I think this guy is one of the best in the world right now. Yet music has gone down the drain so much that only a small fraction of the world have actually heard of him.
his tone and his phrasing makes wanna cry man. this guy is in charge of carrying the torch of the blues nowadays. the old blues master players would be so proud of him
Matt Schofield is one of my favorite British blues guitar players of all time, he is up there at the top of the table together with Peter Green, Eric Clapton and Mick Taylor... I have every single CDs he has ever put on the market, great, great stuff!
All the "good guys" are rolled up ball of everybody people listen to and then somewhere in the middle of things , it seems they walk away with a little bit of their own style in every note they play. Matt's a very fan friendly guy and always meets and greets after the shows, a very sincere Kat.
I like how much swagger he's got in this one. The extreme guitar faces, too. Funny how the video editor doesn't linger too long on them when he starts giving Joe Cocker a run for his money. Matt absolutely kills it here.
Yes his sound is soulful I like the way he mix the scales and chords into jazzy blues mix certainly he’s what I listen too the best he also has lessons on the tube
I have to admit it's always tough for me to get into the guitar virtuoso blues players after growing up on Muddy, T-Bone, Howlin' Wolf.......... It's not fair to compare but all the guitar licks in the world can't replace the voice. In my opinion still fantastic playing though true to the art form. He doesn't sound like a metal rocker bending out some blues he just sounds like a really really polished version of the original cats. Kudos.
Great performance. You can't reinvent the wheel, but playing blues like this is so difficult, takes a lot of practice to build up these skills, great player.
For the people who are just discovering Matt schofield i say, good find, you're on to a winner!!

It is such a pleasure to hear guitar playing on this level
Albert would be honored!
which one, King, Collins, or Lee? Hes got them all
Bryan Dunn That's Albert Collins; much more than King or Lee. Matt has mentioned Collins in several interviews as shaping his sound from early on.

Just stumbled on this guy. He's amazing. Warren Haynes brought him up in an interview.
All The Space between notes.....throws this great tune into orbit... Every member is smoking Hot..
I could listen to this guy all day.
I hear A LOT of Albert Collins in his playing.
Great playing with many Albert Collins references. I like the way the solo is slowly build up from quiet to a frenzy.
Unbelievable talent! I'm hearing a lot of the blues greats in this guy. Like SRV, Clapton and the the three kings (BB, Albert & Freddie). Wow....

Blistering solo !!!!!! seamless and just one with the band,,,

5:50 ALBERT is smiling.......... This version should be on a Live Release..........
splendida melodie lights are
Matt is great far better than Bonamassa, I Think he´s up there with Robben Ford, SRV and so on!
+Björn Ekblom SRV? Hmmmmmn....that's a big call I reckon.
2 totally different styles of players. Both are great in what they do.
Like Robben, Matt is a far superior player with real talent and feel. Bonamassa and SRV are/were posers not qualified to carry his guitar cases!
@@johnbergen9663 And youre a Fn Dumbass.
Matt is far more creative and better than that copycat overrated low talent poser Bonamassa. The comparison to Robben Ford I will agree with.
Look at the rate. There is no fucking dislike. This man is unique.
Great playing!

Great performance. You can't reinvent the wheel, but playing blues like this is so difficult, takes a lot of practice to build up these skills, great player.
