I have flown on 787 with Ethiopian (first time with this company), being a frequent flier, it was the best crossing of the atlantic ocean ever. I found very comfortable configuration with excellent leg space (I am 6 feet) , the improved air humidity was something I noticed, feeling much better , to my delight, the plane had very good space as well for overhead cabin suitcase/backpacks compartments, really excellent on this. there are airliners that really make a fuss to travellers due to this, excellent entertainment system and flight info as well. I found also the bathrooms being more roomy than average,- a very welcomed thing. The crew has more space for preparing the meals, helping the quality of their service. In all, the windows adjustable tint instead of moc¿ving shades was superb,, all cabin not disturbed by excess of sun light. I slept incredibly well being in economy. The plane its like a swan, its long wings evidenced this is something very new high tech., now I UNDERSTAND why we did not suffer of any turbulence, there is also new technology for this. Also important, the remarkable lower level of noise inside the cabin, felt like reading a book at iat home. GREAT plane, resulting in a new level of client satisfaction . I want to fly again on this.

And don't get me started on that really innovative battery containment box. It's a work of art. How graciously it separates all these Lithium Ion cells. Next time I fly the 787, I will bring my parachute in case I get a free upgrade to a structural inflight breakup experience. 😍

The GE engines on the 787 are a whisper in contrast to the Trent 1000 noisemakers. With GE engines, the cabin is amazingly quiet. You can hold a conversation on board like no other. We went American Airlines with GE.
GEs are more durable than the RRs. I know that the GENX had issues as well, but the thing is that GE acknowledged and fixed the issues, so now they are as reliable as a LEAP engine on an A320NEO
I really don't understand how RR made a good job with the engine of the 787, a380 ect, but not with the 787😑, like that they don't take it that seriously. It really a shame and something to be more anger. We can get to the conclusion that every company have it site of corruption in one way in another.

I flew the 787 for the first time in 2016, from Sydney to Hawaii (return). I upgraded my economy class to the seats behind business class & I was very pleased with the softness/smoothness of the landing. I don't know if that was due to my seats being forward of the main landing gear, or if the 787 is a superior designed aircraft. The 8170Km (5076 mile) flight was without drama & I really liked the greater viewing from those large windows - although for the majority of the flight we were over the ocean. I've not been on the Airbus A380, but I initially I thought the competition with the 787 Dreamliner would be won by the A380. But after having flown the Dreamliner, I've had to change my position... It's a nice ride!
compared to the 777 this aircraft has narrower seats and a more cramped cabin.(I think the airlines are to be blamed for this as they are greedy.)..the positive factors for the 787 are the noise factor and the ambient cabin lighting
The 787 is the best flying experience I've ever had. The cabin humidity makes a huge difference compared to other aircraft, it feels spacious and it's pretty quiet, even when I sat just above the wings. Never flew on the A350 though.
Very slick and instructive video. The 787 is a great aircraft to fly in. Unfortunately it is still experiencing some additional problems vis a vis the fuselage bonding as also with the vertical and horizontal stabiliser tolerances. Hope they are minor and can be resolved. Thanks for the information.
In 2018 I flew in this aircraft from Sydney to Los Angeles -- a wonderful, comfortable experience even without first class seating. I cannot recall a more relaxing flight -- and I've been on hundreds.
You are kidding, aren’t you? With litigation driving up costs in every business, product or service it is not surprising that costs do not rise to that level.
@@wmeemw994 it is astonishing considering that the A350, the 787s closest competitor, had an original development cost of 5 billion dollars, before the 2008 redesign doubled it to 10 billion and later 12 billion, reached break even in 2019, while the 787, which has about double the sales, was launched first and entered commercial service before the A350, has yet to do reach said mark.

The quality of work in So Carolina is inferior, the level of expertise is fiercely inferior and can't be compared to that of Seattle's. In Charleston, it's alleged that people are hired from off the street without any work experience, let alone knowing how to assemble a plane. They're told just follow the instructions. No oversight and everything is signed off without anyone checking the work. They go to lunch or take a break, smoke a weed or two and then go back trying to assemble an airplane! Yes, I would refuse delivery of any aircraft from there, as well. Only from Seattle is where that AIRLINER said they would accept their fleet. STILL LOVE BOEING. Everyone screws up at some time or another. BUT YOU GOTTA PAY.
Had the pleasure of flying long haul 6000+ miles in a Dreamliner last month when I visited Bangladesh using Biman. Their Dreamliners in the fleet are only a couple of years old as they upgraded to the 787-8 and 787-9's so late. What I immediately noticed is I didn't have a blocked ear a single time whilst I was in the air. Also they kept the windows tinted and switched on mood lighting to help with ambience / mood.
Here's another point: For those saying that Boeing is solely responsible for the Rolls Royce issues because Boeing wanted RR to make an efficient Trent engine in the first place, that makes the airlines solely responsible for the MAX victims because the airlines wanted Boeing to make a more efficient 737 in the first place. However, if the airlines that weren't informed about mcas are not to be blamed for the MAX, Boeing, who was never informed by RR about anything, is not to be blamed for the Trent 1000.
I was just recently flying in a 787-9 with JAL. The 12 hrs flight was gorgeous. Great interior, spacious and comfy seats, silent inside, very modern comfortable toilets.
Great video! Thank you!
the Dreamliner is awesome jet to have the BBJ version.
The amount of technical information you have is astonishing
You made it easy to watch to the end.
Its fun working on the 787, nothing like new airplane smell :)
The 787 is the most comfortable plane I have ever taken (in Economy). The increased cabin pressure really makes a difference.
Great insights ,indepth and professional research and excellent and informative presentation.
Absolutely love this channel
So do I. He really knows what he's talking about! And Sky has a very pleasing voice plus the accent holds my attention!
Sky, I thank you again. The uploads you produce are second to none. Suffice 👍👍
I can't wait for the day I set my foot into one of those
its amazing but Air India made it shit
Worked for Boeing Charleston on the 787 project for 7 years. Built the 47 (tail) section. Nice video.
Great video and amazing aircraft! Can hardly wait to see what Boeing unveils this month a Farnborough! Its MoM time! 😎😄❤️🛫
My wife will not fly long haul, 2 years ago we were flying from uk to majorca, We had the good fortune to be flying on the dreamliner with tui wow, Now Tui offer the dreamliner a few times a year to fly short haul so Last couple of years I have booked our holidays to coincide when the dreamliner will be flying shorthaul to spain, majorca love this plane as does my wife.
Just toured the Charleston final assembly plant. Really amazing to see how clean and efficiently they are manufactured.
Good info. Thanks.
Excellent video. Good work. Thank you.
I have flown on this model 2 times in Economy. there were no incidents and it was no more or less confortable than the 777.
compared to the 777 this aircraft has narrower seats and a more cramped cabin.(I think the airlines are to be blamed for this as they are greedy.)..the positive factors for the 787 are the noise factor and the ambient cabin lighting
Thank you for the video, Sky!
Nice job. Thanks for sharing.
The 787 is the best flying experience I've ever had. The cabin humidity makes a huge difference compared to other aircraft, it feels spacious and it's pretty quiet, even when I sat just above the wings. Never flew on the A350 though.
The most beautiful...the most elegant wings in the biz. Love this bird.
I hope to fly in one someday. They are a remarkable feat of engineering.
Sky said I'm awesome! "Everything is awesome". :)
Love your videos Dude!! Thanks 👍🏼🛩👆
In 2018 I flew in this aircraft from Sydney to Los Angeles -- a wonderful, comfortable experience even without first class seating. I cannot recall a more relaxing flight -- and I've been on hundreds.
economy 3 -3 -3 seating is horrible on it
Beautiful
Another fine presentation!
Thanks
One of my favorite planes
Excellent video, thank you for this amazing work you've done.

Many Thanks to the Developers and engineers of this aircraft. It’s quite amazing.
I have to fly on this aircraft someday. Excellent job Boeing.
My dream is to be a dreamliner pilot
Excellent video. Production is the best ever. And, the plane is a marvel!
It just occurred to me how insanely over budget the project went that they need to sell about 1200 Planes to break even.
the latest estimate was at 1,600 aircraft...
Communist, race-baiting, capitalism-killing labor unions will do that to you as they did it to the American steel industry and the American automotive industry and on and on and on...
I flew on this airplane. It looked great! There was a great IFE, a window that didn't need a shade to seal off light from the sun, it looked something from the future, except it was actually living in the present!
my fav plane to fly on
Nice presentation. Thank you.
A number of airlines refused delivery of aircraft assembled in South Carolina for quality reasons.
Which ones?
The best airliner I've ever flown in :) absolute beauty
It is so silent when it flies over my home. It sounds like a private jet. I would like to see this aircraft in Turkish Airlines' colors next year.
For those saying the 787 is the Cheapliner, your A350 is a CheapWB.
I had no back or leg problems even after that long flight. Yes, it is a dreamliner.
I wonder how the A350 is like compared to pax comfort.
Sky, good video as always and will you add the Airbus A220 to your Airbus Series?
Se Fi i think he did a video already on the C-series?
Bakang Holden Really? I think he only did one on the Bombardier CRJ-Series
Se Fi ok
A220 is sucks, A320 better
i mean it was developed pretty much entirely by bombardier
SUPERB video about a SUPERB airliner - the Boeing 787-8, -9, and -10!!! Nevertheless, the Boeing 747 also remains quite impressive. Thumbs UP to Boeing!
the strength of THE U.S.A 🇺🇸
The plane parts were built in multiple countries
@@RealVidjag my point is usa dominate aviation we have boeing Lockheed Martin GE EA PRATT AND WHITNEY and several other aerospace company we also have NASA and the largest air force.
Looking forwards to taking Dreamliner 787 in the near future !
Congratulations nice and interesting video, good job!
Awesome video. Great information...well done..
3:11 That guy just dropped his paper standing nameplate
I was looking for this comment i saw it too :D
The other guy folded his nameplate over the table. I wonder which one is an engineer.
That guy is stupid. Look later on 20:06 couldn’t unfold it... 🤓
Very impressive video. Thank you!
