I will never be able to travel to Japan, my health won't allow it. So it is channels like this, that help me to feel included. Japan is a gorgeous place.

I booked a week by myself in Asakusa this year. My plan is to just walk around Tokyo, eat good food, and view some sakura.
My friend and I stayed in Ueno last year during peak season. I can't wait to go back!

To me, the best way to enjoy cherry blossom in Tokyo is to walk around in some quiet residential neighborhood and find a small nameless shrine or a tiny park with one or two Sakura trees. If you look up at those pale pink petals, It seems that they bloom only for you. And that would beat any Sakura experience you can have in those famous places.

Yes! An Andrew video! I started following japan-guide entirely because Andrew Marston moved from his own channel to here. I'm sad his channel is defunct, but happy for this progress in his career.

10 - Koshikawa Botanical Garden - First visit was in Fall 2017 and then for Spring 2019, sadly the peak season had ended by that time.
09 - Meguro-gawa - Miss my chance in 2016 (really a dumbass) but had my revenge in 2019 by going there right after landing in Haneda (literally).
08 - Koshikawa Korakuen - Sadly I only visited in the Fall season (2017) and couldn’t made it in 2019 for the peak season already gone.
07 - Asukayama-koen - Thanks to this video back then, I visited this place in 2019 and the experience was unique to say the least. Thanks.
06 - Yoyogi-koen - Checked it out both times (2016 and 2019) more enjoyable experience in 2016 (even if the weather was gloomy).
05 - Showa Kinen-Koen - Sadly this is the only place in this list I didn’t have the chance to visit both times, but maybe the 3rd will be do the charm
    04 - Sumida-Koen - Chill out there both in 2016 and 2019, while strolling down the Sumida-gawa
03 - Chidorigafchi - Both times the weather wasn’t on my side, still had fun with hanami
02 - Ueno-Koen - What can I say, like this list, my 2nd favorite place to watch Sakura. Both 2016 and 2019 were blessed, with multiple visits to gaze at them in day and night times.
01 - Shinjuku Gyoen - Since Kotonowa no Niwa, this place was in the must go place since the 1st visit in 2015. My best memory is from 2019, it was a beautiful Saturday morning with the Sun high in the sky and wonderful pictures that I engraved in my memory and with my camara.

      梅を好まれるとは、かなりの日本通ですね。ご存知ない方のために梅は香りを楽しむことができることも付け加えておきます。
You're quite a Japanese connoisseur when it comes to plum trees. For those of you who don't know, I should also add that plums can be fragrant.

The spectacle that the petals of the cherry blossoms are scattered is hard to do indescribable .

Why bring politics into it when it's about appreciating cherry blossoms? That's the reason why there's a list of spots to go to, pick and choose. It's not mandatory to go to all.
