Rhett said that even as he was writing it, he didn't feel that the song would be for him in contrast to the other song on the Dangerous album that Rhett wrote; Whiskey'd My Way. Rhett said that one was tough to give up, but that he already had too many similar songs to it set to go on his next album at the time.
