For me it failed. Concept of the Quantum cat is interesting, but it was taken to an extreme in the tv series. I just couldn't keep up with all the minutia, especially when they were trying to create hidden mystery easter eggs for the next season. So you always had the feeling of a fever dream.
Okay so.... There are two realities. One where the woman in space survived, but the man did not. One where the man in space survived but the woman did not. The two survivors switched their realities and somehow are able to communicate with glimpses of the other reality due to the experiment that ONLY happened in one reality. The experiment originated in the reality of the surviving man. They took... Lithium-7? The woman in the Lithium-7 reality had been cheating on her husband and her daughter did not speak Swedish (again, this version died in space). The woman from the other reality did NOT cheat on her husband and her daughter did speak Swedish (this version did not die, but was transferred to Lithium-7 reality, thus appeared dead in her original reality). TLDR space team swapped realities while in space and now funky reality-merging things are happening. I think this is what is happening??
Yes, that is EXACTLY what's happening. They confuse and annoy people with that "Schrodinger's cat" argument, which is a ridiculous argument, because "both alive and dead" is NOT a realistic option for one cat, AND reality doesn't care about whether or not it's being observed (ugh, the arrogance!)! In this movie's case, realities (plural) don't care about whether or not they're being observed - in fact, they both exist at the same time despite the fact that they ARE being observed. Nobody is "both alive and dead" - it's just that one reality's version is alive and the other one is dead, and the living people accidentally ended up in each other's realities (aka each other's parallel universes?). Also YES, because of an experiment in ONE reality, these two realities are able to intersect and/or partially interact. PS: I think the living female Russian cosmonaut was actually the first to switch realities with her dead version, but that was left unresolved...

This show was actually very good, it was supposed to be confusing, because that's how the main character was feeling all the time. She was torn and all over the place, that's how the story was designed. Does anyone here really believe, they are so much smarter than the people working in the industry for decades!? They knew what they were doing, but the audience these days has the attention span and intellect of a rock ... go watch your sitcoms and stop criticizing stuff your brain is obviously not equipped to understand.
I like the concept and the storyline but one possible loophole in this could be the Russian cosmonaut who was sent to space and was actually supposed to be dead in reality 2 but continues to be alive and exist in both the realities. Presumably, pointing out that same experiment was carried in 1960s in reality 2 as she seems more aware of what's been happening with Jo. Still I cannot understand how three Irena's are present in two realities, even if I take into account that the dead cosmonaut might have been a glitch.
15:22 "And then things get confusing, so friends forgive me if something is unclear" I'm happy for the headsup buddy, but I was already confused like 1 min into the video...
Sounds a lot like Quantum jumping, quantum immortality, etc. Not like the tv series quantum leap, but it's the idea that there are parallel universes and sometimes versions of the same person get swapped between universes so they get stuck in each other's alternate lives.
Exacly! The topic interesting but it is narrated like a bedtime story like is read from a book an is confusing and boring to be listening to such an endless story. It is a science fiction story that's better as a tv soap

I liked this Film series and great story....
But Yes VERY CONDRIVED AND HARD TO UNDERSTAND
I like the concept and the storyline but one possible loophole in this could be the Russian cosmonaut who was sent to space and was actually supposed to be dead in reality 2 but continues to be alive and exist in both the realities. Presumably, pointing out that same experiment was carried in 1960s in reality 2 as she seems more aware of what's been happening with Jo. Still I cannot understand how three Irena's are present in two realities, even if I take into account that the dead cosmonaut might have been a glitch.
They did the big brain move of making the actress play a Swede unlike what they did in Prometheus.
11:07 There was no Apollo 18. That should have been a big clue, for someone who was an astronaut especially.
fascinating!!!
15:22 "And then things get confusing, so friends forgive me if something is unclear" I'm happy for the headsup buddy, but I was already confused like 1 min into the video...
Mike airmantrout ~ oooooh ya .. WERE BONED!
you know when they say its been a pleasure ... IT HASNT !
Halfway through this video I was thoroughly confused and lost.
Sounds a lot like Quantum jumping, quantum immortality, etc. Not like the tv series quantum leap, but it's the idea that there are parallel universes and sometimes versions of the same person get swapped between universes so they get stuck in each other's alternate lives.
So convoluted. But hey, thanks.
I loved this show!!!
@bzh7648
Yes, that's true, but hopefully, we get season 2 to tie loose ends .
Mommy! ... No, no, thats a real mummy 😅
Why do studios insist on taking a movie script and padding it out to make an entire series which just slowly plods along seemingly endlessly?
Exacly! The topic interesting but it is narrated like a bedtime story like is read from a book an is confusing and boring to be listening to such an endless story. It is a science fiction story that's better as a tv soap
