_THANK YOU_ for acknowledging the fact that Arai comforted Denji after the botched kiss. Most other reactors I've seen barely seem to pay attention to that. Personally, I really appreciate that the guy is doing his best to make amends with the kid after the whole hotel incident.
The gun devil killed Aki's family 13 years ago and he was at least 10yo in the flash black so he's probably 23 now. Himeno has had 5 partners before Aki so it's safe to say that she is probably older than him.
Aki is stated to be three years older than Denji, Denji thinks he’s 16 but he’s probably slightly older because Aki’s age is given as 20. Aki was seven in the flashback and his brother was 5. Himeno is probably about 21-23, number of dead partners doesn’t really mean much because most Public Devil Hunters are recruited straight out of high school and die before 30.
@@spiraljumper74 I think you're misinterpreting Aki's introduction scene. Aki was stated to be Denji's senior by 3 years, meaning he started working 3 years before Denji joined. If Aki was 19 he wouldn't be allowed to drink as well.
And definitely older because she's been in long enough to lose several partners and her an aki have been working together for 3 years and Arai is a rookie starting out at 22 and he acts younger than them And it seems unprecedented to have someone so young because everyone was shocked
Before anyone comments "age of consent is 13 in Japan" you should know that different prefectures have different minimum ages, and Tokyo has it as 18. The manga also confirms this is true and that Denji is legally a minor and underage.
But at the same time us, the audience arent even sure of his age since he was raised in an environment that made it hard for him to truly know how old he is. We just guess hes 16 cuz he guessed it; regardless i still find himenos actions unwarranted
@@elaiq359 oh yeah sure, he is just assuming he is 16, though i guess since he knows which day/month his birthday is so he must be pretty close (assuming the hayakawa family didn't just pick one for future celebration)
Drinking age in Japan is 20. You don't have to reverse genders to grasp the situation correctly. If you feel it's ok, then it's ok. There is a significant difference between male and female. 👍 Laws and ordinances are enacted when something goes wrong.
This is only a personal theory, but when denji meet's pochita the first time, he has what looks like a gunshot wound in his side. The way the other devil's talk its pretty certain that "The chainsaw devil" was a big deal and very scary. What if pochita was what was left of the chainsaw devil after it fought with the gun? Edit: Manga readers please don't respond with spoilers or anything.
The voice actor played Denji was praised by the director for the first time in this episode. He said the reason for this was very good at acting vomiting 🤮✨
Drinking age is 20 in Japan Aki is like ~23 Himeno is like mid-20’s Makima is around the same age if not a little older (late 20’s) Age of consent is 13 over there as well
It’s pretty obvious that Himeno is doing this as a strange sort of jealousy/dominance reaction thing because of Makima and how she apparently has this hold over people in Himeno’s life that are important to her, especially Aki. She’s turning into yet another character that wants to use the Chainsaw to kill the gun devil because she wants to protect Aki. It’s not really about Denji himself at all. That’s why I disagree with people saying she’s a pedophile because of her actions this episode. Also they made a point of showing Himeno’s reaction to Denji saying his age when she was less drunk. I think that if anything does happen she’s not gonna be happy when she’s sober again
It's been surprising to see the internet at large's reaction to the last scene. A literary theorist's take: Himeno brings up Aki and Makima unprompted for a reason. There's a lot of discussion happening about, like, "wait is this okay?" when the scene is 120% presented in a way that says like... no, it's not? The show knows that. Himeno knows that! When she learns Denji's age she goes "oh shit you haven't been drinking have you?" yet a dozen drinks later she's the one mouth-to-mouth feeding him alcohol. The whole point of the scene is to tell us that Himeno is *not okay* at that moment; that she's drunk and desperate, and they tell us in the script itself that root cause is the fact that Aki loves Makima instead of her. That much isn't even subtext; it's right there on the screen. What we're supposed to be taking away is that a) Himeno is depressed and sexually frustrated, and b) there's friction between her and Makima (re: Aki) and maybe we should keep that in mind moving forward.
@@Sene_-wf2py they literally say that it’s not ok. But a character can do bad things and not be completely evil. Idk why so many people struggle with that fact. Humans aren’t one-dimensional creatures.
