I am in love with the way you present Japan in all its beauty and filling the video with so much education about the heritage too. How you don't put music over every part but allow the viewer to take in the natural sounds. It's really like transporting us all there when we can't be there. Thank you ♡

I've been living in NC for 10 years now. Came across your channel last year and have been loving every video! I absolutely LOVED that traditional looking genkan. And that older Japanese man was so adorable and his English was so so good. I am glad you decided to tell us about what happened with the group of men. (obviously not glad that it happened) It's important for people to always be mindful that no matter how pretty and open the area things like that can still happen. I also have a fake life that I tell, like yeah I am def going to tell you exactly where I am staying and that I'm alone!?
Also your video quality was beautiful, you are becoming a pro!

Hi Mandy! The man was SO KIND! He was actually really surprised to see me and shared how it had been a year since he spoke English due to the lack of tourism. I hope he gets more business soon, I would hate to see anything happen to their guesthouse. I plan to stay there the next time I am visiting Nara. To add on to the being approached thing - it was so odd. Always best to error on the side of protecting yourself!!

A bit disappointing and infuriating about the weirdos in the park. Before covid, you’d often see school kids doing a bit of english practice and doing small surveys on foreign tourists, but groups of foreign guys asking invasive questions? That’s a worry.

Sorry to see the deers attacking you like that, but you want to know the fact that you're in Nara in the most unusual period. In the normal time, there are zillions of international and domestic tourists packing the place, so deers are consistently well fed by visitors to make them much more mellow usually. Right now in this almost tourist less pandemic time, no one is feeding them with crackers, so they are super desperate fighting for the limited resources.

How fitting that you followed your description of the men with pictures of you being chased by a herd of wild deer :-) The gentleman with the guesthouse that showed you around inside--that is something to treasure! He worked really hard to speak English for you/us, and a visit with him could be a whole video.

Isn´t it annoying, that we have to have a "fake story" at hand in order to feel a bit more safe? Like, this is for real for so many ppl everywhere in the world. It´s very easy to tell if a person approaching you is just genuinely interested in connecting or not.
That being said, thank you for a very aesthetically beautiful video.
Not really sure I would not be freaking myself out in the Japanese AirBnB - remembering every horrormovie I've seen :D

I loved this. The train ride with your background music made me a little misty eyed! And I love how kind all the Japanese people were. But I was not surprised to hear you talk about the group of foreign men in the park. It's awful that women cannot enjoy a day by themselves without this fear. It happens everywhere and it has to stop. You have every right to sit in the park alone and enjoy the deer without having to make up fake stories to get them to leave you alone! I love your videos and every one makes me want to move to Japan even more. I'm learning hiragana too! ありがとう

So sorry for the men’s behaviour ! ... and a bit for the deer although they’ve been trained by the feeding tradition and should have time out zones for the more aggressive ones ... it seemed though later, you were able to sit down with some deer nearby in peace? . When I was there I didn’t have any issues with the deer but running around did not happen and I am a bit bigger than you ... I did laugh a little - sorry. The temple area and walkway to it were they not the best !?! ... thanks for rekindling some memories ... and stay safe. I also now understand why many Japanese when they come to Banff think the Elk are tame and approach them. Do not do this!

The cherry blossoms are beautiful! However, don't be satisfied with seeing the cherry blossoms. There is something more beautiful. That is Sakura Fubuki! The most beautiful time is when the petals of the cherry blossoms fall like snow. But you can see Sakura Fubuki for a few days. Everyone, please come to Japan to see Sakura Fubuki!
