Just got one of these in red. Been using Jazzmasters for decades- these are seriously good guitars and sound just like the '60s ones. Glad they ditched the useless rhythm circuit which I never used anyway, and the upgraded bridge is just right. Fender also move the tremelo unit closer to the bridge to increase the tension over the bridge -great idea...though they used the standard length whammy bar which is too long now, so I simply cut down the whammy bar by an inch to get in the right playing position. One of Fender's best modern guitars.
Sounds great, as does the player ii jaguar. A distilled and focused design, great color, nice pickups, descent price point as well . Doesn’t come with a gigbag but the fender ‘luxury gigbags’ offer about as much protection as the secret service so that’s no loss…
The old player jag and jazzmaster were cool but had the crappy vintage style bridge which would vibrate itself apart. Glad to see they’ve updated these and I’ll consider grabbing one if I get my hands on one and like it enough.
It’s only useless if you don’t find a use for it but truth is that it’s another color and besides, it’s definitely part of the Jazzmaster history. So this new version, though seemingly a nice guitar, is different from an original Jazzmaster for sure.

Thanks, nice demo. I think they’re a pretty good option for the price & definitely an upgrade on the Player 1 Jazzmaster 👍
I told my wife this is what I want for my birthday in october, and I told her she has to get it from Empire!
Sweeeeeet! Happy pre-birthday! We hope to hear from your wife and we will make sure the setup is dialed!
Grade A wife 😀
Do the PU make a good figure playing surf stuff???
without a rhythm circuit it simply not a jazz master. just another offset guitar
Such an unpopular circuit Jazzmaster players I like tape over the wheels. That circuit is absolutely useless
If it has duct tape over the switches is it still a Jazzmaster? Some people don’t want or need the rhythm circuit.

No rhythm circuit.. No thanks..
most people don’t use it anyway…
Bye-bye..
I'm sure Fender is heartbroken 😂
Each to their own.. To me, it’s like saying, no actually I’d rather just have a common tone and volume on a Les Paul or a Tele Custom.
Adios amigo
