  • Today I decided to address something I noticed a couple of weeks ago, regarding the lack of fuel in my "refuelling station": we'll be flying a Skylon-inspired vessel to replenish the station's tanks, to leave it in a slightly more functional state!

NASA is like when you finish the tech tree. When you started out, it was super cool and fun. When you finish the tech tree, everything gets really boring (probably 1990-2000). You start to go back to places after taking a break from the game (artemis) and you let other people download your crafts (letting people use your rockets).

Sup, Matt just an fyi, angle of attack is essentially the angle between the prograde marker and your attitude on the navball. Not just ur navball attitude. 3:08 basically your angle of attack in reality would be around 5 degrees, with your pitch at 20. So if you had an angle of attack of 15-20 degrees, it would create a ton of drag. Awesome video loved it :)

Matt, when you are docking you don’t need to kill all speed just to make a little adjustment. You can just burn on the opposite side of the retrograde marker so that it moves closer to the anti-target icon, if that makes sense. I’m pretty sure that that saves some deltaV

I then had to delete all the failed rockets, I still have a mess in VAB... The successful one was... I think Nefela (literally a random greek goddess) E2. I have even tried to use sparks as vacuum engines, seeing that they give a lot of delta-v, thinking that they are small but efficient. Hey, I'm not sure if you're still quite as into these KSP vids as you used to be, but I'd be very interested in seeing what kind of solution you could devise for Kerbin ocean vessel refueling with stock (as I'm on PS4) and DLC parts in KSP 🤔

I’ve had that scatterer glitch before. What you have to do is re install scatterer. This worked for me so I’m not sure if it will work for you.

I watch this and I'm like, how taf did he line that up and dock it first try? I'm new and I suck at docking which is why I haven't been able to do a Duna return mission yet because i burn all my fuel trying to dock.

Nice, compact video - i'm not feeling as bad for watching one full video of yours before starting to work and learn :D
I guess you've got enough ideas and projects in mind for your videos, but in any case: i think it would be a cool upgrade for one of your space stations in LKO to provide some kind of big and very efficient, de- and re-tachable engine-module (perhaps like a ton of ion-engines or a cluster nuclear engines or whatever) to carry large amounts of payload from LKO to somewhere else in the system. So potentially a large-scale project would only need stages to get stuff in LKO and from then on the big efficient engine-module can take over and get back to refill once its done... though i don't even know if smth like that is even managable/useful, perhaps someone here can enlighten me :D
Anyways, i hope you (and naturally everyone else who's reading this ; ) ) have an awesome weekend!

This is sorta like my current career save, I have a module that can push 150 tons of payload out to either the Mun or Minmus, all while coming back to low Kerbin orbit to my fuel depot to get refueled again.

Not similiar. Candarm uses robotnic arm to dock using docking port on the ship. Using arm opony would not allow to transport anything.

I landed on the moon for the first time recently, the landing was bad, the rocket lost all it communication and is stuck on its side... But the lander is fine, except it's out of fuel. So I'm sending an unmanned probe that is just the Sputnik probe with 4 research containers 4 legs and some flashing lights. It will land nearby and the kerbals will put their science in it and the probe will send the data back through transmission.. I built the probe but now the rocket XD
