbehave." And the password: "Can't stop the Serenity!"
Yeah I came here just to let her know that she's one of us now. You can't take the sky from me.
You're right to not be ok. It's been years, but any discussion of Wash still leads to the reply "Too Soon."
"I am not ok" is a common thing to hear in Serenity Reactions. Your a true Browncoat now.
River very nearly had to kill all those soldiers, too. Good on that assassin dude for saving their lives.
You should watch the River Tam sessions in order. Summer Glau absolutely puts on an acting clinic and showcases how insanely talented she is. Highly recommend
Seconded. Just know they're super dark.
The Firefly journey is never over. It's been nearly 20 years since the movie and we're still not over it.
So, the actor who played Wash, he did a series called Con Man that was basically a story about himself having been on a short-lived TV series that became a cult favorite and went on the convention circuit. I consider it an unofficial sequel to Firefly, even though it's more of a comedy about scifi actors. There's a _lot_ of cameos in it, from Firefly and from other popular scifi shows. I recommend it. If you want more of Mal, he starred in Castle after this, and they did a lot of Firefly references.
* Essential characters have “plot armor” in the event of subsequent seasons or movie sequels.
* For the movie Serenity (2005), Ron Glass (Book) and Alan Tudyk (Wash) COULD NOT commit to a sequel so their characters were “killed off” - Book’s death was expected and justified but Wash’s death was unexpected and unjustified.
* The movie Serenity provided some closure for most TV fans.
I started out by watching Serenity, and only after that finding out there was a TV series before. So I had kind of a bittersweet time watching Firefly, knowing what would happen. So Wash talking about buying Zoe a slinky dress... Well, that is what she wore at his funeral.
"I aim to misbehave."
I strongly recommend finding a copy of the graphic novel, "Serenity: The Shepherd's Tale," which fills in some of Book's backstory. I'd've rather seen it played out with Ron Glass (RIP), but it's MUCH better than nothing.
Also, apparently Nathan Fillion is negotiating a potential trilogy of "Firefly" made-for-TV movies. At best, it'll be a couple years in the making (if we ever see them at all), but there's a chance.
On a "worth reviewing" note, you might check out "Farscape." Four seasons and a TV movie. The first season is only okay, but things really start getting good by the middle of the second season, and I think you'd REALLY enjoy it.
It's pretty bad. The comic format does it no favors
I was SO skeptical of Farscape when I first started watching it... I just kept thinking "This is so dumb, what IS this?!" and then they got the better budget. The story picked up. It got so much better out of nowhere and I was ALL in.
This film was my first introduction to the Firefly universe, and what surprised me was how quickly I cared for the characters; it was such good writing. The death of Book and Wash really upset me, so I can only imagine the impact on anyone who had followed them from the TV series. The film, as a stand-alone science fiction, is in my top 10, and the look still holds up today. Travestie that the series was cancelled. Well done to whoever added this great movie as a conclusion.
Did you watch the series and then watch Serenity again?
If so, what was that experience like?
@@UTU49 Yes, I did, and it was still a fun, entertaining ride, even being foreshadowed by Serenity. But I feel it'd be better to watch Firefly than Serenity as it was meant to be,
@@funjuror
Did Serenity feel different after watching Firefly?
@@UTU49 Yes, I watched Serenity with a greater understanding of the characters, making the second viewing richer. But the film stands on its own, with no prior knowledge of Firefly, a real achievement, in my opinion, one of the best :)
always love that line " I aim to misbahave"
I have seen this film 30-40 times, so it doesn't really affect me emotionally any more......that is, until I see someone watching it for the first time. I'm crying with you, Addie.
Thank you for reacting to this show/movie. I have yet to meet or watch anyone who has and not gotten emotionally attached to the crew.
Book ended up providing the inspiration for Mal to defeat the Alliance's Operative.
River reached final release when she was able to cast off all the darkness inside. Her final exchange with Mal is wonderful.
Nathan Fillion made a few Firefly nods/mentions/Easter eggs/jokes in Castle. One Halloween episode he dressed up as Malcolm Reynolds. It was cute.
Serenity wrecked all of us. It still wrecks us every time we see it, or watch a reactor watch it. No power in the verse will stop the hurt that there was not more Firefly made, but having the series readily available and the film has helped ease the pain.
The Browncoats helped achieve the impossible with the DVD set and with the film, and that makes us mighty. Nathan, Alan, Gina, Adam, Ron, Morena, Sean, Summer, and Jewel are all in our hearts forever as Mal, Wash, Zoe, Jayne, Book, Anara, SImon, River, and Kaylee...now, they are in yours. Don't be surprised if they pop up and ask you to visit the series or the movie again and again.
You may have come late to the shindig, Addie...but you are one of us. You may be tore up plenty right now, but you'll still fly true!
Wash's death will always be too soon.
“He ain’t comin’” always makes me cry.
Poor Wash 💜 Great reaction. Your jumpiness was adorable.
Welcome to the sadness that is no more Firefly... But if you wanna see more of some of the cast:
- Nathan Fillion: Dr. Horribles Sing-Along Blog (short musical feat. Neil Patrick Harris)
- Summer Glau: Terminator - The Sarah Connor Chronicles (super underappreciated and, like Firefly, gone way too soon)
- Jewel Staite: Stargate Atlantis (season 4 and 5, character similar to Kaylee, but repairing humans instead of engines)
- Morena Baccarin: Stargate SG1 (season 10 and movie The Ark of Truth) and the series V, where in both she shows her abillitiy to play darker, yet still elegant characters
Sure, there is way more and newer stuff of everyone, but these are some of my personal favorites.
My favorite bit of trivia from this movie is the phrase used to make River go to sleep. It's a Russian idiom, roughly: "that's for the chickens to laugh at". Basically like saying "that's ridiculous". It's interesting that they chose a Russian idiom, in the Russian language, to use as a safe word. As we've seen in the show and movie, English and Mandarin are the two main languages spoken by everyone in the 'Verse. We haven't really encountered any Russians or Russian speakers, although presumably other ethnic cultures did make it off of Earth and into the Firefly 'Verse, like Irish people. But Russian may very well be a dead language, or very uncommon, and the phrase is very unlikely for River to ever encounter once they finished doing whatever they did to her and sent her out on missions. It would require the three very unlikely coincidences of River encountering somebody who knew Russian, and somebody with enough knowledge of Russian idioms to use that particular one, and somebody happening to use that idiom in casual conversation. All-in-all, very unlikely, at least in the Firefly 'Verse.
What a journey it has been. From the pilot episode to the motion picture. I am so glad that I found this channel.
It's been almost 20 years and I'm still not over it. BUT, this movie is how I met my wife and some of my closest friends. It's something special.
I choose to believe that the operative went and joined a convent to come to terms with what he did and perhaps, years later, feels ready to return to the worlds and make them a better place...
Re-incarnation of the Shepherd’s life 🤔
Now you are a Browncoat!
Welcome, and thank you for sharing your journey! :)
Seeing the movie, I could understand Zoe's reaction to Wash's death.
On the morning of Dec 11, 2000, I was waiting to hear from my mother at the hospital. The phone call came, and all she said was, "He's gone".
My father had died.
I replied, "You want me to come pick you up?"
She said, "are you okay?"
me: "Yeah, I'm fine. You want me to come pick you up?" I think she was a bit startled at how calm I was.
The rest of that morning, I was a robot. An eerily calm robot. I made arrangements to get paid so I could afford my father's cremation, made the arrangements for the cremation, discussed plans with my mother... all calm and completely emotionless.
I went upstairs to take a shower... got out... got halfway across the room and literally collapsed on the floor sobbing. My mind had told me that his death had been dealt with, and I had the luxury of mourning.
Then I heard my mother from downstairs, on the phone with my brother, "oops... there goes ". She'd heard from downstairs.
Immediately, the tears dried up, and the robot was back.
Instinctively I had subconsciously known I had to suppress my emotions to get my mother through this day.
There's a time for mourning, and a time for dealing with life.
Zoe could mourn later. First, she had to turn to face (in the words of Kipling) the immediate need of things.
Can't have heartbreak without love.
There's a story about an autograph signing. A fan went to get Alan Tudyk's. He signed, "I'm a leaf on the wind." She broke down in tears. "That's what you said when you died!"
“I’m not OK” is pretty much what we all said - and felt - at the end… welcome to the world of Browncoats.
Twenty years later and we’re still not ready for firefly to be over
Oh man, that look when the end credits roll. Felt that, all over again.
The movie serves as The Series Finale that we should have gotten years earlier.
except that Wash and Book would not have died (per Joss Whedon)
Shepherd Book was explained in a novel, basically he was a spy for the Colonials/Browncoats. He replaced an Alliance Officer who worked his way up the ranks gathering information for the Browncoats. This is why he was given preferential treatment when he was injured and the Alliance boarded and it's why he knows about much of the workings of the Alliance.
So incredibly bittersweet. This Firefly journey is such a two-sided sword. We got to witness you fall in love with the show and its characters. But we also experienced your emotional pain of the end. We who had previously watched Firefly got to relive it all through your eyes and heart. The ups and the downs. The joy and the heartbreak. The laughter and the tears.
Thank you, sweet lady, for allowing us to ride along with you. 🤗
I came at Firefly through the back door. A friend invited me to see Serenity in the theater, and explained it was a failed TV series. At the end of the movie I turned to him and asked "How on earth did they think to cancel the show behind this?!" I loved the unpredictability of crew members survival. Then I went and saw the series, in the right order. I still have hope beyond hope that someone will realize the value of making a high-quality animated series, similar to the style of 7th-season The Clone Wars, to continue the show, maybe even find a spot for Alan to return as a character: clone, twin...robot. Yeah, I've heard Alan always wanted to play a robot.
I have a t-shit with "I am a leaf on the wind, watch how I soar" logo and a bloodstain on the chest.
My friend has promised to punch me if I wear it around her.
River had the best line in the film. I swallowed a bug.
As a huge Firefly fan, and one who watched it when it originally aired, I look at the cancellation a bit differently. Yes we are all sad and upset it didn't get to have a full run of episodes since it was so great. But maybe its shortness is why it is so great.
If you look at interviews with the writers and creators of the show, they are constantly talking about how right from the start they were afraid of cancellation. And because of that, they tried to write every episode with an emotional immediacy. And that for me is the main reason this show feels so special.
Without that threat of cancellation it probably would have still been a fun show. But would it have been a an unbelievably great one? Who knows. In the end, I can just be grateful for what we got. A very special show.
Damnit! Got something in my eye. Every time I watch this movie. Having watched Buffy and Angel, Joss has a habit of randomly killing off your favorite character. So, coming into this movie I knew it was going to be a roller coaster.
I would love to see a second movie. And, YES!!! Bring back Saffron for the second movie.
"Finally," she said. "October is over and I can watch a nice movie with no jump-scares."
.

.
I'm gonna tell her....
It is an emotional meatgrinder for us brown coats and none of use will ever be ok with losing Wash. The suddenness of Wash's loss and the speed with which they had to move on and keep performing is a feature soldiers experience in war...and Zoe was used to war. But the movie did answer a lot of questions and tie up some storylines. We all wish we had more of this, but we make do with sharing it vicariously through reactors like yourself.
There's a series of Firefly audiobooks on Audible, they take place between the end of the series and the movie (as far as I can tell, I'm on book 3).
Ooh! Where can I find it!
Hearing the phrase "I am a leaf on the wind" still chokes me up. I got to see this in a fan prescreening in a theater in NYC, and oh man did Wash's death ruin everyone there. Especially me, since he's my favorite character.
I'm so glad you got to see this for the first time, and I look forward to your next video!
32:18 "Ceiling River is watching you copulate..." 🤣🤣🤣
"I'm a leaf on the wind", already off the tree, already dead, though I may not even know it yet
8:35, jump scare, Addie yells "Oh My Mother!" I've never heard that one before Addie. You're always entertaining though, I must say!
🙂
Addie dropped Kaylee's "twixt my nethers" line. I wanted to see that reaction. 😂
So many times during the Firefly reactions, I desperately wanted to write: “NOBODY TELL HER!!!” But I knew that would be too much.
All said, welcome to the family, Browncoat!
The show deserved this closure, I'm still in love with the crew and the ending leaves a bitter taste ..... I can't imagine how good this show would have been with a proper amount of episodes. Chiwetel Ejiofor is amazing as the "Operative".
When Book died it was not totally unexpected, but Wash came out of nowhere. I'm glad nobody gave you any spoilers. Thanks for becoming one of us!
26:28 aaaaaaaand now you're one of us.
Also "I do, but I like to hear you say it" may not be my favorite line, but is really my favorite part of the movie.
This movie was a double-edged sword,it's omg more firefly after all these years then the stabbing realization that we'll never get more again.
3:26 You weren't ready for this heart-wrecking movie.
Yeah, this one broke all of us Browncoats… was not expecting for the ending to be so… well NOT Shiny. RIP Shepherd, RIP Wash
The Dude abides… 😉👍🏻
Well, now you're one of US- The Firefly community.
Welcome. It was worth the ride.
Addie, I'm incredibly glad that you fell in love with a story/series that has meant so much to so many of us for so long.
They had the rumor mill running that a character was going to die, and everyone assumed it was Book when it happened. But after it was Wash as well, people (like you) thought they just might kill everyone off. But I remember hearing Alan Tudyk joking around asking the other cast members why his script was not as long as the other actors. LOL
fans of this have never fully got over 'it'
In 10 years time I want a sequel, with Chiwetel playing a fresh out of the abbey shepherd who knows more than he really should, guiding a crew of reprobates.
I watched the full-length version, and your reactions did not disappoint! We're so glad you're a Browncoat now! 👍👍
That review was downright shiny! It's just sad this show came to such a gorram early end. But wars for independence and amazing TV shows don't always go the way we like. Thanks for being such a cherry blossom this whole time. Browncoats forever!
I saw the movie first. I had friends who were so excited that there was this movie of a show that they loved, and they recommended I go see it. So I went when it came to the cheap theater, and I loved the style, so when I got home, I immediately ordered a DVD boxed set of the show.
If you really really want more Firefly content, on your own time, there are some series of Serenity comics that fill in or continue some of the story. There is "Shepherd's Tale", which tells Book's backstory. And there are some about the main crew. And they do show Zoe with a baby bump, so cheer up! Despite being a long time fan, I actually have a couple of these comics still sitting unread in a drawer here at home, so I can cherish that I still have some Firefly content waiting for me.
"I just don't want this to be over..." one of us, one of us! But really, we all feel that way.
As far as wash goes... It'll ALWAYS be too soon.
There are comic books and tie in novels that resolve all the loose plot threads like Book's backstory and take these characters far beyond the movie.
The ending is so intense, most everyone is on the edge of their seat wondering who all is going to die. It's so well done.
Your "I'm not okay" at the end pretty much sums it up. It's a bittersweet ending. But I'm so glad we had this film to give us some form of closure. I love these characters. And I love their stories. And I have the feeling you'll revisit this show (and the film) again in the future. Can't stop the signal...
I had the pleasure of seeing Serenity in theaters. I was only 50-75% through my first time viewing Firefly, but I was afraid the movie wouldn't be in theaters by the time I finished the show. Seeing the film changes how you see the series, and vice versa. Although, not my favorite series, Firefly/Serenity is one of the GREATEST shows ever. Thank you, Addie, for adding them to your channel.
Alan Tudyk actually said that when this movie was going to be the final Firefly Arc he asked the writers to kill his character off.
You have read the comics to get Book's background. Nathan was also responsible for the set as he took pictures of the original set plans. Those were lost, he provided the movie set designers the photos to rebuild the set.
I got super emotional after I watched this movie. Not only because of the deaths of a few of the characters, but also added that this is the final romp we'll have with the crew of Serenity. I love this show. "Love keeps her in the air when she oughtta fall down." Love will keep Serenity alive forever in our hearts.
Nathan Fillion's character on "Castle" dressed up as Mal for the Halloween episode the first Halloween that "Castle" was on.
I cant think of another series ,in any genre, that could take unknown characters and in one series make us care for them as much as this one did. Great writing, casting, acting, direction, a near perfect series.
Not just that, but even most good series take a full season to "get their feet under them."
In one incomplete series, at that.
Arcane is a good one for making you care about the characters right away.
That's how I felt about BSG and star gate universe. Loved the characters in those two shows almost from the start
"Gravity Falls."
Addie the Firefly journey ended too soon, but so happy you enjoyed it.
I was there the first day it was in the theaters. Some people just lost it when Wash died. I heard that this happened at multiple locations. They looked like they would have to get another ticket to see the ending because they didn't look like they were paying much attention after that.
The actors did all their own stunt work.
I absolutely hate this movie and absolutely adore this movie at the same time... I'm not crying, you're crying!
31:14, the reaver River is punching is Neil Patrick Harris, who was originally considered considered for the part of Malcolm Reynolds.
FYI: Summer Glau (River) played a similar role on The Sara Connor Chronicles. The first season was only 9 episodes and was pretty good.
