#33 - My favorite Cowboy of all time. He was so electric, quick, and flowed across the field with tremendous vision. TD was a scoring threat from anywhere on the field!
Tony Dorsett! Prettiest running back I ever saw! The man could fly! Growing up in the late 70’s in Texas, every kid wanted to be either Tony Dorsett or Roger Staubach. The Dallas Cowboys was like religion back then. I met Tony many years later when I was working at KWES-TV, NewsWest 9 in Midland, Texas (1996 ish). I saw him in the hallway one day and that made my year. He was super nice and still looked like he could run 100 yards at a dead sprint. Made the little kid in me remember watching my hero on TV. Why can’t sports still be that way today?
His speed was mesmerizing, he found the openings with ease. Refused to be denied. He looked Faster than everyone else on the field offense and defense. They used him a lot in the passing game. Now package this video and Emmitt's highlights and send them to Moore, Mccarthy and Zeke.
What a super athlete...he had so much class and super fast. Loved to watch him kick in the speed and just leave the opposition behind. Miss watching him play...
Unbelievable how many touchdowns he scored without being tackled. If he had played 15 years later in the age of the one back system he would have 20,000 yards. Hardest running North/South running back under 200 pounds in history. Tough as nails. My favorite running back of all time.
Tony Dorsett was so fast it was crazy. He was at top speed with just two steps. If Landry would have split him out wide a lot more as a receiver they would have won a lot more games because there was not a corner in the league that could match his speed.
the greatest Cowboys running back of all time Tony D. You held your breathe every time he got ball, because he could score at minute from anywhere on the field
My favorite player growing up. I loved his spin move just before he makes contact with the defensive player, spins off them and changes direction. Defensive player falls over.
Like a thoroughbred, Tony had the nicest stride, great breakaway speed, hands & best at squaring his shoulders in through the line of scrimmage. After that, defenses were never going to catch him. Thank you for this montage of fond memories. #33.
Tony Dorsett is my favorite all-time favorite RB and football player.he bursts through holes without wasted movement and the haul ass showcasing all of that speed.
Never really seen a big highlights clip of Dorsett. Thanks for posting. This is a really great watch. He’s so, so smooth and for a relatively small guy, it’s impressive that he was not afraid to stick his head in the trenches. There are two things that really strike me watching it, though. Firstly, I can’t believe how fast he is. It’s that easy kind of speed where he doesn’t look like he’s really trying. Secondly, Darrell Green must have been RIDICULOUSLY fast…
Thank you so much for doing this. I know this must have taken a lot of time and effort. I was eight years old when TD was a rookie, and some of my fondest moments of that season and the next seven or so seasons are all here. God bless you.
Tony Dorsett was blessed by God..... with STUPID speed..He didn't need to juke or shake you..He could flat out fly... And his running style....was built for speed.. Drug of choice...SPEED.. Favorite saying...SPEED kills.. Advantages...Human cheat code.. Favorite move...reach under his jersey and press the Blur button 🔘.. 😆😂😆..Printing on the front of his jersey said ( HELLO) back of his jersey said ( GOOD BYE)... Going and Coming at the same time....
At 12:39 I still can't figure out how he made that tackler miss when he had just taken the hand-off, and those corners had the angel from both sides and he still out ran them??????
Great job I'm putting this video together I would be willing to bet you could ask the commentators do you like most enjoyed watching and calling games and it'd be the Dallas Cowboys and Tony Dorsett you could hear it in their voices they get excited watching him like the rest of us I guess you're the man Tony🙏
The documented record and this video proves beyond ALL doubt that Tony Dorsett was the most explosive back in NFL history. Dorsett is the ONLY running back in NFL history to have touchdown runs of 90 yards, 80 yards, 70 yards, 60 yards, and 50 yards. Dorsett also had touchdown catches of 90 yards, 80 yards, 60 yards, and 50 yards.
The greatest Cowboy in my mind. The whole reason I am a Cowboy fan is because of him. The greatest college football player of all time. Where ever he got drafted was going to be my team for life. Lord I’m glad I’m a COWBOY FAN. THANK YOU FOR THE PLEASURE TO WATCH THE GIFT YIU GAVE THE FOOTBALL WORLD.
Watching Tony Dorsett run with the football was poetry in motion. If only he would have ever learned how to take a handoff he would have been even more dangerous.
Liked to see him when he was at the U of Pittsburgh awesome, I seen some high school players like him here in Texas but never see them at the NFL amazing
It was sweet that his initials were TD as in Touchdown but if his initials were SB they would stand for SONIC BOOM! So if there was ever a loud boom in the stadium when the Cowboys played that was just Dorsett breaking the sound barrier 💥! As a matter of fact if Dorsett was a car parked next to a Corvette, I'd rather drive the Dorsett.............hummm a Chevy Dorsett! Great acceleration, good braking, handles corners, 0-60 in 1.5 seconds, great top end speed, longevity I'm sold!
Best Cowboys running back I ever saw play was Tony Dorsett, I was born 1962 became a fan 1968 my step father rooted for the packers being all the lumps I took being a step-son I chose the Cowboys soon as I truly understood the game Dorsett was the most feared we ever had at running back positions any play running or receiving could go the distance and boy did he 99 yard run 90 yard receiving touchdowns he could do it all only thing I seen emit was block better but I take Tony Dorsett my lead back aby day .thanks for the thrills T.D😂😂😂😂
TD... what a fabulous, effective and exciting runner... just under 180 lbs and very seldom over 25 carries per game... Tom Landry really took care of Tony's body and career by not over using him, and the injury bug respected him, hence his stats... had he had more carries per game, probably his stats would've been even more impressive, or maybe he wouldn't been as durable... thanks TD!

@@williamivery212 You got that right, and it's not going to get better, lol, I live in Phoenix, so we didn't have a football, Baseball or Basketball team, so when I was 7 years old, my favorite teams were the teams they showed on TV all the time. The Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Lakers and the Cincinnati Reds. The only team that is still my favorite are the Cowboys, I follow the Suns and Diamondbacks, but also follow The Arizona Cardinals. The NFL gave the Cowboys exposure and that is why they are Americas team. Like you said, they were on TV every week.
Sure miss those days of yesteryears! Thanks TD, Roger for all the wonderful memories.
Tony D one of quickest. Running backs of all time once he hit that whole he takes off like a bullet and was a good receiver as we'll,
Tony D...I still to this date remember Monday Night Football on couch with my dad and Dorsett took off for 99 yards verse the Vikings. Awesome!!! To me these were the days...
Awesome memory to have 👍. Cowboys only had 10 players on the field, makes it even more impressive.
My husband tells the story all the time about how when he was a kid watching that game and Howard Cosell saying you can't run on this Viking defense about the time Roger Staubach handed the ball to Tony Dorsett and 99 an a half yards later Tony Dorsett was in the end zone. What a Beautiful run that was and Cosell shut up!
thank you for this !!!! this brought back SO MANY GREAT MEMORIES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No problem. Glad you enjoyed it 👍.
The greatest home run back ever. Have there been faster RB’s? In forty years I have never seen one . Track times are track times. Pads on firing through the line TD was into the back like no other. And Dallas fans think Zeke is great. Oh boy !!
TD was my favorite running back of all times.. Until I found out that he could reach under his jersey and hit the Blur button... 😂
And so many times he was on cruise control after busting thru the line. His acceleration was just tremendous.
Well, OJ, Eric Dickerson, and Hershel Walker were faster RBs. But TD is still one of the greatest.
@@lwmson OJ was not faster than Tony Dorsett and Dickerson was only 3 tenths of a second faster witch puts them almost dead even in which Dorsett was quicker
@@anthonydavis2190 I remember when TD ran a 9.5 int he 100 yd dash to win the Superstar competition, when the Juice ran it in 1974, he did a 9.4.
Tony Dorsett, The Man, the Myth and the Legend for life.
It's amazing how many of these runs people barely could lay a hand oh him. This man was a flash in pads. Great video thanks for uploading!
No problem, thanks for watching 👍.
I was blown away watching Dorsett in college at Pittsburgh WoW he was truly Amazing and Highly gifted running back.
From old school So CA football fan. The Dallas Cowboys with Tony in the backfield; what can I say but inspiring to even casual fans. I loved Tony and those Cowboys. I think of the Troy Aikman teams with the same admiration; real classics.
T.D. The original. Every run makes me smile. Thanks DC 4life.🤠
No problem 👍, thanks for watching 🙏.
Favorite Cowboy of all time!! Once he saw an opening it was good night baby!!
What a long beautiful highlight reel. Fun to watch the special ones work.
Thanks 👍.
I've been a Cowboys fan for 45 years, win or lose, there has never been a better backfield team than #33 and #44 , both football Greats
#33 Tony Dorsett
One of the Greatest Cowboys of All Time!
One of my childhood heroes.
This just makes me feel happy.
Thanks so much for the time & love to share this.
My favorite player growing up. I loved his spin move just before he makes contact with the defensive player, spins off them and changes direction. Defensive player falls over.
That bring me many memories watching the great running backs of the 70 and 80 . Tony Dorsett was my favorite one. What a great runner.
Like a thoroughbred, Tony had the nicest stride, great breakaway speed, hands & best at squaring his shoulders in through the line of scrimmage. After that, defenses were never going to catch him. Thank you for this montage of fond memories. #33.
He was awesome...The very best Cowboy #33 Legend
Tony Dorsett is my favorite all-time favorite RB and football player.he bursts through holes without wasted movement and the haul ass showcasing all of that speed.
My entire childhood placed in front of me like a family photo album. Thanks man.
TD had it all, quickness, top line speed, and great vision.
Possibly the greatest running back to ever play the game
That was great! Thanks for putting that together. TD #33 was my childhood idol. Total legend!
Glad you enjoyed the video 🙏, he’s one of the best to ever do it.
I loved watching Dorsett run
Thank you so much for doing this. I know this must have taken a lot of time and effort. I was eight years old when TD was a rookie, and some of my fondest moments of that season and the next seven or so seasons are all here. God bless you.
Thank you. My favorite player EVER!! #33!! I miss watching him!
I always loved Tony Dorsett he was an exciting runner with great speed. Thanks for the video it was great to watch him in all his greatness again.
It's so true. Tony didn't need to make "moves" most of the time. He would just bait people into taking one wrong step and he had them.
At 12:39 I still can't figure out how he made that tackler miss when he had just taken the hand-off, and those corners had the angel from both sides and he still out ran them??????
My favorite football player of all time! The great almighty Tony Dorsett! 99 1/2 yards baby!!!!!! GO COWBOYS!!!!!!
Born in 1970 and lived only in New England and Florida I’m a life long a Cowboy fan because of TD Roger Staubach Drew Pearson and Randy White
That’s awesome 👍. Those guys were great.
Born in 68 outside of cleveland and what you said is why im a Cowboy fan to this day.And only been a Cowboy fan.
So was Belicheck. Maybe the biggest Roger Staubach fan of ALL time.
God bless Tony Dorsett. 10/30/21
I still watch old football games from the 70s. And 90s, just to bring memories back. Tony Dorset was such a great runner and so was Emmett Smith.
Barry and all the other running backs may have had more yards, but there is no way in hell they were better running backs then Tony Dorsett.
If Sanders hit the holes like Tony, Barry would easily have 20,000 yards for his career
@@howardcosell2022 Barry didn't have holes to hit.
Thanks for posting this. Greatest 2 TD's in Cowboys history were against Vikings. TD's 99+ and Pearson's Hail Mary.
No problem David 👍, and those were great moments for sure.
This video deserves more views. He's still the prettiest running back ever.
Thanks 👍.
When he touched the 🏈 spotlight was his 🏆🎖️🏆
I love Tony Dorsett, Watching him way back then made me a Cowboys fan FOR LIFE!!
TD was fearless. If Barry Sanders hit the holes like Dorsett, Sanders would have 20k yards easily
TD would’ve had another 90 yd plus touchdown...If not for Daryl Green...🏈
@@kirkindog No it would've been only an 80+ yard touchdown......lol
The greatest Cowboy in my mind. The whole reason I am a Cowboy fan is because of him. The greatest college football player of all time. Where ever he got drafted was going to be my team for life. Lord I’m glad I’m a COWBOY FAN. THANK YOU FOR THE PLEASURE TO WATCH THE GIFT YIU GAVE THE FOOTBALL WORLD.
Watching Tony Dorsett run with the football was poetry in motion. If only he would have ever learned how to take a handoff he would have been even more dangerous.
I am Raiders fan. However, I loved Tony Dorsett at Pitt. Even though I could not stand Dallas, he was the primary reason I watched Cowboy games.
Wow. That was awesome and brought back sooooo many memories. Thanks!
My idol growing up... I wanted to be just like him. The Best!!!
Liked to see him when he was at the U of Pittsburgh awesome, I seen some high school players like him here in Texas but never see them at the NFL amazing
Thank you for the memories!!!
That man is poetry in motion. Truly awesome in the way that he moves.
Wow t.d. never thought. U is a genius. And the dorsett car was a good one to
Best Cowboys running back I ever saw play was Tony Dorsett, I was born 1962 became a fan 1968 my step father rooted for the packers being all the lumps I took being a step-son I chose the Cowboys soon as I truly understood the game Dorsett was the most feared we ever had at running back positions any play running or receiving could go the distance and boy did he 99 yard run 90 yard receiving touchdowns he could do it all only thing I seen emit was block better but I take Tony Dorsett my lead back aby day .thanks for the thrills T.D😂😂😂😂
Like getting an early Christmas gift, watching him run is just so friggin' cool!
Thanks for sharing this.
Celticsaint777 No problem, thanks for watching 👍.
I like all of Tony's touchdowns in blue jerseys
Michael Leroy Same, I like those old jerseys.
one of the greatest
TD... what a fabulous, effective and exciting runner... just under 180 lbs and very seldom over 25 carries per game... Tom Landry really took care of Tony's body and career by not over using him, and the injury bug respected him, hence his stats... had he had more carries per game, probably his stats would've been even more impressive, or maybe he wouldn't been as durable... thanks TD!
My favorite runningback
Vin Scully in that game with the Cardinals called him " Anthony Dorsett" which was his son's name who played in the NFL
Actually “Anthony” is Tony Dorsett’s real name. They just called him “Tony” for short...🏈
