Need MUCH more powdered sugar! But then they would be covered with the powder... lolol.. everyone who leaves restaurant after eating proper ones has face and hands and clothes covered with powder. Coffee with it a must.

Just have to love Aunty. Cafe du Monde in New Orleans is famous for this, hard to beat fresh and warm with a cup of Community coffee.
Coffee is more expensive in that part of the world tea is cheaper and readily available since it is produced locally.

I have been to the place they make these in New Orleans, Cafe Du Monde. The cafe is covered in sugary stickiness. Table and all 😊 Great place to visit. They drink coffee with chicory in it. Chicory is a root used as a substitute for coffee ☕️ sometime in our past. 😄

I used to go to a restaurant where they served these with a small bowl of sweet vanilla whipped cream, they were heavenly. They made them fresh every day but they sold out early.

They would usually have about 3 times as much powdered sugar! They make them look completely white in New Orleans.
As someone from Louisiana, I am appalled by the lack of powdered sugar on those bad boys. Also, idk if I've ever seen the naked bread before lol

Not enough powdered SUGAR . You dare not inhale before you bite in. I had a bad choking fit on sugar the first time I hade some. I inhaled the sugar dust!.
