Exactly. I mean, as a North African, I only recently discovered that real Barbies' heads are not removable (at least not by a child). All I knew as a kid were other random brands of dolls (mostly brandless) and they always came with removable heads and limbs (lol). It made playing easier and more fun since you could swap their heads and bodies and dress the dolls faster. It also makes you feel like a little engineer putting them back together, idk maybe it was just delusional little me 😅

Fake Barbie heads are often removable if you just pull them. They also go right back on since they don’t have the same neck joint as a real Barbie. The fake one wins for me, she came with lots of fun outfits. If you had a kid maybe get the fake calendar and a real Barbie to go with it. The whole cost would be less than the official one anyway.
I grew up with fake babies, and the things that have to go around there necks (like the cloths and necklaces) u have to take the barbies head off and put it on 😂 hope this helps
Fake Barbie did surprise me! Actual fabric clothing, and the accessories weren't bad either. As others have stated, you can probably just take Fake Barbie's head off with no issues to get the halter pieces for the dresses on. Real Barbie feels like a clear the stock room with Dreamtopia and mermaid movie pieces. ❤
To put things on the fake Barbie, you have to remove her head, that kind of dolls head is very easily removed for that, I love these videos, these fake dolls are the ones that accompanied me in my childhood. They make me very very happy!

In the 80s Barbie came with a lot of stuff you were supposed to put over her head and the way you did it was you removed her head and put it around her neck. Back then the doll heads came off easily. I'm assuming the Barbie knock-off doll probably has a head that comes off easy and that's how you're supposed to put the clothing on

Most fake Barbies just have a ball joint that holds the head on, so they are easy to pop off. I'm sure they intend people to pop the head off to dress her and add accessories.
I could be wrong, but I think with a lot of the cheap dolls you can just pop the head right off and put it back on, the neck peg is usually just a ball, not that pronged thing that barbies have. So maybe that's what they were thinking with the dresses that have the small neck openings?? I think with the necklace though, it just didn't get cut where it was supposed to. (I've gotten ones like that before, you can just cut it yourself with scissors) Let's face it, the only people that would be truly happy with either of these sets are small children, I don't think they care about fabric quality, so definitely fake barbie ftw! 😆 Thanks for another fun video :)

The neck joint was a ball rather than a peg and it was super easy to pop her head on and off. She made for a great doll when playing Headless Horseman type plots. XD Anyway, I assume this fake Barbie is the same.
If I were Mattel I would do such a good calendar. It would blow up on Socials. BUT if they simply don’t care, THEN I would make it a yearly intern project: Tell your young workers: You don’t get a budget, but be creative within these limitations. You can experiment and try whatever u want

I also loved the fake Barbie more. As an adult, some of the Fake Barbie doll clothing I can fix them. Eg: cut open the back of the neck and sew on a little piece of velcro to put around her neck. As for the dress with ribbon, I cut it off and wear as is, or I buy fine color ribbon to match and sew on a longer piece to tie behind the neck. Shirts, tops etc... I adjusted to fit better on dolls. You just have to sew some of them over to fix.

Even the sets they come with are better. There’s one of them that I saw in my area that came with a full bedroom set. That’s a full bed, has full of Victorian vibes in a pastel pink. It was beautiful. If I had the room, I would buy it. I typically buy them just for the clothing and pieces they come with alone. And even some of them are very cheap in price and have full made to move art articulation on the bellybutton body. It’s pretty crazy. I once found a dollar tree Barbie fake that had a bellybutton body with made to move knees.

It really is crazy that fake Barbie can actually rival or even surpass Official Barbie. Did Barbie have Advent Calendars in the 90s/00s? I keep imagining what those would be like if they did.

In fake barbies, we always took off the head to put it on. In them, it is easily removed and put back. I have not met fake Barbies that have problems with this
idk, fakie has lower quality, but look at her: all stuff is removable, colours fit together, it is very lovely, no molded detailes and childish bad taste clothing, different textil used.... mattel dissapoints.
Barbie may be a better quality, but the order is all wrong. Fake Barbie gave every piece to complete a look in a row.
This! The order matters alot when you have impatient kids gnawing at the bit to get the next thing, all those necklaces in a row would be a nightmare. Hard to expect them not to be disappointed on the third day of tiny plastic necklace 💀
I’m surprised that this year There’s no Barbie advent calendar with normal fashions like in previous years. No matter summer ones or color/cutie reveal, they had some fashions. This one is useless to collectors.

This advent calendar Barbie is sooooo boring... All this plastic pieces, and few clothes... Not inspired this year ! But the "fake" one is cute and has many pieces which would fit a Barbie and would be better on her than her own garnments, I'm certain of that !
This was a fun video. I do wish Mattel would come out with an advent calendar that is between this cheap one and the outrageously priced 12 Days of Christmas. And, yes! It absolutely should be Christmas themed!

As a child, I lost plastic pieces like shoes and acessories so damn quick. I would've preferred more clothes for the real Barbie, too. So yeah, the fake calendar really took the win by a long shot
