before contributing to Open Source on Git you need to be fluent in a language even tho that's not absolutely necessary . Select your niche like Web Development , App development , etcc . Do leetcode and ALWAYS stay in the community .

Can I make it big like you through Remote Work IF I work hard on my skills? I fear that companies will see this gap as a negative point and they'll not prefer me because of that. Please guide.
You have to work really hard tho, i have a similar gap. I got placed through a coding bootcamp called Sharpener. Making a github profile and adding projects, hosting them is enough to get a job in India provided that you have cleared the rounds.
While I agree with all your other points, but I am really curious as to why we want similar pay like America's.? Salaries are based on Purchasing power and a lot of factors. Of course salary of Microsoft in India will be less than those of America's; but then your expenditure is way less in India than America's. So I don't understand why you talk about 20 lakh salaries in such disdain? A person earning 100,000$ in America lives an equivalent lifestyle to someone who earns 23,00,000Rs in India. And moreover the one in India will get all the freedom like opening a startup, or youtube channel or etc etc. Not everyone wants to move abroad, many people want to work in India and they thrive at 23 lpa well. You are right remote work is a great option as well and it's a option that I look forward to explore.
Can you buy a house in Delhi with this 2300000 annual salary Kunal here is talking about daily expenses because he lived in Delhi. Here normal 100 gaj KOTHI(house) will cost around 4-5 crore .

In india even if you have a gap in education no company even give you a chance to participate in their recruiment drive.It is happening with me now.Due to my health issue I had to quit my engineering degree in the middle of my course.It was 2012.I lost my dad that time also.But in 2017 after a lot of struggle I appear in state entrance exam and have taken admission into a govt. engineering college.Try to give my career a fresh start.But service based company like TCS,Infosys etc only allow 2 yrs gap.Now I am getting hopeless day by day.I know I am not as good as apply for faang company.But at least better than those ninja profile employee in TCS.Thanks brother for this informative and motivative video

I can say open source is amazing it helped me make connections, I have support from the community be it technical or emtional like we hang out stuff and I even get paid through OC from them. IT's AMAZING
