- Here's the second entry in my Obscure Video Game Music series: the title theme from "Wheel of Fortune: Family Edition" for NES, composed by David Wise.
Yes, that is indeed the same guy who did the Donkey Kong Country soundtrack. Now the style seems familiar, right? :)
So why's this one obscure? Everyone I knew who had Wheel of Fortune for NES had the original 1988 release of the game, which featured a rendition of Merv Griffin's classic "Changing Keys" theme on its title screen-- so there was no real point in buying the Family Edition. But it turns out we missed a really cool original tune by skipping out on it. Who knew? - Видеоклипы
I think the reason behind it, was that rare couldn't get the liscense for the "Changing keys" theme so they had to make an original tune. And thank god it was David Wise who composed it, he went on to compose most of the music from the Donkey Kong Country games on SNES.
That digital yell in unison is what awaits us all in Hell
I Love this theme.
That is NOTHING like Changing Keys!
Can't believe Vanna White is still cohosting that show. I mean we even saw her *pregnant* in that show. Time flies by.
KNEW it was David Wise. From Diddy Kong Racing he obviously knows how to write super catchy video game music
Yeah, I always wondered why this was very different from the Changing Keys theme, but I eventually learned to like it. For some reason, and this is just me, it seems to go along with the show a bit.
Do you know how to spell incunabulum?
Are you alive
@@LavaCreeperPeople yeah, they just uploaded a video last month
@@noopthenoop ok
Also, the first 3 games never address the hostess as Vanna white. the Original manual for the first game in 1987 even says "Each correct guess sends our beautiful blonde hostess to the board to turn over your letters." So rare and gametek didn't get the rights to Vanna's image either.
So that explains why she looks so wild in the NES versions of this game
David Wise is kind of the man! :D
Rare really could do no wrong on the NES.
I am guessing since there were already two Wheel titles out for the NES (original and Junior editions) which used the "Changing Keys" theme, why not try something different?
Rarely.

What's up with the demonic message at the start...
It's supposed to be "wheel of fortune", but unfortunately it seems that the quality of the sample isn't too great.
I guess the old theme was too mainstream
