Me and my fiancè applied in June 12, 2024 and received an email on July 3, 2024 to schedule an interview. So quick! 3 weeks turnaround! Will be going on August 8, 2024 at the border for the land border interview.
That is really quick! Good for you:) it looks like they have finally managed to get through the Covid backlog and are now processing applications in a timely manner. Make sure to bring all your required documents with you. And let us know how the interview goes;)
Hi, I'm a Canadian PR, and I've lived here for 2 years 11 months and 5 days. Is it advisable to put in an application now or just wait till after it completes 3 years?
@@natashtepa not yet, booked at an airport but then realized it was just the Canadian interview and I'd require a second with the Americans, so cancelled and will rebook at a land border shortly.
Hi my family of 3 including my son who is 15 years old have a Nexus interview coming up. We are Canadian passport holders. What documents should I carry. Is the interview first in the Canadian side and then we have to cross the border for the US interview? Please guide? As in the application document it says first go to Canadian side and then US side. The centre being Fort Erie.
Hi there. If you are doing a land border interview, it’s all going to be in one place. For documents, make sure to take your passports and another ID. Passport will also serve as your proof of citizenship, so no need for additional citizenship document. You’ll also need proof of your residency, like drivers license. You may also check Nexus official site in case you need to bring any additional documents. Good luck with the interview, and let us know how it goes;)
Legally you’re eligible to apply, it would be your purpose for this card? It mostly makes sense for people who frequently travel between Canada and USA
@natashtepa i intend to go to the usa and travel the states, but dont want to go through the excessive dull security process everytime, I wanna be treated like a normal human lol
@@izziiebabeeif you’re mostly thinking of benefits for US specific travels, you could still use Nexus program. Just make sure you’ll be available for an interview, which needs to be scheduled in one of the enrolment center. Which means your first trip to USA would still be through a regular line. Are you planning to apply this year?
@@izziiebabeeit is a possibility. I would assume they will determine your eligibility when you submit your online application, way before you do the interview. By the way, the application fee will increase in October, so if you’re considering to apply, I suggest you do it before October 1st
My partner and infant kid (both canadian citizens) received an email for an interview; however, there are no slots available for the next 3 months across the two Canadian land enrollment centers. So, choosing a US enrollment center. How do we manage the US enrollment center for the Canadian officers to interview us? Do we just meet the US border agents at the enrollment center (if we get to book our appointments) for the interview? How do we then meet the Canadian border agents to complete the process of the interview? On our way back from the US or later so our application be completed?
Hi there. If you are going through a US land border crossing enrolment centre, they have combined interviews. So you would only have to go to one location, same as we did for our interview. You can also double check and call the specific enrolment centre you sign up for. Do you already know where you will be taking your interview?
It depends on the enrolment center. If it’s in the airport, you’d need to do two separate interviews (US and Canadian). Whereas land border crossing have enrolment centers that can conduct both interviews at the same time
Yes, each family member need to have their own separate application. But you can try to arrange interviews at the same time once you get approved - that’s how we did it and it allowed to save time and money on the trip to enrolment Center:)
The renewal was much quicker for me. I filed my renewal for a day then a day after I found a slot for an interview. They ask if my address was updated and whatever then they approve. It's so quick I just got my card two weeks from now. 😁😁😁
That sound like a smooth process! Assuming they already had your background information from the initial application. Did you have to give your fingerprints again during interview?
Yea, they are definitely still dealing with backlog after civid and the fact that Canadian enrolment centres haven’t been reopened yet. Are you still waiting for an interview invitation? What does your application status say?
