I've watched this about a couple hundred times over the last year or so, along with every other single cover of Alone from Heart because it's one of my favorite songs. What Xio has that lacks frequently is the raw passion that is required to pull this song off. This is one of those particular songs that can't just be sung, even if your Whitney Houston. This is a strong power ballad. This song requires ones entire body and emotion to be enveloped into the music And lyrics, and feel it in their being, and project it to the world in the emotion and feeling that the songs lyrics express. You can learn the lyrics and hit the notes, but it's not enough. Xio puts the power and emotion and feeling into the song that it needs to be the power ballad that it is. There's a reason that it wasn't a massive hit when I-Ten wrote and released the song. Ann did what Ann does, she poured the raw power and emotion into the delivery of the song, which made it their most memorable and unforgettable hit. Xio did excellent with this cover, so much power and feeling in the delivery which is what this song commands. Absolutely one of my favorite covers of this song
One very very strong point that will always keep Ann in a class of her own besides her incredible voice is her pronunciation...when Ann sings even on the top of her lungs you can make out every syllable perfectly....not here...but still great voice

Hi Ken! Normally all your videos are of very high quality, but this this time I'd like to say (humbly) that your student seems to think all the time in the lyrics, the tone, the pitch, etc. rather than feeling the music and flowing with it, and that's notizeable in the recording. I'm not saying she's bad at all (no my god!), because she's great actually. The most accurated example that comes to my mind to explain this is when you drive a car for the first month in your life, you tend to think too much of the speed, the traffic signs, the lights, etc. and when you finally learn to drive, you just feel it and act instinctively. Thanks for sharing all your content, it's very helpful. Greetings!

+Adriel Oliveira They have to put in quite a bit of work to implement good vocal techniques into these tough songs. But they do make it look and sound like it's easy for them when they perform. They train a lot to get their voices into shape for this.
If only you knew the struggle at the beginning of my rock journey! It's all about perseverance, working daily and practice makes perfect :)

Really, is not easy even get close Ann Wilson vocal power and talent. This cover is one of the best I have heard (as the Gabriela Gunčíková cover, who can join the sweetest voice of Nacy Wilson and a unique style of rock singer!). Congrats to Xiomara and to Mr. Tamplin. An amazing work, as a big fan of Ann and Nancy, I am really impressed.

I will 100% agree nobody on the planet can sing like Ann, even Celine Dion kind of embarrassed herself by trying to cover "Alone". But this girl clearly studied this song and with this teacher she's achieved what Celine and Carrie Underwood couldn't even do, her pitch and vibrato on the high notes and the notes that are held are very excellent. She also has a really cool name 👍

Pretty good,but i think it lacks the feeling Ann Wilson brings to it,not doubting Xiomaras Talent at all,she is amazing!,but Alone is my all time favourite female rock song,and no-one comes close to the Wilson girls. Still,a very worthy rendition from Xiomara,good work.:-)

I'm listening to the girl for the second time in total. Before that, I listened to a song from the movie Rock for Ages with Tom Cruise. however, this is a famous song there. But it so happened that I listened to and fell in love with that song after Tom Cruise's performance. I listened to different performances and probably everyone sounded good and decent in their own way. But the guys sang it in a dream, I tried it too, but I sing at such a basic level, I'm an amateur, not a professional like you. And besides, they can't read English yet. But I will try to practice vocals on my own. And as soon as I have the opportunity, I will take vocal lessons. Probably it will be later when I can go to stunt school again and take dancing lessons again. Then I'll try to take vocal lessons afterwards. But I'll be back on my own even earlier. I often practice vocals at work late at night. I like the way Xiomara Crystal performs

Man, Ken Tamplin singers are just different from ALL other vocalists. Their voices hit you different. It’s like getting hit by Mike Tyson compared to some amateur boxer. I know it’s a crude analogy but these guys are just different. Just fire all hard rock singers and replace them all with Ken Tamplin vocalists already, and we’re solid. It’s how rock is meant to be sung. These are the only singers who can give you the Plant / Coverdale fix.

Did you even watch the whole video? She is a student and had been on the course for 6 months. It was amazingly good when put in that context. Easy to be an armchair critic. Also, this video was I think designed to show flaws that can be gradually improved on.
