It's the moon guys... it's literally just the moon. Sam's probably walking on some beach, much like the Sun was huge behind Amelie at the end of DS1 on her beach

One small issue, America doesn't look *exactly* like Iceland, while this celestial body shares the likeness of its surface with our Moon down to every crater, thus it is without a doubt the Moon

What if it is the moon yes, but since it`s closer to earth, it screws with the tides, which could influence the waters creating the flood we saw earlier. Some gravitational mumbo jumbo causing the moon and earth the move closer together, causing it to create the natural disasters we see in the game... Just a thought
I'm pretty sure it wasn't the sun but the earth on fire. But yea, it's definitely the moon. I think it might be some kind of dream sequence. But the visuals are very similar to Amelie's beach, so you might be right there.
BTs were connected via umbilical cords, but in the trailer I noticed the bots and Elle Fanning's character have strings like puppets, like Praying Mantis from MGS4
Maybe it signifies, rather than a natural connection to the Beaches, a synthetic one, like a mended connection?
even the text cuts are less umbilical and more puppet string like in the trailer, as opposed to the final logo reveal.
I think if anything that might be a reference I do believe that later down the story we could find our what it means like we did with BT'S through multiple interviews
What if old Sam and new Sam aren’t…. The same Sam.
The inverted rainbows and white strands were in the first game. They signalled that timefall and BTs were near.

I think that the girl in the pod at the beginning, the floating body with dark hair and the blonde Elle Fanning is the same person. Both of women have bandages on the same arm and the face of the girl in the pod is also Elle Fanning's face, the eyes are quite distinctive.

Dark hair girl is definitely Elle Fanning and most likely the cocoon. I also believe the she is Lou

my thoughts is they dug up the MAMA we bury in the first game up and Elle Fanning blonde is her chiral kid that we release and return to her in the tar and became a chiral person.
100% she is Elle. And I also think we are made to think she’s Lou. Maybe it’s a Red Herring.
If the bb thats controlling the samurai is lou, something tells me that we will be able to have lou control other robots and help us, like turning the dog robots against the enemies
i believe we definitely will have at least two playable characters: Sam and Lou
It’s the moon, in the directors cuts that I’m playing now I just got to a scene from the BBs perspective in the pod where I doctor shows it a picture of the moon in a magazine and says “Look it’s the moon, I’ll show you it in person one day, you’ll be able to go wherever you want.” - That can’t be a coincidence I was shocked just seeing it now while playing.

Great video. All great observations. The only things I’ll add are…
The inverted title card also resembles something being submerged in water (tar).
And the song played over the ending. Rockabye Baby. Makes me think of last line. Down will come baby, cradle ‘n all. I think unfortunately, bringing BB back will be tethered to some bad stuff for humanity. Either she’ll be an extinction entity. Or the barrier between living and dead will collapse.

It's Amelie's face and hair that Higgs is wearing. Like what Hannibal Lector did in Silence of the Lambs
I think the story will be about Sam having to venture to the world of the dead to bring Lou back to the world of the living (explains the inverted strands in the title graphic). It's mentioned Lou is dead in the trailer and I think Sam's mission will mirror Bridgette/Amelie from the first game, where Ameile returned Sam to the world of the living after being shot dead but making him a repatriate in the process.
I think that the UCA completed research regarding the effects of Timefall and were able to reverse the effects and the did the procedure on Fragile

13:25: "Are there dunes in Mexico?" shouldn't even be a question when the first game was supposed to be the United States but most of the landscape was Iceland. Clearly these games don't lineup with the real world.

People have seem to forgot that art whether it's movies or video games can depict anything as anything with any asthetics. It's a world where the realm of the dead and an after life actually exists and it's spilling over into our plane of existence. And it's explained via made up in universe science.
How are people so caught up that the world doesn't look like our real world. Why expect any degree realism when the games world is nothing but surrealism.
Something tells me its not just Mexico. But all over the world. Those dunes could be the Sahara.

I noticed Elle fanning is wearing a bandage on her arm where Quite was removing the hairs, so she was in the cocoon. Great breakdown video.

25:50 you can see the bag floating away, so probably we can't leave it there for *too* long.
also notice how some particle animations begin to surround the bag, which I believe would indicate some chiral crystal properties
Well they mentioned that the ship is exploring the Seam, so perhaps there’s some relationship with the Bots and the Seam if the bags are floating?
The "Tar Cat" is an emblem you can earn in Metal Gear Solid V.

the huge twist is that the entire game all the cutscenes with cliff are actually just Sam’s own memories and he was one of if not “the original Bridge Baby” and he thought that it was Lou making him have those flashbacks but it was really just his own memories of his dad! It’s confusing if you think too hard but I hope I explained it good enough

The puppet might be the logical and pensive part or soul of the gooey cat. See how he hisses at Higgs. At this point I will give up trying to understand. I tried the first game which I loved, so Im just here for the ride this time with all these trailers

no one seems to be mentioning: the scene with the higgs-bots hanging in air like bt's, you can see what looks to be inverted strands catching glints of light. IMO, they aren't the same as umbilical cords though, they look more like the thin puppet strings we see on the young girl (i think we're all assuming is Louise?) in the scene where she appears to be eavesdropping.
puppets and puppet strings seem to be a pretty major recurring theme in the imagery. worth noting.
edit: another thing i just noticed, when the Title comes down, initially it starts to just look like the usual cord introduction, HOWEVER, at the end of each letters animation they do a little sway, very much mimicking things on puppet-like strings
One small additional detail i noticed is the melody Higgs plays on the guitar when attacking the samurai are the first three notes of Lou's Lullaby !

16:00 Tar rose up from necrosing bodies and floated. Most notable at the beginning of the game where central knot city was voided out.
Maybe Higgs and the bad batch brought the moon closer to trigger gravity anomalies and that's why we now have BTs with strands attached to the ground. The moon is pulling the tar from underneath the earth
I think the DHV Magellan is using The Seam or The Beach in the same way ships in Warhammer 40k use The Warp to get around. Note how we always see it coming out of Tar lakes, which I think may indicate that, like BTs, it's emerging from the Beach into our world. This would also explain the shot of the Magellan coming out of the baby's mouth, maybe they've figured out some way to make those aboard the ship pseudorepatriates, technically dead just long enough for them to travel on the beach, but leaving them alive and well when they reach their destination in the world of the living.
At the end of the trailer, along with the credits of the game, there is fine print that reads "CGI Moon Kit courtesy of NASA's SVS (Ernie Wright and Noah Petro)". So yeah, I think that was the Moon.
Magellan dived here, so the strand is upward. In 1st game fishes in sea are opposite.
The floating girl is elle fanning. They both have the same bandage on their elbow.
Higgs definitely came back through whatever tech build the robots, its just weird that he has organs and they dont

The symbolism of a bridge vs that of a drawbridge is also interesting.
The latter being able to revoke access to a passageway. Perhaps to keep out any of the weird monsters that are emerging from the tar
An interesting side note about the 4 droids and the dog. There are 2 types of driods in the scene 24:51 as denoted not just by the display on their headgear but also 2 carry deployable dogs on their shoulders and the other two seem to be holding staves with an extra hand on the backpack. Also, the dog isn't neutered.
BT now have glowing eyes. Metal on Sam's shoulder turns into 3D printed plastic.
I think the red sky in the BT-like encounters might indicate something new and interesting. Perhaps these aren't strictly BTs, perhaps there's something mechanically different about the way BT encounters behave in the game world. Or maybe it just looks cool, who knows!

What about the puppet string metaphor? We now have strands coming from the top in the title screens, and we have the little puppet sidekick. There has to be something there right?

Well if you want to make deliveries because literally that's all you do you'll be doing it for 11 hours and then the game opens up a little more woth a few more options on how to complete those deliveries. But try it maybe you'll like it.
Definitely play the first one. Its so freaking good. Starts a little slow but its beyond fun
And don't give up, the game opens a LOT after chapter 3, just play it on easy mode if you're in for the story.
It’s a good game story and graphic wise but gameplay wise I’m just not interested in caring around a bunch of luggage 🤷🏾♂️ so when the second come out I will watch on RUclips
14:00 there was a night time event on DS1, when you first arrive to Lake Knot City
I realized that in the Moon shot, the texture corresponds to the actual Moon's texture but it is inverted!! (not rotated). It is like a mirror image of the Moon. 🌛🌜
In the armory you can see the rope again. It mainly stood out because in the trailer they only show robot enemy’s.
I actually didn't notice control sticks on the vehicles and was 100% sure the vehicles will be automated this time. Someone corrected me and I noticed the sticks, but... I think that truck has a camera, or a sensor. And the fact the there is no hood... maybe we'll be able to shoot while driving on auto-pilot?
26:00 those bots could be just charging with chiralium network and Sam taking them down before they could harm him
Great video, enjoyed it a lot! In the first game we learned the earth don't rotates anymore that's the reason why it's always day, that means on other places on earth it's always night! It depents if it's still not rotating like in DS1, and we will visit other places not only mexico then maybe we see a country in the new trailer where it's always night. But if the earth rotates again, we will have a day and night cycle. 26:32 It's not a joker make up, it's a the crow make up by the way 😉

In my opinion Sam's white hair is linked to the black, considering in the trailer and the gameplay we only see the white hair when he's blue aka on the beach, but brown hair and younger when he isn't on the beach
I have the theory that Fragile and Sam somehow swapped DOOMS levels. Fragile's BT senses were dulled, but her age was transfered to Sam. That's why we see her with Fragile instead of Sam.
Sam's probably running solo again for whatever reason, something that might require Fragile's abilties, but he had her watch Lou instead. But when he got her powers, her timefall damage transfered to him.
It could be that Kojima is pulling a fast one by changing the appearance of Sam in the trailer, which isn't a thing Kojima is a stranger to doing.

What if we’re just in the world but inverted, when they dive in the black ink they could just be in the inverted world where everything is mixed around
at one point fragile says something like "you're not here to expand the uca, we just want expand the network to here, like you did in mexico". which implies there's more than just mexico in terms of areas.

Perhaps some clues are in the title: On The Beach. Perhaps they’ve learned more about the beach and have different ways to access and explore it. Maybe Sam can explore the world from the beach and the flash floods replace the BT’s and getting caught in it sends you back to the world of the living.
But he also didn’t look bluish, so I’m probably wrong about that.

lou dies at the end of the 1st trailer after fragile falls off her bike, i think lou gets shot, and later we see the broken BB pod with lou forming as a BT - both lou and the BT have little wings on their backs! there’s also spikey cryptobiotes?
so maybe lou is like mama’s child - a baby BT, but lou is special somehow, and can actually move from one spot, hence the wings!
the tentacles in the pod might be lou interacting from the beach, potentially linking elle fanning’s character being lou from the beach after emerging from the tar!
If the tar is spawning creatures they should have a connection to the beach like bt's did. So if it is the octopus inside...sam should still be able to use it like he did before with bb.

I’m excited for more combat and action, it needs to be tweaked a little bit from the first game but guns were basically useless in the first game besides boss encounters so I’d like to actually use them. When he engages with the floating “robot” things Sam puts down his pack unlike dumping all the boxes like you can in the first game which will probably make it way easier to switch into combat mode! We’ll see though! Less rope more stick talk bb

That moon shot is interesting. Could it be that that’s the actual moon and where Sam is standing was once a large lake/the sea and because the moon is so close the gravity has pushed the water away? Could also be possible that this shot is close to the end of the story. 🤔

This is mind blowingly good. I didn't play the first one but I will definately play this one. I bought it and just never got around to it. This game world is becoming something more and something more than I could have imagined to come to light. Maybe I'll put on the first game and see what I really think. I'm loving this and very interested in this world.
People have been comparing Higgs makeup to Joker but with the eye style and lipstick with the addition of the long hair and practically coming back from the dead…. He’s more designed after The Crow than joker

I'm very much guided by Edge magazine's scores/reviews. I've always thought of it as the industry journal. It's something I've been a follower of since I was a kid and it has served me well - exposing me to games I may never have tried, but knowing that their 9s and 10s are exceptional games and worthy of my time, I've played and loved significant games in genres I wouldn't otherwise have bothered with.
They hated the first game, and I have to be honest, I did not rate ZOE/2 at all. I've never played Boktai, Snatcher or Policenauts, so my experience of Kojima's games outside of Metal Gear and Penguin Adventure is admittedly somewhat limited, but not positive.
BUT, after this preview, I think I really need to try the first DS game, because this is the most advanced videogame thing I've ever seen and I really want to play this sequel.
Highly, highly recommend.
Captains arm might be the boss itself, and fact that part of his body is living own live in inverted world he has ability to manipulate chiralium and his ship with it

Everybody keeps saying the cat with the tentacle when maybe they should be saying the tentacle imitating a cat. Sorta like a hermit crab imitates a shell but we don't call them shells because its a crab, perhaps the tentacle is wearing the tar so it can survive outside of the tank and just decided to take on the shape of a cat rather than a Ditto. I only wonder if the tar itself is somehow alive similar to Venom, Venom is able to allow his host to breathe in almost any environment, he's already survived in space and underwater.

One thing I noticed that was when George Miller's character puts his severed arm in the port on the Magellan, some tar starts to float from his hair. Might have something to do with what happens when they are going to submerge into the tar.
I also get the feeling that the cat isn't just hidden by his head as he turns, but that it vanishes, as if he's becoming one with the ship in some way.
Maybe the tar cat is part of that that exhudes from Miller

I'm wondering if the humanoid creature at the start is an evolved human. The mass extinctions were followed by evolved new generation life forms. And this is where this cat and octopus/human creature is?
Yeah, I think that is going to be a part of maybe the messaging of the game is that in order for things to improve the old world needs to burn down and that the whole “should we have stayed connected” message also pertains to whether Sam should have just let the last stranding happen.

Elle fannings “Ki” or soul has been separated from her body which is why none of the main characters are turning and looking back at her walking around it’s like an out of body experience they’re trying to put her back in the body
