We use CineMatch with 90% of our projects. It works great most of the time! It doesn’t replace knowing how to color correctly, though. It’s also worth knowing how to get the best image out of your camera’s log footage-there are times that the native color settings are definitely better than the ‘’matched” log settings
I prefer Cinematch. I also like using the tools in the plugin to dial in the colour even more so (exposure, moving hues and saturation). You can do the same thing in Lumteri, but I find Cinematch's workflow quicker and easier.
Love the plugin, but yes, it is making my timeline really to go slow on macbook m1 pro 16gb. Even after rendering the timeline, it’s difficult to playback in ‘better quality’ i’ll try to export a couple of luts but I’m not sure this could be handy in my case. I’m editing a 30 minutes documentary with hundreds of different kind of images, lighting, situations, etc.
It's amazing how different the Arri emulation Phantom LUT looks compared to the Cinematch. One of them isnt getting it right. Which one is the most authentic?
We haven't tried out the Phantom LUTs, but we know from our in-house testing that the CineMatch is extremely faithful to the Arri color response that we've sampled. We do have a free trial version of CineMatch with all the camera profiles enabled, so you can try it out for yourself and see what you think

Very true! Thanks for watching.
Very helpful, thanks. Do you prefer the look of the Phantom lut or Cinematch (when converting your Sony footage to Arri)?

Will there be a final cut version?
@@janthony1980 yes, we're working on the Final Cut version now

Nice one about exporting the LUT for FCPX
Glad it was helpful!

True! I’m not sure. I’ve never used an Arri so don’t have a frame of reference really.

We use CM on all our footage at Mariken & Martin Media.
Nice!
Very helpfull.
Glad it was helpful!
I love the phantom LUTS but haven’t tried anything else
They do seem to be the industry standard 😉👍
Cinematch is just straight ballers. Its that good!
It is very helpful! Thanks for watching 👍
Great video! What on earth are you using Clean my Mac? This is malware and actually slows down your computer. The Mac doesn't need that crap software.
It’s been pretty useful for me so far with removing unneeded files etc. I’ll look into this further though. Thanks for the tip 👍
Yep. Every single time I’ve used Clean My Mac, it’s made it unbootable.
