I can vouch that what he's saying is very true from my own experience. While I was recovering from a painful heartbreak (i was very emotionally invested in that relationship), my pet dog became fatally ill and it took immense effort, apart from expenditure, to save her. I had to force feed her liquid food with a syringe, arrange for blood transfusion, wipe her butt clean to prevent infection. But while was saving her, I had, inadvertantly, saved myself from going mad with hopelessness. Now, she's fully recovered and takes the edge off my loneliness.

Anna Marie Tendler had to deal with something similar. She was facing a divorce from John Mulaney (which was very public) and lost her dog. Today I see her promoting her book, running marathons, and it helps me feel better to know that she’s pushing through it and laughing with her friends. I’m also going through a breakup.. I haven’t recouped but we’ll get there. Wishing you so much progress and success to help you move forward from it ❤

@@cynthiaxd18It's been ten months, and I don't even remember posting this message. Thanks for your kind words. God speed to you too in your path to recovery. Heartbreaks are so painful!!!
The most important thing that l learned, albeit very late in life, was to remind myself that, "This too shall pass." These were Lincoln's favourite words, it is said. Life's so volatile. Sometimes things seem insufferably hopeless as if life is worthless; and then, suddenly, we discover overwhelming beauty, and joy, and purpose in life. When you find that beauty, joy or purpose in life, you feel glad that you pulled through and it was all worthwhile. What made the difficult situations worse for me, and harder to recover from, was my tendency to give up as if my life was over and, consequently, spiral into depression. My dog, indeed, saved me. She's already 12 years old, which is the twilight age in the lifespan of dogs. But my dear furry friend neither looks old nor shows signs of senility. She looks very young and healthy; eats only one meal a day, and exercises (jogs) everyday with me.

The point is to try to somehow get out of that comfort zone due to which you are avoiding the task. For eg. If you have to go outside to do some stuff but you are avoiding it and sitting back in a.c. then try to somehow making it difficult to stay in the room like switching off the a.c. so you find moving outside easier than sitting at sofa.

After my Mom died, I lost my Dream job that I was so proud of for going to see her on my probation period (which was my last time seeing her alive) and the woman I loved who I had plans to start a family with got pregnant with another Man's child, ALL in the Same Month, I No longer had any Focal point, Goal or Passion because My "Reason" for waking up and Grinding Everyday was because I had came up with a plan to buy my Mom a house, me and my girl a house and start a family and this was my "Why".. So Life Ripped that away from me and Made SURE that plan was over with.. I was Depressed (of course lol) and I was afraid to make a plan and I was Heartbroken.. So.. Life decided to Align All the Bullshit and I got a 50k insurance policy.. Buttt... Anywho, 4 years prior I had surgery and they prescribed me Vicodin and I remembered how it made me feel.. I found some, bought some and Opiates Release Dopamine at a Very High Rate.. I didn't know nor had any one to tell me what could happen.. Sooo I had to learn the Hard way 😀.. That 50k was just a means to Run from my Pain.. I did Alot of Good with it.. Bought people cars, paid people bills, was giving Homeless people $200 and they would cry.. I don't have kids so I wanted to give a less fortunate kid a good Christmas but had no way to find a kid.. Had a friend who worked with kids at the YMCA.. Instead of One kid, We just had a whole class of kids (23 or 24) write down 2 things they wanted and We went out and bought it.. I Love helping people 🤷🏾.. Anyway.. By the time I realized I had a problem feeding myself dopamine, It was too late.. I was in Addiction.. I couldn't stop anymore 😔.. I went to Church and got prayed over and the Preacher asked what can he pray for me for.. I Said Addiction and he prayed over me and said "This is going to be a Process".. (A year earlier God Delivered me from being an Alcoholic overnight.. Went from drinking every single day to Never having the taste for it again in one night).. But this.. I guess wasn't as Dangerous as opiates and It's a Process.. Here it is 7 years later and whatever Life itself didn't take from me, Addiction did 😔 I Now have NOTHING to live for and have been Abandoned by the ones I Love..
So.. I have to figure out how to go from having so much dopamine in my brain to little to None.. After 7.5 years of being in Addiction, at 31 years old, this is All I know.. Trying to Overcome Addiction with Nothing to Live for and Nobody in your corner and having to accept the fact that Your loved ones have either left you, betrayed you, or just don't love you anymore.. It's Not easy tryna overcome addiction when that Root is still there.. It's like.. If I take this addiction away right now, as MISERABLE as Addiction has made my Life, I'm not sure I'd be able to Mentally withstand dealing with and Facing the fact that Nobody Loves me and I have Nothing head on.. I tried to stop feeding my brain dopamine in January and almost pulled my hair out because my Anxiety and heartache was like, burning my soul.. I have what The Bible Calls "a Sick Heart and a Broken Spirit".. So.. I've come to the Conclusion, ONLY God Can Save someone like me and Love someone like me 😔 God is my ONLY Hope! There is NO other way.. No tricks, No nothing.. How Can you save a Man like me outside of God? And everything I revealed is n this comment was Barely the Tip of the iceberg.. I couldn't say All I've been through in the span of 8.5 years!
ONLY GOD 😔✝️🙏 Nonetheless... Through it All.. I'm Grateful for what I do have.. Sorry for Complaining Lord 😔🙏

This why we work out why we as Men have to do dangerous things ok it's not some character defect at the deeper level. I won't argue that this in itself isn't habit forming that it doesn't evolve into a character defect so even in practice it's s difficult or risky even dangerous. Something I'm STILL struggling with though I have the knowledge. But being a Man is DIFFICULT it's SUPPOSED TO BE DIFFICULT. What you find out if you take your pursuit of knowledge and truth deep enough is the clear and unavoidable truth that WE AS CREATED BEINGS WERE DESIGNED this way by a POWERFUL CREATOR for an ingenious and cosmic purpose. Never stop seeking the truth and YOU WILL FIND IT.

Why does it only have to be challenging to be a man its also challenging to simply be a living organism that continues to live, also the truth doesnt exist thats just like saying to be in the moment, its indexic general enought to be meaningless unless you relate the Truth to an object of discussion like the truth of some fact based awnser or were did the green ball go, or the truth of socialogic trends but that changes so truth only exists in relation to something. Well if theres one thing or truth i know its that im having an experience of something that its like to be alive. Thats general but yea truth as in some ultimate truth is just coming from your experience so while its tru for you, you must recognize its not for me and if I were to develop faith in god then it would become tru for me too, but just because it COULD become tru in my experience that doesnt mean its ULTIMATLY true in that no way of experiencing that world could become more meaningfull for me than the way I am experiencing it RIGHT NOW of that were to change. It was horrible for the first few weeks but it got easier and better with a time and even though I'm not a developer and didn't proceed with this career it was the best type of a co-therapy I could have. Medication is one thing, but realizing that your brain is still able to function after years of total slumber (a healthy dopamine kick I guess) is the best.
