Yes. Especially since I don't have my mum anymore. Tears but good tears and a quick thanks for a great mum. So I think the spirit of the temple creation was met
Me 2, my mom is diagnosed with breast cancer and got her results while I was at home watching this video. Beautiful video great friends and my mom got some good news ❤️
you probably dont give a damn but does someone know a trick to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly lost my password. I love any tips you can offer me!
Did you notice we ate at konbini (convenience stores) a lot? The reason for this was to cut down on any weight we had to carry so we (and A) wouldn't get exhausted! It's really easy to stop when you need to eat or refill water along the way. You can customize a route best suited for you. There are rentals at U2 Onomichi if you're visiting without a bike and only want to do a small section of the routes! Hope you enjoyed this video....
The intro was awesome, love this video. It was so worth the wait. Such a beautiful country. When you all got lost was so funny. This is so good, love this. Thanks for sharing. 👍🤗❤❤❤
Thank you Gene! Omg we were very confused and lost... my Japanese isn't great, so sometimes communication is hard.. especially in certain areas where the dialect is different! thank you for watching every week
I rode the Shimanami Kaido from Imabari to Onomichi in 2018. I was 44 at the time and rode with my teenage daughters. We hired a mamachari! OMG our butts hurt after two days riding but the memories of that scenery made it all worthwhile. I would highly recommend but if you’re a little older and not so fit (like me) take 3 or 4 days. It’s such a beautiful environment. We rode in early December which we thought was not too cold and definitely not hot. Well done. Your video brought back many memories of a great trip.
What a nice group of friends you’ve found away from home! I think that’s always my hesitation when I move elsewhere, making friends as an adult is a totally different experience and hard.
I lived in Iwakuni for 3 years from 1975 to 1978. I was in my early 20's. I used to ride my Sekai 21 speed bicycle from Iwakuni to Hiroshima. Spend several hours in Hiroshima, then ride my bike back to Iwakuni. It is about 22 miles from Iwakuni to Hiroshima. On one such trip, myself and 2 other American friends went on a bike ride to Hiroshima. We parked our bikes on the sidewalk across the street from the Hiroshima train station. We locked our bikes to a cuple of street sign posts, then we went on a long walk around the city. I realized about an hour into our walk, I left my Yashica 35 mm camera strapped to the back rack of my bike. When we got back to our bikes about 5 hours later, my camera was still there. Japanese folks are very honest.
Idk why but the Rose/bud/thorn thing at the end made me tear up! that's an amazing way to connect with your friends and understand their point of view after going through that bike journey.
As someone who’s from the PNW, Japan really appreciates nature and that’s something I never realized when most things posted about Japanese culture (that I have seen on movies or in general) are in the city, so it’s really cool to see the nature side of Japan & how much it has to offer. Thanks for showing us a side of Japan that isn’t always shown, and teaching us along the way!
Watching this video was so nostalgic for me! I went to Japan in November of last year and biked along the Shimanami Kaido route. I also stayed at the Onomichi U2 so this brought back so many memories. We drove along the Tatara Bridge, biked along the Tatara Bridge, and we even climbed the bridge! Not many people get the opportunity to climb up the bridge, it was an awesome experience. We also had lunch at the other hostel, the Ikidane Cyclist Hostel & Cafe. The food was really fresh and delicious.
When I was in the Air Force in Japan (could have also been in Europe) I was shocked how many Americans did not take the opportunity to explore their surroundings, preferring to stick to base activities. So glad you are open minded to new different cultures.
This is soooo awesome and such perfect content. Uplifting, happy and so fun to watch! That man driving you guys to the information center, Japanese will literally go out of their way to help you. It's so wonderful to see that kind of humanity. When I went to Japan an elderly man literally carried my luggage up stairs for me because he saw me struggling. It's something I will never forget. How did you meet these friends?! It's so wonderful that you have friends to do this kind of stuff with in a completely different country.
What a fun, lighthearted and inspirational video! - And wooow, I really want to do this! This summer me and a few friends biked from my hometown to my familycabin, and I agree that it truly is the best way to explore new places! I had so much fun and it is a treasured memory for sure. I'm going to apply for my master degree in Tokyo, and this is now officaly added to my bucket list. Extra motivation for studying!
i always get so excited to see you posted 😭 i’m currently planning a trip with friends to japan and korea next april (corona depending of course) and i keep coming back to your videos to let them play in the background food inspiration while working on itineraries. i hope you’re staying healthy and happy over there 💜
Such a beautiful trip. Seeing ur videos I feel like moving there... So pretty. The mom temple teared me up Loved the concept of rose thorn bud. So amazing to see girls only going on such a adventure...
I wasn’t expecting the Rose, Thorn, and Bud part to make me emotional! Despite having no part in this, I feel so proud of you too for accomplishing the ride. Another beautiful and thoughtful video❤️❤️
Watching this made me so motivated into learning how to bike❤️ and thanks for lightening up my quarantine life, it’s been really hard doing online classes and your videos always motivated me to enjoy life and take risks
Omg. I did this last November. My bucket list as well! Such a beautiful scenic ride! I spammed my instastory with shimanami kaido everything. Lol. Loving all the vlogs!
Yay!!!! I'm so glad your trip went well! We had the e-assist bikes when we did it.. I can't imagine climbing all of those slopes on a normal bike.. y'all are beasts. Also, your friend who biked New Zealand sure was handy to have around! thank goodness for skilled pals
Ok this is my favorite video of yours thus far! You put in so much work/thought when editing and into the small details which is amazing. I can definitely tell you take your time on editing, it really shows! 👏🏼☺️
Great job ladies, looked very fun. The bathroom was a family/handicap room. The sink next to the toilet is for handicap people to dispose their waste bags.
incredible video and great editing with the music and everything - super relaxing video ♥ i love that rose, thorn, and bud thing at the end that's such a nice idea 🥺🥰 serious question though: where/how did you find all your friends in Japan? Once it's possible again, I'd love to go to Japan too, but I have no idea how to make friends outside school/workplace environments 😞
this was such an interesting idea! I loved this video because it is not always about the city views of the famous restaurants. you have to go out and enjoy what it is that is different from what you are used to! this became a part of my bucket list and I would like to ask how did you train for it and what tips can you give to a beginner in cycling?
The experience I felt in this video is immaculate, thank you so much for this, I literally felt like it was me riding that bike looking through your cam...❤️
This was SUCH a cool video and experience! I love biking (caught the bug after living in Amsterdam) and this just made me want to try ALL the great biking trips! I hope someday I can make it to Japan and do this!
Okay now I want to do this!!! I indoor cycle everyday. I have to get my tires fixed on my bike otherwise I would totally go cycle after watching this!!

I LOVE cycling with my son being pulled in a trailer, but my bottom hurts SO much after just 5 miles. Do you have any tips on a seat that can alleviate that issue?
hi girl - just came across your channel, very nice job on the Shimanami Kaido! Give me a holler if you want to do some cycling in Gunma. I've been making videos of what cycling is like here (very mountainous, less "famous", a whole lot of remote/awesome nature!). I think yall would love it. Anyways, keep riding!
Ok wasnt expecting the Mom temple...that made me tear up. I love everything about this video.
RIGHT! so incredibly sweet and amazing!!!

My gosh, even when you guys had flats, it was in such a beautiful area.

Such amazing place to do such an activity with friends. I love Japan.
When I was in the Air Force in Japan (could have also been in Europe) I was shocked how many Americans did not take the opportunity to explore their surroundings, preferring to stick to base activities. So glad you are open minded to new different cultures.
