@@LifewithSerg Since I left Thailand, I've been back in 1984, 1999, 2003, 2008 and 2012. I've tried to go to Thailand twice during covid but the quarantine stay requirements were much too long for someone who only had two weeks of vacation, not to mention, the additional cost imposed by the quarantine. I'm hoping to reschedule for March 2023.

I think you were wise to move to Thailand at 50 years old. I spend 3 month a year in Thailand too and I am married to a Thai woman. But at 74 years old, it's really too late for me to live there permanently. Plus the temperature is just too hot most of the time. I live on the Oregon coast were it is much cooler. And so I hired a law firm to help me get a spousal visa for my wife so that we can travel both ways from America to Thailand. You have great videos and I have watched many of them. Yes it just feels like home here. That might change at some point, but I’m just following my gut and my heart. Thanks for your support.

The heat is the one big reason that would hold me back from considering moving to Thailand full time. Some of us are just not built for that. However, it would make a great part-time home if one can swing it. Your first trip is pretty similar to my experience. I loved everything about it except the heat. I really want to return for a longer stay this time.

I got admit, I hated the heat. You gotta remember that I was born in Russia. So my body isn’t exactly designed for warm temperatures. 🤣 However after four months here I feel very acclimated. I still sweat, I still overheat but it’s getting much better.

If you are afraid of the heat I recommend you to stay in Khao Kho, Phetchabun. It's not hot in the summer. not very cold in winter It is very suitable for living.

An air-conditioner is useful during a few summer months. If you don't want to use it, you shouldn't use a car either. In fact, a few solar panel can provide free electricity for an air-conditioner. Not to mention some secret places where it's cold during the summer night.

I am Thai and agree with you about the heat. After living in US for 30+ years, I have a hard time taking the heat in Thailand. However I will retire next year, but will stay in Thailand from November to March.
