Thanks a Million for your easy to follow instructions!! I let all my salt drain out of machine because I thought that was how to clean it.😮 now I know where the brine box is for cleaning. I did shut off my machine so I am hopeful I didnt ruin it. I am female & your video was the BEST....Finally I can finish this project 😂
Thanks, my brother has a water softener like yours and I couldn’t figure out how to do maintenance... keep up the good work, greetings from Wisconsin US
NO, Just No.... These are bad instructions and don't match what the bottle instructions state. I have a similar softener, but what you are calling a brine tank is just a strainer tube that allows salinated water to flow through without the salt water getting in there but there is a hole drilled in the bottom so if you pour it in there it will just flow in to the salt hopper. Furthermore the instructions specifically state to wait until the salt is completely empty so all you did was just soak your salt in the cleaner and risk poisoning your water supply as it is now embedded in the salt and every time you run your softener's recharge cycle you are now introducing that cleaner back in to your softener grains.
per morton website Instructions for use: Pour entire bottle (16 oz.) of Morton Water Softener Cleanser directly into the brine well. If your softener has no brine well, pour Morton Water Softener Cleanser directly into the salt tank when the salt is low. Immediately manually regenerate the softener (press and hold the recharge button). Full directions available on the back of the cleanser bottle.... the brine well is exactly what he poured into on the video. Morton has the exploded view and the brinewell is the cylinder with the salt levels marked off. I'm going to try this on my M34!!
Such a simple task, and yet Morton has insufficient directions to get it done . . . thank you for posting!
What kind of directions do you need. This process is common sense.

You are absolutely wrong, per instructions of Morton Water Softener Cleanser bottle.
@@guymanstrong9762 That may be the bottle instructions now, but the effect remains identical.

@@daveprostine1055 be ready to siphon out all the blue water left in the tank as it won't actually cycle it all and will leave a ton behind.
Thanks!
Thank you!
