I have a few questions. First, how many days in advance can I do this for my wedding? I would probably prep the beads beforehand but I’m not sure how long the water beads last before an event. Second do you have to use distilled water? And third, if I am transporting this for a wedding do you think this is possible?
It depends on how long you keep it covered, if you don't keep it covered eventually the water will go down and the beads will shrink. However, if you keep refilling the water to keep them covered they will last quite awhile!
Why do you recommend distilled water? Will you provide the links or names of the companies of the water beads & pearls that you buy? Have you ever had any from a different manufacturer that didn't work as well?
I have tried all sorts of beads & they always float to the top. What are the beads you are using & what are they made of? What other items can be used in place of the colored beads?
How do you keep the water gels looking invisible. After mine sat for awhile they just turned into beads and soaked up all the water. Im making these for my daughters wedding centerpieces. Please help
If you keep them covered- they will last a while. I personally haven’t used them more than a few days so I can’t say for sure how long they would last but at least a few days if kept covered or additional water is added to keep the beads covered completely.
Niki P Tranquille That would depend on the clarity of your tap water. If you don’t have clear tap water, I would highly recommend using distilled water so it looks clearer and gives more of the ‘floating’ illusion. 😊
The packaging will give you the exact amount of water to beads based on the type you buy. But mine I just used a bowl full of water and started with around a tablespoon of beads. They're so tiny and they grow SO big! It doesn't look like a lot but it does turn out to be a lot.
How did you keep the light frosting m floating up? How do you keep the beads from slipping out of the vase as they expand. And I soaked my gel beads for over 8 hrs… 😢😢😢
That happened to one I made so I just added more water & it worked. Seems if they're out of the water at all u can see them. Or u could maybe a flower on top.
It would depend on the size of your vase but I would plan on one pack of beads per vase. I had some leftover but not enough to make another full vase out of the leftover beads. I hope that helps! 😊
I haven’t tested how long the candle would last for but if you get a decent sized floating candle you should get a good while from it. Since it floats, you can just pick it up out of the water to replace it when needed 😊
It doesn't have to be no hole beads but I think it gives it more of a professional look that if you have beads with a hole...in my opinion it takes away from the overall look.
Do you have issues with the water beads floating to the top after about an hour or so? I’m not sure how to get mine to stay in the vase. I pre soaked them and they keep starting to rise to the top.
No, I haven't run into that issue. I pre-soak them and then fill the jar up (almost all the way- leaving room to add the water). Once I do that and add the water, there really isn't a lot of room left for them to float up.
With something covering the top to prevent them from drying up it will last quite a while (several weeks). If not, you’ll need to refill the water regularly or they will shrink.
If you made it the day before the event, I would still add water then but cover it with something like Saran Wrap to prevent losing water and then just touch it up the day of the event. If you make it without water the day before, they will definitely shrink.
To avoid any little floating things that might be in the water and take away from the overall look- you don’t HAVE to use distilled water … it’s just what I use.
I purchased my items from various places...the floating pearls I bought on Amazon, the candle was hobby lobby and the vase I already had but that can be purchased from the Dollar Tree. :)
Shareese Adams If you make the vase with water and beads and cover the top with Saran Wrap it will last for quite awhile (just take the Saran Wrap off when you want to use it etc for display). If you don’t cover the top, the beads will begin to dry up and shrink - noticeable different in their size after a day or so. 😊
Thank u for letting us know we should soak the water beads 1st...i had saw another video where that person didn't mention it but there water beads were bigger than yours, so perhaps they did that beforehand
Thanks! If you did it with flowers, you would want to use something to weight them down so they won’t float. I used a fake flower once and didn’t weight it down with anything- after about 10 min it was floating and popping out of the top of the vase 😬
Your video is the only one that says to soak the beads in DISTILLED WATER....It doesn't even say that in the instructions for the water gel beads. Why do you specify distilled water??
I have literally spent an hour trying to figure out how to make these work, THANK YOU!
WOW!! That is so cool and simple and very beautiful. Thank you for showing this. 🤗
So beautiful! Thank you!!!

This is so beautiful 😍 I’m going to do several as centerpieces for my upcoming birthday celebration!
Beautiful. Thank you! I'm making one now..
So excited to try this. You explained it perfect! Ty so much Amy. I'm subscribing ♡
Amy, love this! What is the height and diameter of the vase? Does the bowl for gels soaking need to be clear?
Thank you!. Best video ever! Can't wait to make one of these
Beautiful centerpiece
Tks for the diy info, can I add other fake branches in as well?
That looks real nice
Thank you!
How often do you have to change the water?
Awesome!! Thanks for doing this
Real cool.
I like that
Beautiful ,
How long does it last ?

So beautiful 😻
Thank you! 😊
Its sooo beautiful dear 👌
Thank you!
So how do we stop them from expanding I’ve done this and after a few hours the beads start to get to big and push out of the top
I have the same question please. They don't stay invisible
Beautiful! 💙
Thank you! 😊
As the candle burns, where does the wax go?
Why do you recommend distilled water? Will you provide the links or names of the companies of the water beads & pearls that you buy? Have you ever had any from a different manufacturer that didn't work as well?
This is amazing thanks so much for sharing
Anytime! Thanks for watching 😊
I have tried all sorts of beads & they always float to the top.
What are the beads you are using & what are they made of?
What other items can be used in place of the colored beads?
What if you needed to set the vases up on at a venue? How do you transport them after soaking them?
If I were doing it, I’d soak a lot of them in 5 gallon storage bucket with a secure lid and then assemble them in individual vases at the venue.
@@amycreates1075 Thank you for your help.
Cool I like it
Do they have to be clear? I did blue and it didn't work every thing sunk
How do I get rid of air bubbles?
How do you keep the water gels looking invisible. After mine sat for awhile they just turned into beads and soaked up all the water. Im making these for my daughters wedding centerpieces. Please help
When I added water I could still see the gel beads, any idea why
Hye 1 dought after u added water the transparent water beads didnt look like they r inside only we can see red beads floating in water
I am going to do this for a wedding rehearsal dinner. I am doing this for 7 cylinders. How many packages of beads would sufficient for me needs?
How far in advance can I make this?
As long as you leaven the top covered, or refill the water as needed you can make it pretty far out in advance.
So the pearls have to have no holes in order to float?
Hi I can't get my pearls to float. What am I doing wrong?
Hello! How long do they last?

Does it have to be distilled water or can it be regular tap water ?

@@amycreates1075 thanks for the info
What kind of water are you soaking them in the jell beads and how much water and beads are you using ?
I used distilled water for the vase and for soaking any type of water will work. I used one small bag of beads. A little goes a long way!
Wow so cool! Great idea! What size is the vase?
The vase in the video is about 10 in tall. :)
Pouvez vous me dire ce que vous avez dans votre bidon car je ne parle pas anglais merci de m aider
What kind of red beads are they?
water gel beads
How much beads and how much water to soak?
The packaging will give you the exact amount of water to beads based on the type you buy. But mine I just used a bowl full of water and started with around a tablespoon of beads. They're so tiny and they grow SO big! It doesn't look like a lot but it does turn out to be a lot.
Just did one of these but I added a light under the bottom
Oh I bet that was a beautiful additional to the vase!
How did you keep the light frosting m floating up? How do you keep the beads from slipping out of the vase as they expand. And I soaked my gel beads for over 8 hrs… 😢😢😢
Can I use a flower to float on top? Also I have tried and some of the gel beads are visible on the top, so what can I do to remedy this?
That happened to one I made so I just added more water & it worked. Seems if they're out of the water at all u can see them. Or u could maybe a flower on top.
If I needed like 5 of these how many packs of gel beads do you think that would be
It would depend on the size of your vase but I would plan on one pack of beads per vase. I had some leftover but not enough to make another full vase out of the leftover beads. I hope that helps! 😊
When I made this all my decorations floated up the top and didnt stay put with the beads...any idea why?
Mine do the same.
How many gel beads did you have in the vase. I layer them to wear they beads are essentially "stuck".
Why use gel beads vs just clear marbles?
The gel beads seem to look more invisible in the water in my opinion but you can use your preference. 😊
Hello. How long does the floating candle burn for? Once they burn out how do you replace the floating candle?
I haven’t tested how long the candle would last for but if you get a decent sized floating candle you should get a good while from it. Since it floats, you can just pick it up out of the water to replace it when needed 😊
What color water pearls did you use? White ?
The water beads are clear and the no hole pearls I used were red.
For future reference can you put down the Amazon link where you bought it from
Absolutely! The link to the product I used in the video is: amzn.to/2GX8BmH
Thanks for watching! :)
Why no hold beads?
It doesn't have to be no hole beads but I think it gives it more of a professional look that if you have beads with a hole...in my opinion it takes away from the overall look.
Do you have issues with the water beads floating to the top after about an hour or so? I’m not sure how to get mine to stay in the vase. I pre soaked them and they keep starting to rise to the top.

How long do these last once they are put together?
With something covering the top to prevent them from drying up it will last quite a while (several weeks). If not, you’ll need to refill the water regularly or they will shrink.
Oops. just saw this same question further down. Great video and answers
Hi. Can I make these the day before and add water the day of the event ?

shane mack I found mine on Amazon

Oh yes definitely soak the beads! I probably should have let mine soak longer but I get impatient and want to start creating stuff right away. 😂
So beautiful!😍 Could this be done with fake flowers instead of pearls? Or is it going to get moldy?
Thanks! If you did it with flowers, you would want to use something to weight them down so they won’t float. I used a fake flower once and didn’t weight it down with anything- after about 10 min it was floating and popping out of the top of the vase 😬
😍😍🥰🥰👍👍👍👍
What if my pearls have holes
They will not float
Y that kind of Watter??
I find it’s just a bit clearer. Less little ‘floaties’ that might take away from the overall look .
can i just use a tap water instead of distilled ?
You can- the water might not be as clear for the effect but yes you can use tap water.
Your video is the only one that says to soak the beads in DISTILLED WATER....It doesn't even say that in the instructions for the water gel beads. Why do you specify distilled water??
I use distilled water just so the water is as pure and crisp as possible. You don’t have to…that’s just how I make mine.
You also get larger sized beads by using distilled water
How long do they last??
