VW Polo | Water Leaking from Speakers |

💧 This car was brought to us because the windows kept steaming up and sometimes the carpet in the passenger footwell was wet. Previously, the customer had left a window open in the rain and the car had got soaked, so the customer was unsure if the issues were caused by this or if there was a new leak. Things like that can drive you mad.
Sure enough, after inspection there was found to be water leaking from the speakers and the door membrane... which on this model of car is less of a membrane and more of an access panel.
We did find water under the carpet, although not in huge amounts. So after getting the parts and fixing the leaks, we dried the car and returned it to the customer.

The water was coming from under the dash. Not the speakers. When the customer was using the rear windscreen wash, a fault in the piping under the passenger side dash was causing it to spray out over the floor. Same things happened to my polo.
