    I’d so glad I found this video. I just purchased out of your ‘kits” and am having trouble following the written pattern. I am brand new at this. It all makes sense now! Thank you!

    Love this square! I followed along very easily, rewinding where I fell behind. I'm a bit slow as still a novice and also using cotton yarn which slows me down too. Such a simple but beautiful square! I'm using it to make a cotton bedspread. Thankyou 😊

      Same! I work slower with cotton, I’m glad you enjoyed the square!

      At the start of round 4, assuming the 2 chain is a stitch should it not be 1 hdc in the DC space. If you do 2 hdc it ends up with 6 stitches in that chain 5 space, because at the end of the round you do another 3hdc into that space. Can anyone help?

    This is such a beautiful pattern as I have been searching for a different granny square so when i saw this one i really thought it would be the one. I have tried to follow this video and I must admit, it's very difficult. Please slow down and explain. Your puff stich row was the only one that was explained well. I have rewound the video several times and tried to follow, but then I realize you did something different than what you were saying. It's such a lovely pattern but for a visual person, the video is hard to follow. Sorry, I can appreciate the time you put into doing this video, but please slow down and explain each row more clearly.

    Wish I could make this beautiful pattern, but the instructions and the video are not clear, just can't make out where are the stitches happening

    Beautiful. I used completely different yarn to create a bag. But looks very pretty with cotton too.
    Btw the first round didn’t work for me to tighten the circle. I used a magic circle instead.

    First round very confusing you chain 7 then go into 4th from hook . Don't know how you make so many with only 3 stitches left. Maybe slower and closer up to show.

    • @lifeandyarn
      @lifeandyarn  Год назад

      I’m not sure where you are seeing 7 chains…you start with a Ch 4 and then work all the stitches in the 4th chain. The second round has 7 dc sts per shell.

      This video was very helpful when used in conjunction with the pattern. I am finding differences. I think there may be some errors in the written pattern and maybe an error in this video. I'm trying to work it out now. Anyway, the video is very helpful. The square is lovely. I really like the pattern, once I work out the few kinks it will be great. Thank you for sharing it.

    Ok, this got screwed uo for me early. You corrected the half double/double error, but you then said turn your work, and you didn't turn....either reshoot this or take it down because Inwatched it 3 times and couldn't understand whatnyounwere doing. Bad instructions.

    • @momo13D
      @momo13D 22 дня назад

      The turn in this case isn’t like your normal turn, it’s more so I think she meant turn the corner not flip the work.

  • @MinaTheWeena69

    Can I ask if there's a benefit to this method of starting the granny square vs a normal chain/magic circle start?
    I have never seen this type of start before and was really confused (my own fault, I def overcomplicated it)

    • @lifeandyarn
      @lifeandyarn  Год назад +1

      Do you mean starting with the ch 4 or the shell detail in the center? You could start differently but would need to create the 8dc and ch 1 sps for the shells to work.

    • @MinaTheWeena69
      @MinaTheWeena69 Год назад

      I mostly meant specifically working in the first chain for all the double crochets instead of doing a magic circle.
      This is the first time I had seen a start like that in a pattern, so I was just curious if you felt it was easier to work/easier with the specific foundation of double crochet you were doing compared to working with a magic circle 😊
      Thanks!

    Every time I tried to see where you’re about to insert your hook, there’s a weird jump cut that skips past it - Whyyyy?😥 Between misnaming stitches, flying through verbal instructions and poor video work, this was essentially impossible to follow… such a beautiful pattern - it would be awesome if you would upload a better tutorial for it.

    Beautiful square but maybe lose the background music. I found the music distracting and quite irritating to the point it left me unable to continue with the tut. You have a great voice and, from what I saw, a great teaching method so why do you need to "gild the lily?"

      Yes! All wolf trap…it’s a great color but so hard to capture on camera…I can’t explain it. I would say it’s a neutral but it’s also a blush pink.l and has some heathering to it too!

    Ok, it is free. It is a lovely square. It is a sample of your work. I liked the square, but the video and written instructions were so awful I learned to make a chart, just to figure it out. Thumbs down.

    • @lifeandyarn
      @lifeandyarn  11 месяцев назад

      Well ok, but this pattern has been tech edited so that it is written to CYC standard and tested multiple times. I’m not sure why you had an issue, I’m sorry you found it confusing.

    • @lainer44
      @lainer44 11 месяцев назад +2

      Pattern is wonderful! It is the instructions and video I had an issue with. I have made a chart template of your design which I will not share with anyone except you. I have the highest respect for your efforts. I had a business once when my youngest was worn on my back in a backpack device. Eventually, it was very successful. All I am saying is be "mindful" - the less time you have, the more slowly you must go. I want you to succeed in the BEST/Worst way@@lifeandyarn

      @melchi2792 10 месяцев назад +2

      I have to agree that the video and pattern is hard to follow. It seems like it’s more complicated than needs to be. I think I will just try to remake into a way that’s easier but the specific area for me that is hard but maybe just new is connecting with dc and or it not being clear which dc I’m supposed to be working into or skipping. A chart would be ideal! But it is really beautiful.

      @lifeandyarn At 8:10 your directions do not match what you're crocheting at all. Of course there'll be confusion when listening to errors and needing to slow down + zoom in to see what's actually being done.

  • @cvholm5904
    @cvholm5904 5 месяцев назад +1

    Too hard to understand and not clear

  • @kawaiiphase7829
    @kawaiiphase7829 6 месяцев назад +1

    Do better with your tutorial accuracy. Around 8:10 your directions are full of mistakes vs what you're actually crocheting and you don't correct yourself at all.
