  • Papua New Guinea is a land similar to those in adventure novels. Having huge rivers and invaded by thick tropical forests, this country with 800 dialects is surprising with its cultural richness and incredible biodiversity. Through three stories, this film reveals a land where legends and myths are still alive.
    Maurice Léponce, passionate entomologist is looking for a small beast in the heights of these gigantic forests, seeking insects populating the canopy. Jona, on his part, cultivates coffee and is fighting for the development of the small villages of the Highlands. This documentary also takes us along to meet the Iatmul, the crocodile men”tribe. These spectacular images take us into the heart of one of the last true lands of exploration, where the best way of finding your way is to lose yourself in it.

    Hi Slice, Please also do Documentary on outer Islands provinces (Island of New Britain, New Ireland, Manus island , Bougainville Island, Milne Bay Islands, Kiwai Islands and Siassi Island) which are separate from mainland New Guinea. The outer island province's of PNG have their own unique cultures and ancient rituals still practiced today. The island province's of PNG also have rituals & tradition's unseen by the world, it is large region with 4 million inhabitants and an area bordering Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and Torres strait islands in North Queensland Australia.

      So you are saying each of the 800 is completely different ? That seems a lot for such a small place

    • @hezronwangijr
      @hezronwangijr 2 месяца назад +2

      @James-kv6kb Yes. Over 800 languages that are completely different, most here are bilingual / trilingual and we even have a fair bit of polyglots. I speak 3. It may seem like a small place with over 10 million people but our history and cultures are many and diverse. There are documentaries and research papers written about this, I'm sure you'd be enlightened if you look it up.

    That was a really good doc and i watch 100s of these. i'm glad they won but it makes me sad how badly they will be robbed. there will be someone who pays more for one cup of their coffee than they are paid for an entire bag. this happens all over the world and these criminals need to be stopped. it need not just be accepted. at least he knows they are all liars and thieves hopefully thats enough to make him smart enough to get the most out it. Folgers and maxwell house and all the household brands around here would never ever use their coffee. they shake trees with machines and grind up all the immature beans and leaves and branches and bugs and larvae that land in the truck. its sad and disgusting. i only drink tea that i manufacture myself from plants and fruits i grow myself.

    This is sad. He thinks that becoming less isolated will make life better for his people the only thing is the opposite will occur. Just look at all the other indigenous people who have come into contact with modern society.

      @@James-kv6kb Yeah but there is a spectrum. You have the US where society is all messed up and then you have people who know about the western world but have limited contact and you can see how their society is way better. The less you have western influence the better I say.

    Not 800 dialects 860 languages for English man you cannot understand the difference between a dialect and a language!!!!

    • @elcapt
      @elcapt Месяц назад

      Dialect is correctly used here. The word Laguage is more broad, while dialect defines specifics within a language.
      For example, the "Motu" language, commonly spoken by the people of Central and Gulf provinces(in PNG) has 2 dialects;
      1. Police Motu and
      2. Hiri Motu
