I think Death Stranding was the most memorable gaming experience I have had in a long time. It was way more than just a walking simulator, and I found it more engaging then most action games. Even when just walking around I had to be fully engaged with every step and try to have every step and path planned out. The gameplay loop had me addicted. The story was wacky as hell, but interesting, and surprisngly by the end it was mostly all explained and it made sense. The last chapter had me in tears all through out. I think it's really too bad there was a lot of people who missed out on the game because of pre conceived notions. The game is so much more than what it seems.
Post-covid must hit different in this game. I was isolated for medical reasons when Death Stranding launched and it felt so special, I really hope they improve on variety in bases and shelters, there is so much to be done Death Stranding may not be the best game i've played, but it was one of the most powerful experiences I had with media overall
Love him or hate him, his trailers will always draw you in because they are uniquely Kojima. No matter if you watching to make fun of his craziness or applaud him for going against the grain, his trailer stands out because you will never see it anywhere else lol
Brother the guy straight up said movie are too limited and the guy has so much of a good resume he being loved by all the big name actor and producer of the modern era. The guy is known to never do a game twice the same he always reach for perfection. THE MAN IS THE GOAT OF GAMING
Your said that the glove mask does not have a function and I beg to differ. There is the ‚hold your breath‘ mechanic in the first game. I immediately thought about that and now they have found a way to automate it for better protection. Wouldn’t t you agree?
yeah this makes sense, idk why he was so married to the idea it made no sense before the game even came out and ofc there would be a explanation then. this makes perfect sense for the world
12:16 pretty sure thats just a reference to their last encounter, where it was "rope vs stick, gun vs strand"(his words).. Which he also refers to by saying "even a porter has to pull the trigger from time to time" since last time Sam didnt pull the trigger but left it up to Fragile, who just ended up leaving Higgs "stranded".
1:40 Nalgene bottles like that have a reservoir that goes down to the base of the bottle and squeezing forces the contents up the flu and put the nozzle. The vertical orientation with downward angled nozzle have a lot of uses, but one is to ensure even flow when applying solvent or cleaner. Inverting a bottle can cause glugging and splatter, which can cause damage depending on what's in the bottle.
Bro it’s just symbolism, he didn’t think wouldn’t a baby be weird, it’s cuz the game is about that paternal instinct, that’s why his ideas are so foreign to ppl he’s going symbolism over practical.
I like how all of higgs attacks were based off rockstar guitar tricks. Soloing then guitar strap spin then power slide then after that it looked like the start of the play behind your head trick.
The reason for Fragiles glove masks were already seen in this trailer, when the tar spurts out of the body they react to it and protect her face from coming in contact with it. Do rewatch
I will deduce something about the lack of cargo. In the first game it was said that when the Chiral network was settled, no more porters will be necessary cause logistics will be done through the chiral network. There's a tone of stuff that is just summoned up in thin air and eventually, the endgame starts not make sense anymore. BUT, in some point, fragile said that the plan is not to expand it's frontiers, like we did in the first game with "Be part of the UCA, and we will add you in the chiral network. Therefore, you wil enjoy all its perks.". Now, the comotion is to just add regions within the chiral network, like it happened with Mexico [idk]. Politically, it's the same as the internet. You will have your own governmental soberany, but will enjoy the internet and its perks. All countries have it. All the regions, the UCA and other countries, that participate in the chiral network will have logistics done through the network as promised in the first game. The other regions to be added in the chiral network will have, maybe, idk, negotiation agreements, or gifts. "I BRING THIS TOKEN OF TRUST TO YOU BE PART OF THE CHIRAL NETWORK.". If you noticed, the only time that a lot of cargo was shown was in the sandy desert environment. They said about Mexico. Other countries? I don't think that would be the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve in Colorado. Who knows...
Theres obviously more emphasis on combat in DS2, the armory alone proved this. However Kojima isn't doubling down on combat because people complained about the lack of combat in the previous game. The previous game, heavy combat literally makes 0 sense to the story. You are a delivery man, fighting the occasional ghost, which is easily killed with your blood, and weaponry using it. There is the occasional mule, but its rare. Where exactly does heavy combat fit in the story of the 1st game? The difference between the 1st and 2nd game is robots, the ability of robots to be used within network coverage, and the lack of need for porters due to robots. Obviously Higgs is building and distributing these robots across the world, which are combat capable. So now you need actual weaponry to fight robots, and potentially other people. I also find it disappointing that you believe Kojimas recent games have dialogue that is essentially gibberish, made up by Kojima on drugs. A lot of what Kojima talks about through his various games are grounded in reality, with a twist. Everything you might think is weird has a logical explanation in the world of the game, if you paid literally any attention at all. The trailer also makes it very clear this is not about deliveries. This whole game is all about connecting the world to the Chiral Network, and the merging of that knowledge with everyone else across the world. This game is about everywhere else outside of the US. Death stranding has a huge story with major story beats. The 1st game was the 1st beat, and the 2nd game is the 2nd beat. However without even playing the game, we can already kind of tell theres a 3rd beat, because the rule of 3 is pretty huge in movies and story telling. This game will be primarily about recovering the past, info that was lost, and reconnecting the world as a whole to that information. The following will be the repercussions of doing this probably. We constantly see "should we have connected". What I find interesting is that BT's are still around, despite the EE being gone / no longer affecting the world. So whats up with that? How is Higgs back? Has he become an EE, and why is he trying to look so similar to the previous EE. The story, and the explanations for everything are interesting, well thought out, and well explained when the info is important to the current moment in the story. Its just obvious that Kojima is using odd terms for things to avoid religious based backlash. Like calling the in between place from death to the after life a beach, not mentioning whats after the beach, and so on. In some cases that place could be called Purgatory, and in others a Limbo. BB's, BT's, Voidouts, Timefall, EE's, Chiralium, their not difficult to understand, and how they work makes sense.
There's a message in this trailer to konami. First, that ship looks like Metal Gear Rex from MGS1, also that Red Cyborg Ninja resembles to original Cyborg Ninja in MGS1. I think Kojima wants to show Konami who owns the legacy of MGS as they are going to release MGS3 Remake
Man after that silent 2 trailer Im dreading the MGS3 remake. I liked the graphics but hated the art direction it looks like every other Unreal engine 5 game using stock presets.
Different then the first game, this secont instalment will show a new tech that as it presented qill quite important for a few reasons. A kind of AI toys, or AI tools, with some level of consciousness. And it's shown through the stop motion figure and the hands. The stop motion probably will serve as a immersion builder, talking through the journey, giving and asking for new information, giving advices, and maybe will compose some gameplay mechanics. MAYBE, other toys/tools will be presented too with gamplay mechanics imbuded on them. Who knows...
Is it a coincidence that Troy Baker plays the guitar during TLOU2 and now he's rocking the guitar in DS2? I think Kojima was a massive TLOU fan and we should expect Troy to start singing during DS2.
The fact I saw George Miller here in the beginning just like Guillermo del Toro in DS1 is very cool. I like the connects Kojima is making with other great writers and directors in his games. It’s a brand
How can they implement more instances of lethal combat when the risk of killing was already heavily front loaded in the first game? Are voidouts no longer a thing with Amelie out of the picture? That doesn't make sense.
I’m giving death stranding another chance rn. I’m 15 hours in or something. I’m really enjoying it, the story hits and I’ve started really enjoying the gameplay.
I agree with a lot of your points. I love Death Stranding, adore it. It's in my top 5 games. It had a massive impact on me. But, they could really improve on the storytelling aspects, particularly the dialogue. It could be tightened up. There's not many memorable lines and way too much exposition. That said, I love the gameplay and the world it is in, and the world-building that you are tasked to do. Building a zip-line network was a thrill. I'm also a fan of the weird things that Kojima includes. He just has a certain type of weird that I'm down for, but I can imagine would be too much for others. DS2 looks very promising. I love that we are seeing different gameplay settings.
Yea if you analyze the first game a lot of these weird cues like the hands and the ink start to make sense. Still not sure about the shoulder doll but it will probably be an AI that wanted a physical appearance.
You clearly did not pay attention to.... honestly anything Kojima has made if you think he does stuff simply because it's "cool" then retroactively and hamfistedly tries to explain it. Like, do you even enjoy his games? You sound like someone who doesn't. I'll just go ahead and tap out at 6.5 minutes in because I really doubt you have anything to say beyond "Whoa. Weird. Cool."
From my personal view the only good thing about part 2 trailer is they let you see some gameplay not like part 1 which kojima teasing for years Which myself gets turn off by it
Hideo reads and watch movies a lot from there his ideas come and getting mixed in his mind :) . That hand mask is cool because in the game are sections where the character/player must be quite and hold youre breath (dont make a noise), so with it youre real hands are free to hold a gun or some tools. Acid Rain was in the first part too, so the builds where damaged and broke down, player had to rebuild them/fix them. This time Luke you failed to explain. :) A dragon cat uuhh. Looks like many dont recognise - but the ships captain old guy is GEORGE MILLER the film director of MAD MAX film franchise (and thats why Troy Baker is having a guitar with electric shots, because in Millers Mad Max was a gang moral buffer with a flamethrower guitar). Could it be that they will collaborate and work on Death Stranding movie?! Hmmm?! And by the way what is going on with METAL GEAR SOLID movie on which the King KONG movie director works? DS2 and other sony AAA games are the projects why we buy next gen consoles! Not f88n Minecraft, Fortnite or Among Us. P.S.-Am i the only one who thinks that the little doll guy looks like the writer Alan from Alan Wake 2 :D? No energy drinks - because they have enough money now Luke. :D In my opinion the delivery thing is not anymore so important because Chiral network was already established and america was connected in the first game. And now at the end they even ask in the trailer- was it the right thing to connect? Destroy it now hmm?!
Definitely not an acid trip or any other psychedelic where Kojima is getting his inspiration. This isn’t trippy. Probably closer to heroin or those dodgy drugs.
im interested in playing this, especially if it looks like they're gonna actually put combat more to the fore. But I will sure as hell be skipping the cut scenes. The first was absolutely nonsensical and this is even worse
I feel like Kojima just put random stuff in his games for marketing purposes this stuff all look so out of place for me it doesn't look cool at all it makes me less interested when i see just a bunch of random BS mixed together.
The only good thing about this game-movie is Norman Reedus. No offence ...but kojima seems like he was on really hardcore drugs when he was making that script!
I still cannot understand why anyone would think that Kojima is even a somewhat decent writer. The guys' work is filled with nonsensical plottwists, non existant character developement, laughably bad character names (Die Hardman, anyone?)and some of the worst dialougue in the history of art.
Why does there have to be more combat? The philosophy of the game is rope (bring people together) as opposed to stick ( fight people). This is literally the foundation of why Kojima made DS, and if you played the first one the rope theme is perfectly executed in both gameplay and story. Not every game has to be kill everything on screen every 5 seconds. If you can't wrap your head around a (AAA) game where you don't kill everything on screen every 5 seconds, then sorry this franchise just isn't for you and that's perfectly fine. Now go give it a try again using everything I've said as basis for your expectations lol. It's really one of a kind experience
@sheriffyusuf3732 because without combat, the game is incredibly boring . Did you really need someome to explain that? Maybe you try to immortalize kojima that you accept random crap as innovation? Or you didn't understand how repetitive the first game was ?
@sheriffyusuf3732 i hope you spotted a simpleton in the mirror . Easily impressed . Walking around doing the same.thing over and over qualifies innovation? Lol . Get real ! Lol
I think Death Stranding was the most memorable gaming experience I have had in a long time. It was way more than just a walking simulator, and I found it more engaging then most action games. Even when just walking around I had to be fully engaged with every step and try to have every step and path planned out. The gameplay loop had me addicted. same, easily one of my fav games. Played through it twice, platinumed it on PS5.
Kojima be waking up from dreams being like “Hell yeah, gotta write that down”
Post-covid must hit different in this game. I was isolated for medical reasons when Death Stranding launched and it felt so special, I really hope they improve on variety in bases and shelters, there is so much to be done
Death Stranding may not be the best game i've played, but it was one of the most powerful experiences I had with media overall
I hope were gonna get a jump in gameplay refinements and improvements in DS2. Similar to the jump between MGS1 and MGS2.
Love him or hate him, his trailers will always draw you in because they are uniquely Kojima. No matter if you watching to make fun of his craziness or applaud him for going against the grain, his trailer stands out because you will never see it anywhere else lol
Seriously, who is kojimas plug?
Gamepass is no.1 not xbox
It’s me bruh I got that loud pack lmk
Snoop Dogg
Kojimbo been cookin with this one
Genius kojumbo
Kojamba Juice really put all his juice into this one
Cookin. Lmao, so corny
Kojima is the one guy in the game industry who clearly wants to be a film director who I can actually somewhat respect.
*sad Sam Lake noises*
Brother the guy straight up said movie are too limited and the guy has so much of a good resume he being loved by all the big name actor and producer of the modern era. The guy is known to never do a game twice the same he always reach for perfection. THE MAN IS THE GOAT OF GAMING
Kojima lives in a DMT fever dream.
Your said that the glove mask does not have a function and I beg to differ. There is the ‚hold your breath‘ mechanic in the first game. I immediately thought about that and now they have found a way to automate it for better protection. Wouldn’t t you agree?
That actually makes so much sense, to be able to use your hands while holding your breath!
Interesting. Didnt think about that.
@@PhawnixAndJewel 💯💯
yeah this makes sense, idk why he was so married to the idea it made no sense before the game even came out and ofc there would be a explanation then. this makes perfect sense for the world
Kojima's brain needs to be studied.
Imagine not understanding symbolism and allegory like in you know poetics and literature at large... 😢
12:16 pretty sure thats just a reference to their last encounter, where it was "rope vs stick, gun vs strand"(his words).. Death Stranding's genre should be called Psy-Fi (Psychidelic Science-Fiction).
they lost the monster energy drink liceence, it wasn't in the directors cut either...
Thank god
Bro it’s just symbolism, he didn’t think wouldn’t a baby be weird, it’s cuz the game is about that paternal instinct, that’s why his ideas are so foreign to ppl he’s going symbolism over practical.

13:20 this part makes me think that we may see other people using different musical instrument as weapons.
I will deduce something about the lack of cargo. 11:34 have u played mgs 4? with the 1 hour cutscenes
My thoughts exactly.. that game had like 5 hours of gameplay n 10 hours of cutscenes lol

I thought her being that shade, was a call back to Lea Seydoux's movie...Blue Is The Warmest Colour.
With the amount of hands "Death Stranding" has, it's AI proof.
My favorite part is seeing all the different environments. Having an actual desert would be a good excuse for a dune buggy.
The black cat with wings is probably a nod to that one title "the last guardian"
I love the fact we now have the director if Mad Max in the game.
Can we please call the puppet Alan from here on out? I mean he looks so similar to Alan Wake hahaha.
the stuff in the trailer looks a lot like the concept material from the Death Stranding art book, I'm super excited to play this.
Different then the first game, this secont instalment will show a new tech that as it presented qill quite important for a few reasons. i absolutely loved DS1 and even came to terms that you have to kill monsters with pee bullets and poo granades
The hands on Fragile is a symbol of chirality btw, search it up
I heard watching the Death Stranding 2 trailer ten times causes you to go insane.
Where am I?
i couldnt helped to be amazed and surprised by the new higgs ... i was like what ... the new robots .... the momy revived
Kojima with Guerrilla tech is a deadly alliance
For a moment, I thought the little puppet guy on a string looked a bit like Seneca Crane from The Hunger Games. 🤨
Is it a coincidence that Troy Baker plays the guitar during TLOU2 and now he's rocking the guitar in DS2? I think Kojima was a massive TLOU fan and we should expect Troy to start singing during DS2.
Stupid analysis
I would even say that Death stranding is more of a digital experience rather than a game
Luke really knows how to ruin a party. Wheres the line betwern skepticism and cynicism
This ain’t no deep dive. It’s a shallow tip toe. You obviously arnt familiar with the lore at all lmao
The fact I saw George Miller here in the beginning just like Guillermo del Toro in DS1 is very cool. I like the connects Kojima is making with other great writers and directors in his games. It’s a brand
Yeah i agree, it s not a death stranding game without the high resolution monster energy drink.
You can criticize the hands all you want, but BB? BB made perfect sense. It was actually super clever.
i really dont get him sometimes? like hands dude? lol
How can they implement more instances of lethal combat when the risk of killing was already heavily front loaded in the first game? Are voidouts no longer a thing with Amelie out of the picture? That doesn't make sense.
Mexico and the border lol.
Sam can you close the network shut down the border SAM !!!
I'd love to see other countries besides Mexico. Maybe at some point, we go to Japan.
I’m giving death stranding another chance rn. I’m 15 hours in or something. I’m really enjoying it, the story hits and I’ve started really enjoying the gameplay.

End game reward is probably that guitar 😆😁👌
How many playable characters
Dude, if they contracted Bang Energy for this game, I'd buy on that alone. Bang is so good.
This is better sci-fi than the Avatar & Dune movies imo
Yea if you analyze the first game a lot of these weird cues like the hands and the ink start to make sense. Still not sure about the shoulder doll but it will probably be an AI that wanted a physical appearance.
I want that Kojima OG
Luke hasn’t played Metal Gear Solid 4.😂
Imagine a collab with kojima and David Lynch
You clearly did not pay attention to.... honestly anything Kojima has made if you think he does stuff simply because it's "cool" then retroactively and hamfistedly tries to explain it. From my personal view the only good thing about part 2 trailer is they let you see some gameplay not like part 1 which kojima teasing for years
Which myself gets turn off by it
Honestly I couldn’t tell what the tone of this game is, it’s incredibly wacky and even more so than the first game.
Kojima is on crack even more than when he made the first game 😂( but I love it)
This isn’t a deep dive lol
death stranding is very much not boring, bad take
Hideo reads and watch movies a lot from there his ideas come and getting mixed in his mind :) . How about the female saying her name is fragile…. To me that seemed like a call back to MGS.
Psycho Biological Military Horror.
kojima is taking the stuff from limit less
You seem a bit more pessimistic when it comes to kojima despite some valid points you mention. I agree with the person in chat
I beat DS and i still dont get why they are blue
Lacking oxygen in their bodies.
Edit: (their technically dead rn)
🤪 “ur qwuetht is that wayyy”
The first game had more interesting trailers. But now with the benefit of knowing what the game is like I know I do not want to play it.
Is that a puppet?
This is not a deep dive its just you having a natter. This didbt need to be a seperate video you havent broken down anything.
Here the kojima fan boys come. I mean his games are great…. But damn
????
why? Kojima, that’s why. ❤
Kojima has become the Quentin Tarantino of video games
More like James Cameron
I see him more as Tommy Wiseau...@@65firered
people make fun of starfield but get excited for this goofy shit
This was probably the worst thing i've ever seen in gaming. Its almost like an April fools joke trailer before the real trailer comes on....
🤣🤣
Wow, this plaigarizer is still getting views?
He's a strange guy, his games don't really appeal to me, but people seem to love his stuff for some reason.
I still cannot understand why anyone would think that Kojima is even a somewhat decent writer. The guys' work is filled with nonsensical plottwists, non existant character developement, laughably bad character names (Die Hardman, anyone?)and some of the worst dialougue in the history of art.
i never understood what is funny about this game
weird doesn't mean good lol
True but real creativity/originality is respectable to me personally, and makes me more likely to give it a chance, execution matters greatly though
In this case it does
Yes but when it comes to kojima it’s different because he’s proven himself way too many times.
I’ve thought about giving the first game a second chance. This trailer has me interested, I just hope there’s more combat.
Why does there have to be more combat? The philosophy of the game is rope (bring people together) as opposed to stick ( fight people). This is literally the foundation of why Kojima made DS, and if you played the first one the rope theme is perfectly executed in both gameplay and story.
